We dined at a restaurant two minutes away yesterday and I could not stomach the food(stale and tasteless). I will name them in another review. Today we ordered the four cheese pizza, lasagne, and gnocchi and everything was delicious! The service was fast and the waiter was very professional. I only wish we had found this place yesterday! There is a very nice«Igloo Ice Cream» restaurant next door which is a nice place to have dessert. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to hungry tourists and travelers.

The service was terrible. The waiter seemed to have something else better to do than to serve us-barely ever looked at us and was in a rush to leave. Did not come over to us until we stood up and waived him over. The only reason we came here was because it was pouring and near our hotel. The menu is also one page but is given to you in a book because there are ten different languages. Obviously a tourist trap. Never again!

Accueil correct mais pas toujours souriant. Plats servis rapidement, à base de produits frais. En fait un bon snack pour déjeuner rapidement à un prix bas.

Terrible and cheap quality. I didn’t think it was possible to have a horrible pizza in Italy. Nothing was fresh. Very disappointing.

Lackluster service, so-so food, and no soap or paper towels/dryer in the bathroom. So… where do your cook and your waiter wash their hands after using the toilet?

NOCHEESEFORYOU! My wife and I stopped here and ordered a pizza. It was pretty watery so my wife asked for some parmesan cheese and the waitress said NO and walked away. We would have paid for it, but it was out of the question. Don’t bother with this place. Poor service and mediocre food. There are too many places in Venice to waste your time here.

I wasn’t that hungry but was craving for vegetables. :) Salad here was mediocre… I mean you can’t mess it up… it was just lettuce with corn and mushrooms(canned mushrooms btw). I added olive oil and vinegar. Didn’t try anything else because the service was terrible. The waiters were rude and all seemed annoyed that we were there in the first place. I would never recommend this place. we left in a terrible mood after a great morning in Venice. It was unfortunate that we wandered into this place. Pizza looked good but I’m sure you can find just as good pizza with much better service elsewhere.

Von außen schon recht anstechendes Restaurant und auch beim hinein sehen denkt man nichts schlechtes … Also rein da und lecker essen…

It sucks balls. Serio, these places for tourists should drown: Italian food is too great to cheer our tourists with this crap! Not real Italian, poorly made. The guys that work here are nice but. Don’t go!

My husband and I walked by this restaurant and noticed that it was full of people. Assuming it must be a good place, we walked in with no reservations. We got seated right away and were given menus in English. We ordered the house wine, calamari, seafood spaghetti and spaghetti with meat sauce. The calamari was probably the best one. The spaghetti was too dry for me since I like my spaghetti with lots of sauce. The food was mediocre. Not bad, not that great either. Most likely, I won’t be coming back. I’m sure there’s other places in Venice that serves better food.

It is, in fact, the extent to which this restaurant was horrible that compelled me to take time out of my day to create a Unilocal account and write this review. I have nothing positive to say about this joke of an establishment. Every dish I and my party had was horrendous. This included the lasagna, gnocchi, and multiple pastas. Each dish disappointed in its own unique way, but what remained consistent among every dish was its poor quality, as well as its small serving size, which bordered on ridiculous. I would have commented on the pizza if the waiter had ever brought it to us. Fear not, however; he still attempted to charge us for the phantom pizza. The service was terrible in too many ways to elicit here. If you value your money or your dignity, do not allow the slick owners of this scam of a restaurant to draw you in with their red-flag-raising multilingual menus. The only positive thing that came from our overwhelmingly negative experience was that we were able to save several prospective customers by audibly informing them of the poor quality of the restaurant. I beg you to heed my advice: do not, under any circumstances, eat here. You’d be better off eating your money, coins and all.

This restaurant has to be paying TripAdvisor. It is absolutely terrible– a complete tourist trap with menus in 7 different languages. The lasagna was laughably small as were the pasta dishes. My Coke was 4 € in a small glass with a lot of ice. Better than still water which was 5 €. Please go somewhere better in Venice. There are places right down the street that are cheaper, more authentic, and have better wifi.

Nikhil got the review exactly right. This was by far the worse food we had in weeks in Italy. The food was barely edible and not even heated through. The service was not much better. Save your money and find something else.

Came here on holiday with my wife, pretty much at random and went in based on the sheer volume of people already being served(and the very reasonable prices). It was only after sitting and using the free wifi that we discovered it was so well regarded by other people online. This place is very reasonably prices, we had two cokes, a bruschetta to share and two plates of pasta for 38 euros including the service charge. Good and quick service, with an English language menu that included both some traditional Italian food as well as food that want something more American/British(i.e. they do a burger too).

