If you are looking for one good meal to splurge on pick this place– this place was AMAZING! I was so impressed with the entire restaurant, the theme from the very beginning of dinner is ninja ninja ninja. I don’t want to give any spoilers in case you go, but let’s just say you will feel like a kid again! Not only was the theme very well put together the food was just perfect. You have to pick the menu beforehand and make a reservation, so do it ASAP! The meal is about 7 courses from an moos Bouche to dessert, all with little activities and entertainment in between each course. I picked the Japanese steak entrée, and I was not disappointed at all. The steak I got was melt in your mouth, and everything complimented each other perfectly. I honestly have no complaints, and this was actually the highlight of my trip. My only suggestion to you is remember your table name if you go to the bathroom! :)

I brought my boyfriend and his mother for their first visit to Japan and they loved it :) I don’t want to share too much about this place not to ruin the magic of the place. This place serves Japanese/western fusion food with little ninja tricks here and there and it is as tasty as fun. I recommend this place to anyone traveling in Tokyo. The service was great, the waiter did speak English although not fluently, but he was very charming and attentive. The price range is high but for the unique experience and an 8-dish course meal, I think it’s worth it.

This place Serve Japanese Fusion western style food. Some dishes can be a Baked Croûton from the taste of Risotto, to Cheviche with twist. This restaurant is maybe the best tourist restaurant i have tried. with a 10 Course menu, to around 6600 to 10.000 Yen. I was very certified with all the dishes, a higher class Bistro restaurant with menu card as Gourmet. I will deficiently recommend this place for all people visiting japan and want try another style restaurant,

Overpriced tourist trap. The staff is great and the food is not half-bad. However, for the price, you could enjoy a far better meal in Tokyo.

Ninja Akasaka is the first and only themed restaurant that my boyfriend and I went to during our two week vacation in Japan. My coworker suggested for us to go here and honestly, I’m glad we did. If you had to pick ONE themed restaurant to dine in while you’re in Tokyo, it has got to be Ninja Akasaka. I understand. This is a tourist trap. I also understand that you’re paying for the décor, atmosphere, and the little bits of entertainment they give you. But we don’t have themed restaurants like these in America so we might as well enjoy it at least ONCE! Reservations are highly recommended. We went one night without a reservation and unfortunately, we weren’t able to get in because they were completely booked. On top of that, you can only make reservations via phone. And that was a problem. We didn’t have phones with us when we were in Japan so we asked our hotel’s front desk to make the reservation for us and wha-la! We got in! Once you walk in, it’s pretty dark. Then out of nowhere, someone in a ninja outfit rolls into the room. They show you the way to the restaurant area, you will pass through a narrow dark cave-looking tunnel only to find out that you’ve come to a dead end. In order to go any further, you’ll need a bridge … or at least a rope so you can walk on it HAHA. And what do you know? After a few magical words, a bridge gets released from the other side and we cross safely. We got lead to the public area seating. They have plenty of private rooms for people who prefer privacy during their meal. It looks like you’re inside a cave but it looks like a fancy cave. The menu is on a scroll — genius isn’t it? They have three different sets for dinner and since my boyfriend and I weren’t that hungry, we both decided to share a course. We went with their Hanzou course, at 10,000 yen(roughly USD $ 81 at the time), and ten courses. 1. Shuriken star-blades grissini 2. White fish and tomatoe ceviche 3. Turban shell bombs with garlic butter(Conch I believe) 4. Summer treasure chest(Salad with the dressing in egg form) 5. Soup of the day(Cream soup) 6. Seafood specialty of the day(Abalone) 7. Sherbet candy 8. Japanese beef steak 9. Sushi 10. Dessert and fruits Everything that we’ve had was really good, especially the Japanese beef steak. It was so delicious. They also did some tricks here and there. In the middle of our dinner, they do have someone do magic tricks as entertainment for your party. It was very entertaining and it made me wonder how he does a lot of those things. I mean, I know it’s illusion but. like HOW? Overall, it’s a pretty good place. Very nicely done and a very good experience. I think it’ll be better if you have a bigger party so it’ll be more entertaining. Plus a private room would be nice with a bigger party! When we were leaving, they also give us a special good bye :) which was really nice. I would definitely come back … with a group of people!

