disappointing to say the least. poor to rude service. we customized a margherita pizza w/buffalo mozzarella, which was decent. the cheese was fantastic but we had to ask for basil(they gave us a little sprig) and the crust would’ve been better more charred. tomatoes were on the acidic side and crust was too salty. boring and pass. you can tell i really didn’t enjoy this. :p the tuna carpaccio left us confused when paired with grapefruit– flavors that do not complement. tuna fish was fine. overall, lackluster and would advise avoiding and just going to dal maro’s for a take away(much cheaper).

If there were zero stars, I would grade it. This is the worst food and service we have experienced ever, anywhere. We’re seated at a 4-top where another couple was already seated, even though there were 3 open tables for 2. We got nary a nod for 20 minutes. We were just moving to get up when the waiter who had served the other couple without acknowledging us appeared. We were afraid to juat order drinks, so we ordered everything at once. Husband and I ordered primis, his was brought 15 minutes before mine. My pasta was brought 10 minutes before bread slung on the table. Carbonara with shrimp was tasteless, gooey and had tiny, mushy pieces of shrimp with veins attached. My pasta was horrible, not one fresh ingredient. Husbands pizza was passable. Service is terrible, nonexistent, disrespect. Do not go here.

I had their speck pizza which was simple, fresh, and good. Every bite had speck in it, they did not skimp on it. Gf had their black cuttlefish linguini, which was awesome. The service was good and the prices were pretty cheap.

The service is impeccable and the food is delicious! We ordered the chicken topped with mozzarella and tomato sauce. O my! My taste buds were exploding. We finished the meal with the warmed chocolate cake with a soft middle atop white chocolate! It was delicious! The wait staff was attentive and very welcoming. We get the tip to try this restaurant from a local and I’m so glad we followed her advice!

I got there with my girlfriend, we didn’t have a reservation. We got the ugly table by the umbrella stand. Immediately after a customer left, the waiter asked us if we wanted to move. Very nice and friendly staff! The meal was excellent! I ate the pizza with mushrooms and truffle oil. Unbelievable! Totally recommended! Price was great for the service and food! Check this restaurant if you got the chance! PD: I checked out the others people dishes. They looked great!

Small, crowded, food was ehhhhh Went there for dinner had the Gemini pizza(ham and pineapple) which was ok but I’ve had way better. I hate that they don’t cut it for you which forces you to struggle with their pizza dough which is soft in the middle and hard to cut but very crunchy on the edges so I it wasn’t appetizing. The waiter was extra friendly which wasn’t welcomed actually as it was more flirty and didn’t allow for a peaceful meal in a crowded restaurant. Bottom line, not for me. Maybe for you but I won’t be back.

The food here is good and the service is good, but we felt like we were packed in there like sardines. It’s a little difficult to enjoy a meal, no matter how good, when you are only inches away from the people sitting next to you. Anyhow, if you are there, starving and tired of walking around, then go ahead and have your meal there. It’ll still be good. But plan ahead a little better next time and you won’t have to eat your dinner as if you were in a closet.

This was our first meal in Venice and it was very memorable. We ordered Bruschetta for appetizer and it was extremely fresh, the olive oil was strong and flavorful. For first courses we had pasta with cuttlefish ink and pesto pasta with beans and shrimp. The pasta was al dente and bursting with flavor. For second course we shared seafood mix with polenta. Finally, not to be outdone, the desserts were out of this world. On the house, all guests also received a small appetizer and lemoncello in a chocolate cup. I definitely recommend this place while in Venice. If you don’t have a reservation, arrive when they open. The place is small and was packed within minutes of opening.

Toller Service, sehr gutes Essen, gute Wein Empfehlung und besondere Atmosphäre. Dieser kleine Laden zwischen den Gassen nahe Rialto hat uns sehr zu gesagt. Es ist keine Schickeria aber auch keine einfache Pizzeria. Später am Abend sollte man reservieren da der Laden nicht groß ist und vor der Tür die nächsten warten. Wir können besonders die carbonara mit Scampi empfehlen. Das Schokoladen Soufflé muss aber nicht sein, da ist das Tiramisu deutlich besser!

