My family and I came here. We did not have a reservation in this busy restaurant, but the owner met us at the door and got us a table for 5. We started with a ham appetizer that was very very good. The waiter suggested the red wine«Cabreo», which is a blend that was fantastic! For dinner I had the Pici, which is the best pasta meal I have ever had in my entire 47 years of living. My 14 year old daughter said that she would have that as her last meal. We also loved the Ravioli stuffed with pear and pecorino. The potatoes from the lamb chops were described as baked, but were heavenly. My other daughter thought the wild boar tagliatelle was the most tender and delicious meat she’s ever had. This was an amazing meal, we highly recommend it and we would definitely return for more.

My wife, mother, and I came here without reservations hoping to get in. The owner looked around the crowded restaurant and gave us a table for three which was perfect. I wanted to go here to be taken care of gastronomically and was not at all disappointed. First, amazing service. Our waiter catered to our dietary, gluten free, limitations, making sure meals were gluten free. We had a 2013 Chianti Classico for € 35 which was above average. We started with capresse which was beautiful. The tomatoes were fresh, buffalo mozzarella was firm and flavorful, and, being in Tuscany, it came with basil. I immensely enjoyed the flavorful mashed potatoes and veal cheek. The meat melted when chewing and was incredibly flavorful. My wife had the impressive sea bass which came with a platter full of perfectly steamed veggies. We also ordered white beans and spinach sides. You can skip these, unfortunately. Very bland and didn’t add anything to our meal. My mom had the egg plant parmigiana and gluten free pasta. She said they were great. Our waiter comped us with free dessert wine and free limoncello. We finished off with a flourless chocolate tort and crème brûlée. Crème brûlée was 3⁄5 stars. Bottom was set but rest was too runny, and very eggy. A couple of points to mention. Oddly, the owner did allow a street vendor carrying roses to come inside the restaurant and circle our tables, which was uncomfortable. Secondly, when we tried to pay by credit card, the owner came by and said the Internet was out and he couldn’t run our card. We came back the next day and paid our bill with cash since we still couldn’t pay by card. The owner, without us asking, did give us a free bottle of prosecco for the hassle. Make sure to ask if you’re going with li a day or two of this review. Total ended up being € 160 for three of us. Overall, great service, great food, great night. 5 stars though I’ve had perfect sides before which complemented the meal. And have had better crème brûlée. But really, you can’t go wrong here.

This restaurant was beyond amazing. Must GO! If I ever find myself here again this would be my first stop. To start the service was so welcoming, charming and friendly a true delight. To follow the food was the best!!! I had the pear ravioli, my fiancée had the pici pasta w/bacon. We then tried to share a bisteca– most amazing piece of meat i’ve had since my visit to Argentina. This thing is huge feeds 4 people easily, cant wait for the leftovers. Amazing find thanks to hotel concierge, but we were very prescriptive that we wanted something away from touristy more local and reserved. —– Definitivamente volveria a Florencia por comer en este restaurante. La comida divina y el servicio no pudo ser mejor! No te lo pierdas!

We found this restaurant just by chance. It was late at night and most restaurants were closing. We were starving and about to give up when we saw the lights on at this place. We asked if they were still seating people and someone came outside to warmly welcome us in. The meal was like a dream. The restaurant was still full of people. The staff was so warm and friendly that we felt like we were visiting our long lost family(the movie version that always says the right thing). The food was excellent! The wine suggestions were perfect. The only reason we hesitated to write this review is because we selfishly wanted to keep this restaurant all for ourselves.

I was in Italy to get married(yay!) and my husband and I drove to Florence for the first day of our honeymoon. With all the excitement and travel, we failed to make a reservation for our first dinner(oops). We walked a short distance and stopped at Parione because the inside looked so beautiful and romantic. Although they were completely packed, we were greeted by the owner. I highly recommend making a reservation, but they somehow managed to squeeze us in to an amazingly romantic table. Our experience only got better from here, as we were given Otto as our waiter(the term«Dinner Concierge» would be more appropriate). He not only made us laugh, but was also incredibly knowledgeable and helpful with the menu and making suggestions. We had the sea bass and the tuna, both were presented impeccably and tasted amazing. Overall, we just had the best time and I would highly suggest Parione Ristorante as an intimate stop on your Florence vacation. Bonus points if Otto helps you :)

