Pros: — I dig the Alt Rock/Indie vibe of this place; great music and décor. — I got the Original Counter Burger but you can build your own burger or get one of their recommended options. It was amazingly juicy and hearty. Right balance of toppings and essentials. — You’ve gotta order chips separately but they are worth it. — I recommend getting the 1⁄3 lb burger rather than ½ because the former is big enough. Cons: — They only cook well done which isn’t a problem for me but you might be one of «those» people.

Literally cannot say enough good things about this place. I always tell people it’s my favourite burger spot in Dublin and Lord knows there are enough of them! I always choose to make up my own because the selection of toppings and burger variations are just too good to pass up. Very relaxed and easy on the pocket.

Quality food & service. The burgers are so good, i have tried this place twice so far once was on the NYE and tonight and both were delicious. the beefburger was a real homemade with a very good taste; the staff is nice and friendly. The only thing i have noticed was a bit of delay in the order preparation however i do understand and appreciate that its not a fast food type or a ready made stuff and there is something for real being coocked in the background as u ordered

Post New Year’s Eve hangover required comfort food. Wings and burgers sounded about right. Having had a great experience in The counter in Dundrum, my hopes were high. Went in to order food to go. Had a cup of tea while waiting… and waiting… and waiting. 50 minutes later!!! I complained because I felt that was an unacceptable wait time and I was given 25% off the bill. Which I was satisfied with… until I got home with the food. My order: turkey burger with avocado, jalapeños, Spicy cheese and chipotle aioli, sweet potato fries, wings, corn on the cob, a beef burger with crispy fried onions, red onion relish and cheese, and a kids mini burger meal. With a kids chocolate milkshake and a large vanilla malt. When I was ordering I was told the corn came with feta and spicy seasoning, yummy I thought! What we got: Beef burger with salsa not relish. Turkey burger with no jalepenos and the wrong cheese Corn thrown in the box with the sweet potato fries and no dressing. The 2 milkshakes, which were given to me 10 mins into the 50 minute wait. And NOKIDS meal!!! Never mind me, the kids were very, very unhappy!!! The portion of chicken wings was much smaller than what you get when you sit in, and when being charged the same price, this is unacceptable. Not sure I will make a return visit. Also, they charged me for a kids milkshake, but not the meal! Not good.

Good burgers, heaped with toppings that you can build yourself! Very slow service though, you could be waiting up to 50 minutes to get your food! I would advise against trying their cocktails — vile is the only work I can use to describe their mojitos! Their one saving grace is their sweet potato fries, my one true weakness!

Build your own burger. Who could refuse? Pile it high with, in my case, onions. Fried onions, grilled onions, oniony onions… The burgers are pretty good thanks to the generous topping options. Go for the chicken burger and forgo the beef. Always overcooked, meh. The service is an interesting one. The food can take aggggges to arrive. Like 50 minutes? And the waitresses are generally pretty friendly but I’ve been met with a frosty manager a number of times. But feeling rough on a Saturday morning/afternoon? The Counter is a safe choice.

Terrible experience here today. We ordered three of the same standard sandwiches off the menu which we expected would arrive a little bit quicker than making your own burger which naturally takes that bit longer. We also each ordered sweet potato fries. When one of my party asked the waitress what drinks they had, she laughed in his face and asked what did he mean, I thought this was strange behaviour from a waitress. After waiting half an hour(which is a very long time to be sitting around waiting for your food to arrive) we had to ask a waiter for an update who responded with some nonsense about an extra order causing the delay, it finally arrived a few minutes later. While the sandwiches were good, the sweet potato fries arrived cold. In addition, our waitress was incredibly rude, threw our order on the table and didn’t apologise for the delay(another waitress did apologise to us). I am generally patient, but considering we only ordered sandwiches and fries, were being charged over € 15 each and were being served by an incredibly rude waitress we felt it necessary to complain and we were granted a discount, but not good enough to entice me to ever return. I would advise if you are going here, make sure you have time to wait around and make it worth your while by ordering a burger or something substantial and don’t expect good service.

The Counter’s main attraction is a gimmick in which you can tick boxes on the menu to make your own custom burger. This seems kind of fun and cool at first but when you make a mess of things it’s kind of on you. It over complicates the process of ordering a burger. That being said the burgers are typically pretty good. You can get as many of the standard toppings as you want, but then you have to pay for the more fancy toppings such as avocado, sun dried tomatoes and smoked bacon. If you know what you like you can make a nice burger. If you go over board with the toppings you could very easily make a mess of things. My main complaint about The Counter would be the price. For what you get it is definitely way too expensive. Other issues would be the wait time for food(about 40 minutes to an hour on average) and the uncomfortable chairs. Their sides are pretty decent. Most of them are the same as Eddie Rockets(the sweet potato fries, chicken wings etc.) but there are a few more bigger nicer fancier dishes. All in all the place is good. Four star quality food but I give it three seen it is way over priced and the wait times are so long. If your looking for a good burger you are probably better off going to Bunsen but if you have a big group this place will be able to cater for your groups burgerly needs.