I literally got ninja’ed into thinking this would be a good restaurant in Tokyo. On a recent visit to Tokyo, a friend suggested we eat at Ninja Akasaka, as it was supposed to be a dinner filled with spectacle and creative food presentation. I was very excited and saw a few YouTube videos showing the experience at the restaurant and it looked super kawaii! Well apparently things have changed recently and not for the better. We paid $ 65(US) for an omakase menu that attempted to be ninja clever… but totally missed the mark on flavor and consistency. Some of it was just plain awful like the tomato salsa chawanmushi. This place tries to rely on 80% entertainment and mood and 20% food quality. As for the entertainment, our ninja did basic magic tricks instead of actual martial art or ninja-type tricks. It was entertaining, but not exotic or very ninja. I mean seriously, when do ninja’s perform card tricks? Where are the smoke bombs and hidden doors? I don’t mind paying for spectacle if the food is meh, but neither was very good and the service wasn’t ninja quick either. This was one o f the most disappointing meals I’ve had in Japan, especially for the price point. Ninja please!!!

You’re paying for the atmosphere and entertainment(small magic tricks) factor more than anything else. This place is totally a tourist trap as there were a lot of foreigners all about. If you’re keen on avoiding such places, then you’d want to add this to your list to avoid. The food gets a 2 out of 5 and is comparable with any typical Japanese restaurant you’d find in Los Angeles. The medium sized course was good enough to feel OK, but I’m not sure if most people would be filled after such a meal. Nothing really stood out from the meal. If you absolutely love ninjas and want to attend a ninja themed dinner, go here. Otherwise, you can pass on this place. You’re paying far too much for not enough.

Our friend who lives in Tokyo took us here for dinner during our visit and we had no idea that they took their name ninja akasaka literally at this place! We were greeted by ninjas in their full attire with only their eyes and nose shown. They led us through hidden walls and dark narrow hallways. We even were tricked into thinking we had to jump over this huge hole in the ground until they lowered the bridge so we could cross. There are many narrow stairs so if you’re claustrophobic, you may want to skip this place. We had a 9 course meal with each one surpassing the last in deliciousness and presentation! They even did a magic show during the meal that wasn’t cheesy and had us laughing and ooh ahhing! It got a little stuffy in there at times and we were there in December. As in most Japanese restaurants, we had to sit on the floor but they did have little pillows so we didn’t have to sit on the hard wooden floors but my legs did fall asleep by the end of the meal. Overall, it was a fun night with delicious food, great ambiance, and fun entertainment. I will recommend it to any of our friends who visit Tokyo!

This is a theme restaurant, harkening to a Disney experience. You creep around in semi darkness, occasionally being attacked by waiters dressed up in ninja gear. Each table is enclosed in shoji doors and for our large group we had a private room as such. Tables are low to the floor and you sit on mats, although happily with the in-floor recessed areas for your feet. Food is an amalgamation of international dishes, but they were all very good. A magician comes along at some point in the meal who was entertaining. The restaurant is largely patronized by westerners and tourists, with the staff speaking good English. We had fun as a business group, but we all agreed we’d come back with our kids who would love it. Apparently the place is enormously popular and you need to make reservations weeks in advance.

This is my favorite«theme restaurant» in Tokyo ! The food was much better than your average theme restaurant and the staff was great. They were really into their roles and we even got a free magic show! Good good time!

I know fully well what I signed up for when I chose to come to a themed restaurant, but for the price tag, I was definitely expecting more. Maybe it was because I didnt speak Japanese? The restaurant definitely has cool décor, and the waitress was very nice. but since they were struggling with their English, they didnt do much in explaining the food and how it was related to Ninja. The food itself was decent, but for the price tag, I was hoping for more. The magic show at the end of the meal was nice. Probably decent if you want to experience what a theme restaurant is like, but I probably wouldnt return again since it is quite gimick-y

Disclaimer: I was never a theme restaurant fan, because the food typically sucks, but this place really is pretty good! They welcomed the 11 of us with some«Ninja Training», and that was the only bad part of the entire dinning experience. The tasty menu was good, our waiter was fun and attentive, and dinner ended with a magic show. I wouldn’t go again, but I would suggest others to give it a try!

Pricey but an experience worth checking. An underground ninja setting, great food, special service from the staff and a fantastic vibe. Very cool and worth checking out!