Ein kleines, klimatisiertes Restaurant nahe der Rialtobrücke. Hier gibt es sehr gutes italienisches Essen: Pizza, Pasta, Fisch, Sprizz, Rotwein usw. Viele Kellner, alle sehr(kinder-)freundlich und serviceorientiert. Kurze Wartezeiten, da aufmerksam. Es gibt ein Amuse bouche(bei meinem Besuch Wassermelone mit Schafskäse in Cräcker). Einen Brotkorb gibt es vorneweg. Die weiße Pizza mit Rucola war fantastisch, der Tunfisch erstklassig. Man sitzt etwas enger, es herrscht eine entspannte Stimmung. Preise für Venedig und Rialtobrückennähe erstaunlich günstig. Absolute Emopfehlung!

We ate here at the end of my trip between Venice and Florence, and this may have been my favorite pizza in Italy. It was extremely flavorful and delicious — the flavors seemed amped up a bit from the other pizzas we had. We had the Ariete and Vegetable pizzas, a salad and dessert. Casual atmosphere, great variety in the menu, middle of the road prices, and a very yummy desert of the lemon gelee meringue.

Came here after seeing the reviews and pictures on Unilocal,but was very disappointed… I wonder if it’s a change in management or that the current menu just isn’t quite as splendid because of the seasonal ingredients. Ingredients for pizza were canned and made the center soggy. Had a better slice for 3 € down the street :/ Also there is a 12% cover charge to be aware of. Plus side: air conditioning and wifi

I ate lunch at Da Mamo Trattoria Pizzeria in Venice, Italy on 3 July 2015. It was my 1st time there. I had their Da Mamo pizza(14.00 Euros) plus water and a Coke so my total bill was 22.68 Euros. Best to make reservations as I was turned down the day before because it was booked. 15 minutes after I was there at opening it was full as well. One of the best pizza’s I’ve ever had. It was a good place except 12% extra charge for taxes+service. Service was not that good enough compare to any other restaurants in Italy. venice is the last place for us in Italy, so we can compare it to any other restaurants in Italy. Pizza is good in this restaurant, but the cuttlefish ink pasta is too simple. I can rarely see any seafood pieces. Looks like just a handful of noodles with black sauce. It tastes ok. The cuttlefish pasta at Trattoria dal Billy in Manarola, Cinque Terre is way way way better. Full of seafoods and better sauce. Seafood fry dish is very expensive here, € 18. Tastes just ok. This is the only place where asked extra 12% charges. We traveled Cinque Terre, Pisa, Florence, Rome, and many cities of France. We were not asked to pay extra 12%. In Rome, at Alessio restaurant near Termini, a male server asked us to give him a tip. We always order a bottle of water and wine with a lot of food though. Anyway pizza was good. We’ve never tried pizza in the restaurant. Today we are going to pick up some pizza from Antico Forno, then we can compare.

Clearly the Indian wait staff is internet savvy and likes to make positive Unilocal reviews for themselves and the food. The cold dry chalky bread which we had to ask for when the table next to us that ordered one minute before us was given theirs tasted like it was shipped over from a factory somewhere hundreds of miles away. The scallops weren’t trimmed properly. There were only two minuscule pieces of cuttle fish in my cuttle fish pasta and my companions pasta dish tasted like it came out of a box and was seasoned with only chicken base/bullion. Get away from the tourist area and find someplace that’s worth your money and will actually deliver a pleasant dining experience. This place deserves zero stars.