I love the food and variety in the Counter Burger. The burgers are always excellent, but the last three times I have come here, the wait for taking our orders and then bringing out the food has been ridiculous. I have waited 40 minutes+ for burgers and chips here on at least three occasions. Also their seating/tables feel cheap and are uncomfortable. So for both of the above reasons recently when we’ve been in the mood for burgers we remember how long the counter takes and we just go elsewhere. I would only chance coming back if the place was dead as that’s the only time you will have a reasonable wait for your food!

From what I recall, food was good for a very correct price. Service ok also. And the place looks rather good. I really liked — loved, the burger, so I am just taking one star off because we waited really long — maybe around half an hour? and we were absolutely starving. Also, the garlic fries were an absolute killer. And dining there is not expensive. Def a good spot for a nice burger, would come back if I had more time, for a chill night.

I love The Counter and, judging by how busy it normally is, I’m not the only one. As a vegetarian I’m often stuck with the same, boring option(Goats’ cheese, again?) but this place solves that problem by letting me build my own creation. I’m only docking a star(and it would be half a star if it was possible) because the pre-designed veggie burger on the menu isn’t really much to write home about. Mains aside, they have a lovely selection of craft beer and their adult shakes and deserts are great.

Love visiting the counter. Getting the choice for exactly what you want is a huge plus and I’ve been here a few times now and it has been on point every time. I’m also biased because they label their vegan options and for me that takes a lot of stress out of eating out, plus most people can have food there so it’s pretty inclusive. The staff are grand I haven’t really been bothered either way to be honest but it’s definitely all about the food anyway and I can’t really fault that :)

I expected a lot more from The Counter when I went there. And I left feeling less satisfied than I though I would. I liked the idea of choosing your burger and doing all of the options. It’s fun. But if you’re in a rush, it can be a bit of a pain and time consuming, so in this instance, I had the bison burger. And my guest and I split a rather huge order of sweet potato fries. The burger was fine, but as a big bison fan, it could have been better and perhaps less-dry. I know that bison is a very lean meat. I’ve had it many times in Canada and the US and Italy. But then the toppings should compensate for this. The fries were yummy. Very generous. And I would highly recommend. However, there are a lot more burger places in Dublin to try out, and so I’ll leave this place for now.

Did not realize walking in that this was the same chain we have in SF, USA. Glad to see they have really solid burgers globally.

Love how to order you get a form and pick exactly what you want, lots of options. Portions are really generous, a side to share is more than enough.

Has to be the BEST burger I’ve ever had… I just went for the basic toppings but there are lots to choose from and I had more than enough. I went for a bun but think I’ll be getting the salad the next time as it seems like more of a meal and you kinda feel like your having something healthy. Peanut butter milkshake!!! Delicious!!! The staff are really helpful and friendly and would go back just because of that alone. It’s a little pricey for a burger but I didn’t eat anything else all day… stuffed!

Loved the menu! The create your own burger option is really nice. Burgers and fries were absolute amazeballs. Would definitely come back for another meal. What’s even better is it’s near to trinity college — major lunchtime fav spot The only slightly bad thing is it took quite a long time to serve the foods.

I love the idea of building my own burger. And, I really LOVE the idea that this spot is actually based in California. I used to frequent The Counter in Palo Alto, CA and build my veggie burger in a bowl with all the best fixin’s. To discover that Dublin has its’ hands on this excellent chain is sweet! A regular burger(or in a bowl) is about 9.95 and then goes up if you add –extra– toppings. You can chose between beef, turkey, or veggie. And, most of the toppings are included! Fries are extra but tasty. There’s also a full bar so get your drink on while waiting for your burger.(Although the wait for our burgers took a bit longer than we expected.) The buzz is awesome — from tourists, to college kids, to families, to cool couples(like me and my guy)! And, if you’re a healthy eater, again, go for the veggie burger in a bowl and it will not disappoint! Now, do they have a ‘shake’ to go with those fries!!!

Really liked it here. You choose how to create your burger and the choices are incredibly vast! Had the turkey on honey wheat with pineapple, avocado, beet root and peanut sauce. Had a side of fries which were also very tasty. Liked by all :)

Riesige Burger, leckere Soßen und gute Pommes. Probiert den Burger in a Bowl, das ist ein Burger auf Salat mit Soße und allem Drum und Dran klingt jetzt komisch, schmeckt aber wirklich großartig.
