My absolute favorite pub in the country of Ireland. They don’t serve their famous lamb stew at lunch time. Our wonderful waitress however was able to get me a large bowl, as it was already simmering for the dinner crowd. Huge chunks of tender lamb, along with the freshest vegetables I ever had made me want to find a realtor to buy a house within walking distance of this great place. A lot of locals know where to find the coldest beers and terrific food and friendly service. Not to many tourist.

We had deep fried chunks of Brie and really enjoyed the Irish bacon and cabbage. The place was clean, not too loud, and service was nice but not overbearing.

There is no end to the pubs in tiny Killarney(well 48 actually!). We decided we wanted pub food, and this one came highly recommended. We understand why! First, the place is beautiful and inviting. The servers are even prettier, and excited about their fare. The food was out of his world. From the Seafood Chowder to the Sauteed Kidneys over Tomato Bruschetta, to the smothered Potato Cakes, and the Monkfish in a Red Curry Sauce, our meal was top notch. We even saved a big of room for dessert, and the Sherry Trifle was tremendous. All in all, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Great little pub in the heart of Killarney! Food was much better than expected. Had the traditional potato cake with chicken and it was phenomenal.

Great pub in the heart of Killarney town. The open fire and friendly service as well as tasty pub grub make this place hard to leave. An afternoon on the high stool should be spent nowhere else!

We enjoyed our happy hour! We only stopped in for a couple beers before dinner, but it was a really neat building on the inside. Some of the food people ordered around us looked tasty, but it was a tad on the expensive side for our liking.

I really enjoyed The Laurels because I’d read about it before I arrived, and it lived up to the hype. The food is generally very good, the pints are pints and the service is great. The bartenders are friendly and always willing to joke with the customers. Con O’Leary, the owner, is one of the warmest and friendliest people I’ve ever met. If I’m ever in Killarney again I will most definitely visit The Laurels. View their website and read the history. It adds a whole new level to just going to a pub.

This place was recommended to us by the owner of the gift shop next door. He warned us it was kind of late(almost 8pm) and they might be done serving food. Luckily for us they weren’t. My wife and I shared the seafood chowder as an appetizer. Very creamy and fresh tasting. It came with a few pieces of brown bread which was perfect for soaking up the last few bits. For my entrée I had the broiled pork in a creamy parsley suace with cabbage and carrot, potato and turnip purée. The pork was cooked a bit longer than it should have been but still very good. The cabbage, purée and sauce were really good. My wife had traditional potato cakes with chicken and ham. She thought it was delicious and I agree. I wish I would have gotten that, though I don’t regret my choice at all. The service was OK, could have been better but it was very busy, so it’s understandable. The ambiance is nice. Looks and feels just like a pub. The price was very reasonable, about 40 euros(including 15% tip and no alcohol). I would certainly recommend this place was someone staying in town.

Ok place. The bartenders were fairly attentive and the prices were average for Ireland. Closed the place down one night.

On my first trip to Killarney, I came across this pub with a good friend. The atmosphere was lovely, the food delicious. I thought about it for a year fondly and had to go back. I still laugh thinking about the wood cracking and flying out of the fireplace, my friend getting up to help, not knowing what to do and the bartender saying«so you fancy yourself a fireman, heh?» The food was still good, though it not being Christmas time, the place was much more crowded and the service was a bit slow, if not ignoring the tourists. I would still go to the Laurels, just know if it’s crowded, the service will be slow. You are on vacation right? Breathe and enjoy the show.

After leaving O’Connors due to a rude barkeep, I wandered in here at the suggestion of our tour guide. It is quiet. Literally, there isn’t much going on. They have a menu of food(and some of it sounded quiet good), but i just had a few pints while I was there. Good tap selection. Good whiskey selection. The barkeepers were polite and engaged in conversation. I also overheard two local women saying that The Laurel serves the cheapest glasses of beer on the block(then they each had 2 glasses of beer, which I just asked myself«why not just get the pint to begin with?»). It is a touristy bar, but there are a few locals that hang out in the back. The toilets were clean which made me happy.