WOW! Truly an unforgettable dinning experience. My husband and I went here for honeymoon in June 2013 and I still can’t get this meal out of my head! We were walking around the city and experiencing all of the wonderful history. We wanted to find a restaurant that really caught our eye and was local. Since Unilocal isn’t very well know out there, we had little to go off of… so instead we found the restaurant that had the longest line! We passed up plenty of others until we went down an ally way, poked our heads in here and KNEW it was«the one». The atmosphere is spectacular, the employees are knowledgeable and extremely nice! We didn’t know any Italian, and they were still very kind to us and told us exactly what to get. My dad, being an Italian chef has made some pretty incredible dishes in his lifetime, so when it comes to Italian food, I feel like I know«what’s up». We ordered Bruschetta that was wonderful. Fresh basil, olive oil, and the most flavorable tomatoes. We both ordered pizza; I got the truffle mushroom pizza that was literally the best dish I have ever had in my entire life! They did not skimp on the truffle oil… and ate the entire pie with my knife and fork. Mmm. My husband got the anchovy pizza which he said was the best he has ever had. I’ll take his word on that one. We drank delicious local wines, had amazing conversations with other people sitting close by, and was given a complementary dessert shot. Absolutely, hands down the best meal I have had since being born! If we ever get the chance to travel here again, this will be our first stop! I promise this place will not disappoint… we were also seated almost immediately! We felt like celebrities here and were treated like family… Oh how I dream of this place.

This could possibly be the best pizza I’ve ever had… and I didn’t even order it! On a very rainy evening, we headed out in hope of a great meal. I had read good things on Unilocal and this was our very last dinner in Italy, so I hoped it was going to be good one. Also being our last meal, I had to go out with a pasta dish, because let’s be honest, that was all I ever wanted to order. I’m not a pizza hater by any means, I just like pasta better. So my hubby ordered the pizza gemini(they have pizza’s named based off the zodiac), which is ham, gorgonzola, red sauce and pinneapple. I ordered the carbonara. While the carbonara was good, once I tried a slice of my hubbys pizza, I realized I had chosen wrong. It was incredible. Best meal of the whole Italian trip. Maybe. Close. And I proceeded to eat the rest of his pizza. No lie. But I loved everything about the experience, from the tiny tomato appetizer they serve you complimentary, to the hole in a wall atmosphere, to the excellent house wine. We took full advantage of our last night. To end the trip, we had to get what dessert Venice is known for. the tiramisu. It was different than I’d ever had before, thinner, but still fantastic tasting. It was soaked with espresso and more wafer like than a cake like tiramisu I’ve had in the US. Wonderful experience and best pizza ever!

Encouragés par les avis positifs au sujet du restaurant nous avons décidé d’y pousser la porte. Évidemment les bons restos se faisant désirer, nous constatons à notre arrivée que celui-ci est complet(19h45). Qu’à cela né tienne une petite résa sur place et rendez-vous est pris une heure plus tard. À notre retour la table est dispo et le personnel très accueillant. Le repas était très bon(pasta & pizza), accompagné par des amuses bouches avant la commande et des petites douceurs chocolat/crème pour les enfants et chocolat/liqueur pour les grands au moment de l’addition. À noter en plus le petit geste commercial de réduction de 2,44 € pour avoir un compte rond à 95 € pour 4. Bref un établissement qui mérite ses 5 étoiles !!

Another restaurant that made me lose a little faith in online reviews. With glowing ratings on tripadviser and Unilocal,my husband and I stopped in for lunch on our last full day in Venice. The restaurant was empty and we were hesitant to be seated. We decided to stick it out nevertheless, how wrong can over a thousand reviews be? I went with seabass ravioli with shrimp sauce while my husband went with calf’s liver with polenta(another Venetian special). As we waited for our food, I noticed our waiter was more interested on checking our his shoes and chatting with his co workers. While all the nearby tables had received their bread basket and amuse bouche, we were simply forgotten. When our food finally arrived, I noticed my ravioli were still somewhat uncooked. They were doughy and inedible. Additionally, there was no trace of seabass. Cheese ravioli? I would had believed. My husband’s calf’s liver was drenched in oil. He stomached 3 pieces and called it a day. His polenta was so burnt that only the center could be eaten. Overall — It was the perfect diet meal for us to get gelato nearby.
