This is the perfect family-owned restaurant. The food is outstanding and much more reasonably priced than at the pubs around it. Superb friendly service and a quiet atmosphere make for a delightful experience. We ate here twice and both meals were outstanding. The first evening I had the pork with goat cheese and chorizo, and my fiancé had the baked Irish smoked salmon with Gruyère cheese. Both were out of this world! The second evening was Thanksgiving. The fiancé had scrumptious stuffed turkey and ham, and I had the delicious crispy duck with ginger orange sauce. The whole bill with tea and a pint of Guinness was less than 40 euro. We especially appreciated the baskets of soda bread. If you’re going to have standard pub fare, any pub in the area will do. But if you’re a foodie, go to Cronin’s!

Four of us had dinner. The Shepherd’s Pie was great as anticipated. The lamb cutlets were outstanding. The smoked hot salmon over scalloped potatoes were absolutely delicious. And for a small eater, the goat cheese salad was great. Not to forget the bread and butter, which we could not stop eating. For the price and service, this is was not disappointing and we would recommend to anyone passing through Killarney as a must place to eat.

Great place recommended by a local. This place had just a couple of veggie options for me on the menu and I opted for the lasagna(about 12 euros) which proved to be a tasty choice. The side salad had a nice variety of veggies and non iceberg lettuce which was a refreshing change from most Irish restaurants. The Irish soda bread they brought out was hearty and delicious too. Their prices were affordable and the meals were prepared very well. Family owned restaurant done the right way.

Nice lunch. Abundant food. Good service. Chicken special was a bit dry. Roast pork loin was tender and just good pub fare. I’d come back but there are many other places to try.

Good Irish cuisine, simple with local ingredients wonderful service. The prices are very reasonable. Had the lamb cutlets and Phil had the trio of fish both we would recommend as the were done to perfection and the rhubarb crumble is a great way to end your meal. A table near to us complained about their meal, one dis was the same as mine which I found no fault with. The food here is not made to impress but is satisfying and tasty, I would go back.

Shepherds pie hit the spot for me on a chilly December night! We enjoyed the food, the local atmosphere and the friendly staff. Great prices too.

By far the best food I’ve had during my whole half a month Europe trip. The service was great, super attentive and very friendly. The décor of the place is lovely, especially with Christmas decorations. I don’t think you can go wrong with anything that you order here but the b/f got the fish n chips and I got the smoked salmon. It was to dieee for! The smoke salmon came on top of cheesy hot potato scallops with such great flavoring along with a salad which was made fresh with a lovely vinaigrette. On top of that, the drinks came free with the entrees, and yes they were alcoholic drinks. ;) I also got the seafood chowder for an appetizer, if you are truly a fan of seafood, you would love this, huge pieces of fish and some mussels to go along with the great salty taste. I wish I could come back sooner!

Great family owned place in the heart of Killarney. I ordered the pork steak with goat cheese and was surprised how delicious it was. The next day while taking a tour of the Ring of Kerry, the local driver recommended Cronins as a great place to eat. Good enough for the locals good enough for me!

A couple of people in Killarney recommended Cronin’s Restaurant so we went to have some dinner. This is a family owned, traditional Irish restaurant that uses local ingredients. Nothing to dislike about that. We were seated in an upstairs dining room that was a fairly big space and had its own bar up there too. I ordered the house wine to start… I actually ordered the red and ended up with the white… but whatever, I like wine in general so I just drank it. My parents both got lasagna which I thought was odd but it seems to be on a lot of menus around. I am pretty sure I had whatever fish special they had going on. Everyone was pleased with dinner. Mine was served with mashed potatoes and vegetables and the lasagna was served with fries which amused my parents to no end. Service was friendly but again, I never got the hang of how to get their attention to get the bill. But I eventually managed to achieve this and the prices weren’t bad. Most entrees are in the 12 – 16 Euro range unless you get a steak which is pretty good in a tourist town that could really amp up the prices. Definitely a solid Irish restaurant to try while you are in Killarney.

One of the best burgers I had in Ireland(and I had quite a few in my two weeks). I sampled the Shepard’s Pie and found that tasty as well. Friendly service and a nice atmosphere, too. I was really glad that we stopped here.

Went to Cronins with a big group of people for an early dinner. I ordered the pork chops with an apple chutney. It came out a bit fatty and dry and I personally thought it lacked flavor. However two other people in my party got the same meal and enjoyed it. I may have just gotten a sub-standard chop. I didn’t really enjoy the two sides I got with it, fries and house salad. If it was just my food I was reviewing, I’d give two stars. But, everyone else seemed like they really enjoyed what they ate, especially th smoked salmon so that boosts the rating in my book

Decided to try this place out based on the amazing reviews… We were really disappointed. I’m not sure if we just ordered the wrong entrees? I had the beef burger… It was just meh. The fries were good, the burger was kinda weird tasting. Keep in mind, this was at the end of a two week Scotland/Ireland vacation and I was already seriously wary of the food so I was trying to order what I thought would be safe options. We tried the cheesy garlic bread which was so/so. There were two slices and one slice was basically burnt so we split the unburnt slice. My friend was very disappointed in her lamb entrée. There was a duck special that looked good… I’d actually avoid this place.

My wife and I had a wonderful dinner tonight at Cronin’s. A very diverse menu with many fine specials. My wife had their crispy duck and I had their pork chops and both were very well done. The crab leg starters were excellent. Great and reasonable wine special. Mostly locals dining here. Great Irish coffee and fine fudge cake with ice cream for desert. We have already book for 2 nights from now to go back. This place is worth a visit!

Meh… in a tourist heavy town I hoped to avoid the cheap and bad food for the masses so I relied strongly on the Unilocal reviews. Unfortunately, this time they failed me. The venue smelled strongly of cleaning supplies, which is offputting though not uncommon to Irish restaurants. Service was efficient but overly serious. Inspired us to want to quickly get it over with rather than settle in, order more and enjoy ourselves. The food itself was only okay. Chicken curry was nothing special and likewise the beef lasagna. Everything seemed to come with French fries. The smoked salmon starter was pretty good though. They have a special offer of a free glass of wine if you order a starter and a meal but the petty hitch is they all must be consumed by the same person. Ohhhhhkay…

Best garlic cheesy bread in Ireland. I’m from Gilroy, California — the«Garlic Capitol of the World» and I know quality garlic dishes. This ranks at the top. Service was excellent!

Lightning fast friendly service! We sat down and had a drink in hand with in 2 minutes. The Garlic Ciabbatta appitizer was delicious! 2 large pieces, enough for two people. It was really good. I’d come back just for that. For my main dish I had the Shepard’s Pie. It was also excellent. If I had more time in Killarney I would eat here again to try their other dishes. The fish & chips looked great.

I decided to go to Cronin’s to pay homage to my family name, and had a great evening in the process! I had the pork chop(€ 14), which was served with caramelised onions, an apple chutney and fresh veggies and mash. So delicious! My friend had the chicken supreme(€ 14), which had a very pleasant spicy kick to it. The red wine of the month was also great and was only € 17. The staff were very friendly, but they stop serving food around 9:30 so arrive a bit early. Will be back!

Cute, cozy little restaurant. Try the Shepherd’s pie. It comes with a small side salad and a portion of fries(lots of potatoes in one sitting but it was worth it). They also have a pretty extensive wine list but I just couldn’t pass up my pint of Guinness. Service was quick and friendly. No complaints here!