We were looking for a great steak night and the pictures here looked amazing! The night started out with a short wait while they prepared a table in the downstairs wine cellar(totally worth it!), this was not a problem because I got a chance to watch the kitchen work, as it’s the first thing you see when arriving! The head chef(Giovanni) noticed my enthusiasm and after a few minutes he motioned for me to come close to the kitchen and handed me 3 pieces of chicken liver crostini! I was so excited about this because this was the one thing I wanted to try but hadn’t, because my wife was not interested in trying it. It was wonderful and I enjoyed all three pieces! Our waiter, Gianni was extraordinary! The pici pasta was pretty good, tomatoes and bacon over spaghetti with a light broth. The steak was enormous, pre-sliced off the bone, with a huge helping of potatoes that were to die for! For my personal taste the steak was slightly under cooked. Completely raw throughout most of the steak. I understand that is just how steak is done here and I ended up taking a large portion of the raw meat and cutting it up into small chunks like tartare and it was good! My wife loved the steak just how it came. After dinner we were treated to limoncello and grappa. Then, Giovanni, who had given me the crostini earlier, came down to see how are meal was and opened a new bottle of limoncello he had made that morning, having a drink with us. We ended up sharing photos with Gianni of our dogs and his daughter. It was just a lovely evening all around!

Atmosphere was nice and food was great, as was the service. It’s too bad that we experienced the following: As we sat down, another foreign couple were paying their bill and although the bill included an added 10% service, the server said that was for the house, not him. Sitting down at the same table 10 minutes later was an Italian man. He enjoyed his meal and when he paid, the server said nothing. Then it was our turn and again, the server gave his same line that the 10% went to the house. Bottom line, the food was great, his service and recommendations were good as well, and we would’ve left him something anyways, but don’t try to take advantage of your customers!

I have had this place twice now and the service is what stands out the most, second would be the dessert, it was the best dessert I have ever had in my life! I will definitely be back when I visit Florence again!

The best meal we had in all of Italy! We sat in the wine cellar, ordered the Florentine steak and could not have had a better dinner. The hotel concierge recommended it after we asked for a place locals eat(aka not touristy). This place exceeded our expectations. I would literally just fly back to Italy just to eat here again! GOGOGO!

MUSTVISIT!!! Without having a reservation, and on a busy night, myself along with 3 others were sat down and treated to one of the best(if not the best) dinners we have had in Florence. Our waiter Otto was exceptional and I highly recommend requesting him, and will absolutely return to Parione when we visit Florence again.

Great ambiance. The lower level is dimly lit, and looks like a wine cellar. Request the lower level if you can! It looked fun. We had great ravioli and Florentine Steak. The Florentine Steak for € 60 could feed three to five people. Sadly, as two, we were not able to finish all of it. It was cooked to perfection. Perfectly medium rare, with the best flavor and char grill. Mmmm, I can clearly imagine it as I write this. It’s definitely a great one to order.

I dont normally write reviews but this is worth my time and time for you to make a reservation here. I know good food, however dont claim to be some pompus food buff either. Its definitely one of those places you wont find on your own unless you get lost. The menu is just the right size with enough diversity for everyone. The owner is the type of guy thats always smiling and will have no problem checking with you to make sure you are happy(many places you never get that). Gianni was our waiter and i believe has worked here several years(we sat downstairs in the wine cellar). Honestly the guy gave my wife and I the best service of our lives. If I ever have a son I will name him Gianni based on last night alone. It is the type of restaurant where the people and owner go out of their way to make it an enjoyable experience and will do anything for you no questions asked. No need to keep looking as this place should give you nothing to complain about. It might not be a 5 star restaurant but who gives a shit its worth a 5 star review and that should be good enough for anyone. Get there and see for yourself.

When I ordered the Picci pasta I got a wink, nod and a thumbs up from our incredible server, so I knew it was going to be good. I was wrong– It was mind blowing. Everything else our party of 5 got here was stellar– from the sirloin to the ‘simple’ pasta special with the just-in-season porcini mushrooms a little olive oil, herbs and not much else that didn’t need to be on the plate(hence why it was so damn good). A must-go in Florence.

