Just had such a terrible experience at Urban Picnic. I ordered upon arrival and the girl who greeted me was lovely, but I could tell the owner was stressed and maybe shorthanded right away. I asked what soup it was, the girl asked him, and he retorted«what do you think it is.» Super unprofessional. It then took 30+ minutes to get my food, and they didn’t even bring me water while I waited(though I’d asked for it). I witnessed the owner turn away a woman because he was«too busy to take her order» and there were maybe 12 people in the restaurant including me. I was damn close to walking out as I was getting increasingly hangry, but against my better judgement I stayed. My food arrived, and the«roast vegetable wrap» had raw spinach, shredded carrots and green bell peppers. Not a roasted veg in sight. To top it off, they’re cash only. Super annoying. There are loads of better options in the area like Ugly Duckling a few doors down, Avoca a few streets away etc, so I won’t be back.

Popped in for lunch with two friends. Two of us had the roasted veg and spinach wrap and the other had a chicken tikka wrap and a mixed berry smoothie. We all finished every last bite, it was delicious and so reasonably priced. Was only 6 – 7 per meal. The staff were also lovely, definitely recommend.

Had the chicken tikka sandwich and it was average. Chicken was tasteless and rubbery. Service was good and location is lovely. Maybe I was just unlucky with my choice.

Urban Picnic is one of the best places to eat in Dublin. Awesome food, great service(often lacking in our service industry) and a great atmosphere. Located in the George’s Street Arcade, it’s a MUST visit. Oh and the desserts are to die for :-)

This place is a gem! I came across it about a year ago now, and I’ve been back numerous times. Do yourself a favour and try the prawn tempura served with mushy pea and wasabi sauce. The tempura prawn form a circle around a spicy vegetable noodle. It’s absolutely delish, and takes a while to come out as it’s all prepared freshly to order. It’s so delicious I literally order it every time I’m there! And it’s under a tenner. It’s perfect for lunch or dinner as the portions are generous and the noodles are filling. I’ve been with friends who tried other menu options, like the Thai green curry, or the warm chicken wrap, and they’ve been just as impressed. The chef obviously really cares about what he’s doing as all the dishes seem really well prepped and the customers happy. The desserts and coffee are delicious too, and really well presented. This is a modest café with rustic wooden benches, which normally would put me off, but the food is the draw. The staff are friendly and know their stuff. Like I said, it’s a gem!

I actually stumbled upon this little cute chic café while venturing around dublin. The chef is absolutely charming and the food is AMAZING. I tried the CHOCOLATETART just to try the place out and it was FABULOUS. He made it look so beautiful and definitely put time into preparing his dishes. Definitely eat his desserts sitting in rather than to go-ing it though. I will definitely be going back to try the other desserts and plates as well.

I’m always curious about international interpretations of American fare — Urban Picnic did not disappoint. Very tasty and captured all the fickle fetishism for specialty ingredients.

I’m actually salivating while writing this review. That’s how good the food is at this place. My main dish of choice is the warm tika chicken wrap which contains the kind of marinated chicken breast that could make the KFC’s Colonel cry. As the name suggests, it’s served warm. But this warmth isn’t as a result of it just being stuck in a panini toaster, it’s that its been freshly prepared and the outcome is delicious. The dish comes at the realistic price of € 6.50 but, like with all hot sandwiches and wraps on offer, you can add on a cup of soup for another € 2. This makes it a substantial lunch and represents good value. Regards the menu, wraps and sandwiches aren’t the only things on offer. The menu is large and varied with duck leg, grilled and marinated beef, and salmon fillet, all on offer with various vegetables on the side. A glass counter also shows off some wicked deserts; I’ve had the chocolate tart and it was pretty divine. The reclaimed wood future isn’t the comfiest to sit on but it does the job while looking the part. Finally, the staff are amazing. They deliver great service, always friendly and professional, while managing to produce some of the best looking food I’ve seen. I highly recommend.

I literally ran across his place, and circled it twice before going in. My wife’s propensity for rustic venues prompted me to enter. Ordered a Caesar Salad and for desert an apple pie. Both were probably the best I’ve ever had. Staff was excellent and efficient, careful in placing the utensils and plates, and the atmosphere was wonderful. Loved the long wooden benches and sparse flowers on the able.

