A locals favorite! Great food and service. Best way to order is to ask what they recommend for the day. If you’re looking for spaghetti and meat balls, you’re not at the right place. The«Tortino di Orata con Cipolle Rosse di Tropea» was a delicious appetizer to start with. Our server then recommended calamari and zucchine pasta… yum! Their fritture di pesce e verdure(deep fried fish and veggies) was also great. I recommend this place if you’re into tasting the local cuisine.

The scallops in hot foaming chili butter are the best I’ve ever tasted, and coming from an English fishing village that’s saying something. Followed by prawns with radicchio which were also superb. Delicious local white wine, and husband’s spaghetti a la vongole also first rate. Quite a few locals in for lunch which is always a good sign, and even a flamboyant Italian family row to enliven coffee. Absolute gem off the beaten track slightly, wonderful food and old fashioned service.

We arrived with ideas of grandeur and fine Venetian cuisine at an affordable price but instead we found a grumpy owner/waiter with little patience and an extremely basic, and not cheap, meal. The fish and potatoes was exactly that, a sautéed fish fillet with some scattered potatoes. The ambiance leaves much to wish for with the bright lights and verticals wooden benches. I would suggest a short venture in any direction from this restaurant as the food seems to be excellent just about anywhere else. My $ 0.02…
