There’s at least 4 ways for a Tourist to find a place for Lunch in Venice: 1. Pick up a Tour Book of your choice and take one of their recommendations. 2. Do the same thing on TripAdvisor, Gogobot, Unilocal,or another review site. 3. Find the most crowded and touristy place available, get in the line and enjoy! 4. Wander around off the beaten track, pick a place, and just sit down. Eric, Gayle, Jim, and I picked Option 4 most of the time and Nuova Valiglia was a Sunday Lunch choice after a long and fascinating tour of the Doge’s Palace. We sat outside and enjoyed a reasonably tasty, yet mostly forgettable meal. OK, I remember pizza, beer, a decent Tourist menu, reasonable service, and walking over to a back canal and watching the gondola traffic while we waited.
