MITSUKOSHIDEPARTMENTSTORE we stopped here for food courts which are on their basement levels(b1 is for desserts, bakeries and pre-packaged food and b2 is for grocery/market). it’s hard not to be impressed by selection and appearance. i have no doubt that the store can easily satisfy even pickiest eaters since you can find not only japaneses, but chinese and korean food. it’s no secret that japanese are infatuated with french cuisine, especially desserts. mitsukoshi’s dessert section looks and feels like any french patisserie in a grander scale. everything is cute and pretty! beware that desserts in department stores or specialty shops in japan are not cheap. sometimes, they cost more than a meal in itself. from what i saw, mistukoshi definitely carries luxury brands. as always, prices are much better in u.s. p. s. — there’s no tables nor chairs to enjoy the food in the store, unlike what we think as food courts in u.s. it also is not customary to eat food on the streets(even sipping coffee) in japan.
