This was probably one of my favorite meals of our trip. In Venice, there is no shortage of choices as to where to eat but this place not only delivers solid food but at a price you can’t beat. I ordered spaghetti bolognese, baby octopus and dessert. Also purchased a bottle of wine and it was only $ 20(euro). That’s a great deal for Venice from what I could tell. The wait staff is mostly business but that’s ok I get it considering the language barrier. Nothing fancy on the inside and it was a tad on the warm side since it didn’t seem like the A/C was functioning too great. Also we learned this place is basically comfort food for locals and additionally they use to make bells for the towers in this same space!

Our 3rd dinner in Venice and the best so far. We started with their house white vino & mixed green salad with carrots, & tomatoes(all good). Then Rain had the tagiatelle with artichokes & smoked cheese which was delicious, but my Tagiatelle Medditeranee with capers, tuna, tomatoes & olives was spectacular. It is rare that I accidentally out-select Rain, but I inched her out on this time. We also both had the sea bass as our main course and although I don’t like having to de-bone fish, I know it is a very tasty way to prepare fish… and it was! Very moist. It was more expensive than our first two dinners($ 93 compared to the $ 50 to $ 60 range).

Full of local workers instead of tourists, we knew this was the spot for an authentic blue collar lunch. It was fast, simple, hearty, and tasty. No menu, our waiter just came over and told us what our options were. Recommended for when you’re over the tourist traps and just want an easy lunch with no b.s.