9 days, around three meals per day, and not a single worse dining experience than at this place. I honestly have no idea why this restaurant gets the reviews it does. Keep note of the trip advisor phenomenon of restaurants rated highly, being visited more often, getting more reviews, and rising in the ranks of trip advisor fame. This definitely has hit that phase, and their attitude towards patrons reflected that entirely. The waiters were admittedly very busy, but… But, but, they had way too few people working, didn’t seem like they gave two beans for very(very) concise questions(«is that spicy?»), and trying to get our check at the end of our meal was like whack-a-mole. My wife and I had to ask three times, finally her getting up to track down the Waiter, Who pointed in some other random direction that it was the other guys job. The food… Ridiculously plain. Like truly, truly plain for the price paid and the quality of Italian food universally around this city. It was just so average and lacking anything special(ordered two pastas), and the seafood risotto was actually so bad we didn’t even eat it. Rice was clumpy, glutinous, completely lacked all flavor, and was just horrible. That’s like the cardinal rule of how to make risotto… Even an American guy knows that! AVOID. It was painful to see people flooding in here, especially with the opportunities to have such better food. And the attitude of the waitstaff was the perfect sucker punch to remind us what a bad choice we had made for a meal.

2.5 stars. We had one hour and a half for lunch. Plenty of time, right? Well come here if you have unlimited time because they sure like to be leisurely in Italy. Let me just say that the pizza here was outstanding. Probably 4 stars for the pizza. The crust was perfectly seasoned. The toppings were fine and there are a list of different types of pizzas to choose from. A pizza can feed one person or two depending on levels of hunger. Our group of 5 ordered a few pizzas and one person ordered the prix fixe. All of us got our pizzas right away and the first entrée in the prix fixe. As the rest of us were finishing our pizzas, our friend finished his plate of spaghetti. Then we waited and waited. The guy who sat us, walked by and asked us if we needed our check. We explained that we were still waiting on our friend’s 2nd course entrée, which had never arrived after 45 minutes. He also had a cappuccino included in his prix fixe that never arrived. At this point we wanted to leave because we had a gondola ride that was scheduled at 2:15 pm. Then, our server(different guy) brought out the second course, but we told him that we needed the check. He took offense saying that the dish was already made and plated, indicating that we had to eat it before leaving. It was evident that he had forgotten because the other guy told him that we never received that course and he probably got yelled at for it. Fine, we’ll still pay for it, but box it up because we want the check. It’s not like we can eat it in our hotel room either(see Hotel Michelangelo review ). Sometimes, I wish that Italians weren’t so easily offended. We should have explained that we were on a time crunch. By the time we had paid and left the restaurant, we had 5 minutes to get to Piazza San Marco, which is impossible if you don’t know how to navigate Venice. And we got lost and missed our tour group. I mean, we RAN through the alleys of Venice like we were in the Amazing Race, asking people left and right how to get to St. Mark’s while panicked and out of breath. At one point, there was a T– intersection where a sign pointed in both directions to Piazza San Marco. Because, that’s helpful. We ran through Piazza San Marco and upset the pigeons who flew up wildly as we passed. «You are the last team to arrive. I am sorry to tell you that you have been eliminated from the race.» We missed a pre-paid gondola ride because of one irritated waiter. Yeah, still a little bitter about it.
Finally I had pizza in Italy. My sister in law had told me how different the pie is here compared to what we are use to. On our last day in Venice, some locals had told us to come here for pizza. When we found it we could tell we made the right choice, the place was jammed packed. Luckily, there was only two of us and they found a table for us. It is very casual and the dining area is tight so if you want privacy this is not the place to come to. Literally the two couples on each side of us were about one foot from us. I didn’t mind, give me wine, give me a pie and I will be fine. We started with a bottle of wine which was reasonable. The tables are covered with your typical red and white tablecloths just like you see in most pizzeria’s. The staff are friendly. They have pizza and pasta on their menu with a large variety of specialty pizza’s. I chose the Spicy Italian sausage and mushroom pizza. In ample time are pizza arrived to the table. We asked the server for some oil because in Italy they barely put any sauce on the pizza and it looked a bit dry. OMG, now the best part, server brings over the bottle of oil and warned us that it is spicy. Oh how I wish I knew how they made it. I poured this oil on every slice. It was super spicy. It gave the pizza such great flavor. The pizza is very thin, light sauce, not much cheese, sausage was fresh and had good flavor, fresh mushrooms, and huge. We laughed and said we could have only ordered one to share. Hubby had no problem finishing his. Great place, good service, with very reasonable prices especially for the area.

Al Vaporetto wasn’t to expensive(considering Venice prices), but the food wasn’t anymore than mediocre neither. The pasta was as in most places in Venice not spiced very well, my main which was roasted turkey was actually four slices of roasted turkey as you would eat on a bread, in a lot of olive oil. Even for 8 Euro, that was a pretty bad joke and if wouldn’t have been to baffled I would have returned it. I would definately not recommend the place. Payed 25 Euro for 2 persons(2x pasta, one main, water).

One of the problems with Venice is that the food seems to be at different ends of the cost spectrum — either widely expensive, or grab a slice of pizza and eat while walking for a couple of euros. When I was visiting I had a deadline of getting back to the train station by 19.30 so it was also quite important to find somewhere that could serve up food pretty quickly. In the backstreets(actually that pretty much sums up most of Venice) we found Al Vaporetto. The food is standard italian fayre — pizza, pasta, etc — however the prices are very good for Venice. It is a seated restaurant, and the waiters were very good when we explained that we had only an hour to get our last train back. The pizza was great(I love salami on my pizza) and they also helped with directions to the nearest water bus. Perfect end to the day.