Not only was this the best theme restaurant I visited while in Tokyo, but it was just plain the best restaurant I went to. Presentation and ambiance were off the charts! As you probably know, the inside is decked-out like an old school village. We were sat in our own private dwelling table, only to be surprised by many ninjas throughout our spectacular kaiseki meal, which included escargot, roe, and an awesome dessert in the shape of a frog. The mystery dish was presented with dry ice, and it was just, well, super cool.

In true Ninja style it wasn’t easy to find but I guess that lead to the adventure. It was a last minute decision to go so we didn’t book in advance and took the risk of showing up unannounced, we thought this would be easier than the expected language barrier over the phone At first they simply told us they were full, because they were, but after some ninja convincing of our own we were assured if someone didn’t turn up 20min past their booking we could have their seats and we lucked out! Ninja Asasaka is great for the entire family but it was just myself and my partner — still kids at heart. They decorated the restaurant like it was a secret ninja cave and you had to call draw bridges and walk over smoking rivers and through small passageways to get into on of the many little offshoots. Ours only had 4 tables but some were only large enough to fit 2 people! We got the Yamato Spirit banquet which is equivalent to about $ 75AUS and had 11 courses. I don’t want to give away all the secrets but some courses were delicious, some entertaining and some ok. Value for money is still out of this world considering the food comes with fire, smoke and ninjas! There was even a ninja who stopped by and did some pretty fancy slight of hand/illusions… as ninjas do! All in a all a very over the top, slightly cornet, super entertaining, pleasantly surprising evening and I would fully recommend to anyone who doesn’t take themselves too seriously! I hear there is one in Sydney so I guess you don’t have to go all the way to Japan for some ninja antics! *Side note, we lost a phone that had all the photos so I have had to up load a few from google — all these things were present in our dinner.

My favorite Japanese theme restaurant when I visit Japan. All the waiters and waitress dressed up as ninjas. Your group will have a private room with Japanese tatami style floor, be prepared to take off your shoes :-) The food was very thoughtful, one of a kind creation, you will not find in any other restaurants. After the delicious dinner, a ninja magician will come in to your room present a magic show /tricks right in front of you, but no filming on the magic show. If you are in Tokyo, it’s a must go restaurant! I highly recommend it.

This place is so funny, but so cool at the same time. Yes, its a tourist destination, doubt may locals come here. I was pretty dissapointed with the reservation process, they only confirmed our reservation about two hours before it was time to go, while we had done it about 5 days before. the food was good, nothing to rave about but the service was amazing, the decoration and ambiance is very cool and the«ninja magic tricks» still have me confused. If i go back to Japan, I would probably go back with more people. Sitting is very intimate, so this could be somewhat romantic if it wasnt for the constant interruptions of the waiters bringing out food!

For anyone visiting Tokyo and looking for great food and fun entertainment, this place is well worth visiting. The theme is ninja warriors and the setting is very dark, mysterious, and secluded. The people who greet and serve you are all ninjas… and they safely escort you to your table through hidden passage ways and locked doors. Dishes are fixed price with many options to choose from. We loved everything we had. For entertainment, a ninja magician paid us a visit and showed us various card and coin tricks. Surprisingly, we had never seen any of these before… and it was quite impressive to experience them so close up.

If you’re looking for something special, this is definitely the place you should go to. When you first enter in this restaurant, you only face a small door… No way you could imagine what’s inside this place. It’s a really impressing place. But the place is not the only special thing about this restaurant, the food is as well. The menu is very refined, and special, it marry many different tastes. Going to this restaurant is an experience in itself and it definitely worth it.

Ninja is a themed restaurant all about the magic and mystery of the Japanese Ninja! It’s a really awesome place to visit, it’s amazing how much detail there is in the restaurant. Right from the entrance you get this feeling of mystery as the restaurant is kind of dark and secretive, but it’s still very popular. It’s very much like a Ninja’s hiding place. The Staff are very funny and they look so cool, they take photos with guests as well and are really interesting to talk to. The food is great, it’s quite expensive, but it’s all for the show and the good quality of the meals there. It really is an amazing experience, I can’t really say I’ve ever been surprised by a Ninja when leaving the restaurant before! It was really funny, and I laughed a lot after that. I would definitely go again and enjoy it with a big group, please visit this restaurant if you can!