A great, affordable alternative to sandwiches. I had lunch here and was blown away by the quality of the food and the price. Staff members were super friendly and I can easily see myself working through this menu as literally everything on was appetizing. I can’t wait to go back!

I had an excellent omelette, they even made one off the menu for me — it was really tasty and very filling. The coffee was great and I like the long rustic tables. Free wi-fi in the shop which is great. Definitely a great lunch and breakfast spot and very affordable.

I have been to Urban Picnic twice and have never been disappointed, On both occasions I have had the Cesar Salad which is just so light and full of flavor and the cup of soup which was delicious, they must have an extremely talented chef as I went with a number of friends and each had something different and each person said that there meal was delightful. They have a selection of cakes and pastries which I have not tried yet but plan on doing upon next visit. Great place for lunch.

I’ve often walked through the George’s Street Arcade and seen Urban Picnic thinking, oh I should really try that place and finally I did and was anything but disappointed. Ok, the menu isn’t huge but the range of food they offer is superb. Anything from a simple home made soup to a thai curry, fantastic. I had the chicken tika wrap which was complimented by baby spinach and red peppers. It also came with a light watercress salad. My friends had the ceasar salad which looked great and the soup which is accompanied with freshly made bread, a really nice touch. The bread is made fresh in house everyday and you can tell. They also make cakes to order as well as having some on sale in the shop, unfortunately I didn’t sample any this time around, but hey it just gives me an excuse to go back. The staff are welcoming and pleasant, a key factor to any dining experience. The price of the food is as endearing as it’s location, really reasonable and for the quality of food your getting you simply cannot go wrong. 4 outta 5 stars ain’t bad, nothing is ever perfect.

Great food at great prices. I love eating somewhere that I know they love their food as much as I do and Urban Picnic serves good food. I eat her with friends for lunch and really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. I had the tikka wrap and a cup of soup for 8.50. Both were yum. My friend had the stew and really enjoyed it. Will definitely be returning.

Tucked in Georges Arcade, this small spot is a few blocks off Grafton St but worlds away from the crappy tourist traps. We had spring rolls(freshly rolled), risotto and a penne pasta dish with feta. Everything here is under Eur10 and what we had was simply spectacular. Fresh, carefully prepared and presented, this is food by someone that cares. My risotto was simply one of the best things I’ve eaten and far and away the best meal we had in Ireland. The inexpensive prices are an extra bonus. Great food!!!

Stopped in here for a late brunch but breakfast is only served till noon. Thankfully, the lunch menu looked great. In fact, all the food here is gorgeous and well-presented. I had a thousand island tuna melt that had great flavor – nothing fishy or tinned, just fresh and tangy on a toasted ciabatta roll. I ordered a cup of soup with it, which I sort of regretted as my sandwich was pretty big. The soup was incredible though; a peppery mushroom bisque with some kind of spume on top and a sprinkle of herbs. Pretty details on everything! Hubs had a pizza with perfectly spongy dough and fresh toppings. Minus one star for service. It was obvious the 3 staff were busy making food and drink and there was no designated waitstaff or people bussing tables – it was up to the cooks to clear dishes in between food orders. I had to ask for water twice and it didn’t arrive until the end of our meal. I thought they forgot my cup of soup but that also arrived very late. Hopefully they get better with service because the food was fresh and worth the wait. From the looks of my neighbors’ food, I will certainly order the bread and cheese board and a dessert next time as those were the most impressive.

This is a little gem in the middle of the arcade, that’s I’ve only just noticed. The food is delicious, I’ve been there twice so far enjoying the chicken curry and the salmon dishes. The portions are exactly right for a lunchtime meal and the prices reflect that with everything coming in under 10 euro. You could definitely miss this place very easily in the middle of the busy arcade, but I really recommend for friendly service and food made to order. It is only new and has some teething problems. Service can be slow, but if you let them know you’re in a hurry i.e. on a lunchbreak they’ll speed it up for you.
