The East Point Cafe Bar & Venue

This place is very grim. As other have pointed out generally in keeping with the tone of the rest of the park. The Staff are exceptionally unhelpful lately? The food is just about ok and only just about. What East Point needs in general is some competition to wake the whole place up.
They will also not accept Credit Cards /​Laser cards unless you spend 9 euro or more (a sandwich is about 6 euro) and they get Pissed if you don’t know this !

In the vast utilitarian Eastpoint Business Park this café bar is as Cathal says in keeping with the general tone of the park. It is fondly referred to as the UN given the representative international clientele who frequent the bar. It does its best I suppose although the menu is a tad tired and could do with being changed every now and then for the weary punters who don’t have a lot of choice.
The bar does host a good outdoor patio/​smoking area and a picnic style outside seating area. It’s a pity there’s nothing to look at! It also has a soccer/​tennis pitch located beside it.
As the bar is located upstairs it is handy to note there is a lift located on the far side of the Centra Shop on ground level adjacent to Bön Expresso.
IMO it’s ok, it does for lunch that’s about it. Not a place I’d hang around in the evenings.

In keeping with the general tone of East Point Business Park, the on site bar has an awfully utilitarian name: «THE EAST POINT CAFE BAR & VENUE». The idea of drinking there was completely beyond me. At the end of my (brief) days working in East Point, I wanted to get out of the place and back to civilisation as soon as possible, not hang around and drink in the dreadful resident pub.
So it was great reluctance that I went to have a drink with my new colleagues there on my first Friday on the job, and that was because I didn’t want to be seen as the unsociable knob of our group dynamic.
And I have to confess, the place really blew away all of my preconceptions. The place is very modern inside (as with everywhere in East Point), but not as cold and sterile as the rest of the place.
And the smoking area — ‘smoking area’ doesn’t really do it justice, it was more like a really fancy wooden deck, with a barbeque. As I remember it was really sunny when I worked in East Point (made brighter by all the reflective glass and concrete surfaces), and the smoking area was a brilliant place to hang out. And on Fridays, the place would get really packed. I guess that everyone would just go to blow off some steam following a week in their crummy jobs.
For a business park bar, it had some drinks promotions that were not very conducive to a professional working environment at all at all: € 15 for a bucket of vodka and Redbull.
And perhaps this is me inferring too much, but literally half of the girls in the office I worked in were noticeably pregnant while I was there. Seriously, about 8 or 9 girls. So that pub must be the easiest place to pull in Dublin.
Still not worth a trip out to that horrible place, obviously, but if you do find yourself working out in East Point, give it a go, it’s really surprisingly fun.
