Let me start off by warning that this restaurant is expensive. We ordered three meals, and no alcoholic drinks and the total was close to ¥30,000. We knew this going in and our dinner was a special occasion so this price tag did not bother us. But, don’t let this price tag scare you off, there were less expensive options to be had, and happy hour between 17:00 and 19:00 has a plate for roughly ¥40,000 that includes desert. Now on to the food. This restaurant sources their ingredients from local sources, and I mean local to Kamakura, even the beef is from local places. Hayama to be exact. I don’t know anything about Hayama or their cows, but the beef tasted fantastic. The lobster was great, the scallops and shrimp all tasty and fresh. The portions were good sized and the vegetables, miso soup, rice, and salad were tasty and satisfying. This restaurant is called tepan yaki, or steak house style, but not the traditional American steak house, this is more like a Beni Hanna style cooked at your table style restaurant. The hood sucked all the heat away from the table and the restaurant itself was kind of chilly, even on a sweltering evening. The restaurant has high chairs, and only three cooking tables that seat about 6 – 8 people each, so I imagine this place can be very busy at times. Overall, I recommend.