For my 600th review I am happy that it is for this wonderful Trattoria Parione. I often do not trust recommendations from my hotel concierge, but at the Westin Florence Excelsior I had no doubt that they would send me to a fantastic place. In the basement wine cellar with my fellow Hoyas we were treated to a fantastic evening. I had the linguini with lobster that was an extraordinary dish. I did not have the Florentine steak or osso bucco, but everyone really enjoyed their meals. The white beans, and oven roasted potatoes were cooked to perfection! For dessert the Italian cheesecake was as light as the heavens! Oh, I must return to this restaurant at some point in my lifetime! Florence – If you make it to this restaurant you will not be disappointed!

Do not miss out on this charming restaurant during your trip to Florence. My husband and I turned a week-long trip to Italy for a wedding into our own belated honeymoon. We had several friends in town with us, and decided to dedicate one night’s dinner at Trattoria l’Parione to our honeymoon — best decision ever. The owner was able to get us a table downstairs in the all-brick wine cellar after we waited for about 30 minutes. He also served us prosecco while we waited, which was an unexpected but much appreciated touch. While we were waiting, there were several American couples who were leaving and clearly knew the owner well, seeming to visit Florence and the restaurant frequently. One couple walked up to make a reservation several nights in advance and I overheard the wife tell the owner it wouldn’t be a trip to Florence without dinner at his restaurant. With all the positive energy during our wait, I was very excited to get seated and start the meal. We got a charming table downstairs in the all-brick wine cellar. While we enjoyed the delicious bread and olive oil that was provided for us, my husband selected a bottle of red wine. For our first course I had the Pappardelle al sugo di cinghiale(pappardelle with boar sauce), which was my favorite boar dish of the trip. There was a touch of heat at the end of each bite and crisp-cooked thick bacon as a garnish. My husband ordered Spaghetti alla chitarra con astice(spaghetti with prawns) and it was an even more flavorful sauce than the boar. Honestly, we probably could have eaten those two dishes every night while we were in Florence. For our second course, we split the Ossobuco, which was literally falling off the bone it was so tender. The sauce wasn’t at all overpowering but added a delicious, rich wine flavor to the meat. For dessert we ate the most amazingly velvety cheesecake drizzled with berry sauce and two glasses of prosecco from Sicily. As we were leaving, we thanked our waiter profusely for his impeccable service and then thanked the owner for squeezing us in. He was so happy to hear we were on our honeymoon and had loved our dinner that he sent us home with a bottle of wine. I will 100% return to Trattoria l’ Parione every time I’m in Florence — although I would HIGHLY recommend making reservations.

Fantastic restaurant with great service. The waiter was really friendly and made some great recommendations for food and wine. I selected osso bucco with black rice — super tender, huge portion(almost American in portion). The waiter recommended Rosso de Montepulciano by the glass to go with the lamb shank and it was excellent — not too heavy to overwhelm the food but just enough to balance the sauce of the lamb shank. Very happy camper after the meal.

Absolutely fantastic meal at Il Parione, our favorite in Florence. We secured a last minute reservation around 8:15 with the help of our hotel. We were seated in the basement which had a dark, cozy, wine-cellar atmosphere. The restaurant is located on a somewhat quieter street as well. We started with the charcuterie and cheese platter. A great, fresh selection and liked the addition of the fresh pears and honey, a bit different from other platters. Afterwards we had 2 of the best pasta dishes we tried in all of Italy. The pici with tomatoes and bacon and the gnocchi with buffalo mozzarella. The gnocchi was amazing and different, maybe the best I’ve tasted. For entrée we shared the osso bucco. So tender and amazing flavor, loved the sauce it was served with. For dessert we shared the cheesecake and it was 5 stars. I know it is a bit surprising, some of the best cheesecake I’ve had and I’m eating in Florence, but it is true!!! I would order the same exact meal if I dined there again, truly awesome. With a decent bottle of red and a shared glass of dessert wine the bill was about 120 eur. We loved the meal here. Service was friendly. Ambiance was fantastic, cozy, and quiet. It didn’t feel touristy at all even though you were in Florence. Food, especially the pasta courses were some of the best we had in Italy. Highly recommend.
