Good location, good taste a little pricy. It’s right next to Mitsukoshi Ginza so good to go after shopping. The house and interior is so classic and traditional Japanese house and you can enjoy it. The price has changed based on Unagi market price but I feel a little pricy. Not on my top 5 Unagi place.

I am always in search of some really nice unagi. This restaurant is a traditional Unagi Restaurant in Ginza. People already lined up outside of the restaurant before it opened. The Ika Uni was nice. However, their unagi was not as fatty as I thought. I think I am used to the more fatty ones in United States. The service wasn’t very nice. My favorite Unagi restaurant is Hizen-Ya Unadon Speciality Shop in Taiwan.

Recommended by the hotel’s concierge when she was asked where can we find a good unagi place. Apparently I heard the hotel concierges do walk around places and eat in places to find good eating spots to recommend to the hotel guess. Apparently Chikuyotei has 2 branches, one is the main branch Chikuyotei Honten and the other Chikuyotei Ginza. We were told the one at ginza is slightly more casual. The concierge tried to make a reservation for us but the restaurant does not take reservation on Sunday. That means we have to go stand in line and we decided to go there before noon. Thankfully there were only two persons ahead of us. We all ordered the unagi donburi which of cos turned out to be very good. The unagi was fresh and we realized they were not swimming in excessive sauce compared to those served here or anywhere outside japan. We realized the food in Tokyo is inexpensive but do not expect that to be the case in Chikuyotei. I am not going to lie, the unagi meal is not cheap but it is totally worth it. On the service aspect, the staffs were hospitable. In general, you do not get bad service in Tokyo, it is unheard of. Also try to experience the tatami seating on the 2nd floor. So head over here when you visit Tokyo, you will not be disappointed.
