Being such a multiethnic street, you tend to skip this entrance when you pass by looking for a place to eat. In fact it’s just a pretty white vintage scraped window door with a soft colored sign saying Il Gourmet(from the French The finest quality). Opened about 20 years ago, it’s a traditional Tuscanian restaurant that has meat dishes only. Sometimes they make great deals online and you can eat fish or other specialties out of the classic menu. The ambiance is demi white, green plants and bright colored still lives hanging on the walls, luminous, high ceiling and a full bar. Very quiet, they serve schiacciata while waiting for the main courses to arrive, but they are pretty fast. Caterina, the waitress, told us the best dish on the menu is the famous Florentine steak, that can be done with balsamic vinegar or mustard and cherry tomatoes or olive oil and rosemary. She says it’s pretty epic and to be eaten rare, as tradition wants here. We all had a seafood dinner bought through Groupon and it was delicious, also very inventive.
