I visited this restaurant last night with my sister for dinner(Tuesday night). The place was surprisingly busy for the early bird menu but the food was delicious. It cos € 22.95 per person for a starter, main and a tea or coffee. In addition the waitress told us that they do a special offer on wine on Monday-Wednesday so all bottles were half price. For starters we had chicken satay skewers(chicken a little dry but tasy) and panko prawns which were very good. For mains we had a green curry and a chicken and cashew dish both with steamed rice. Both were very good. I’ve been here a few times before and it’s always reliably tasty food and good service.

Ordered for delivery twice, haven’t been into the actual restaurant yet but really do love the food. The main thing is portions are small for the high price you pay(at least for delivery). They don’t even fill up the container, especially for the rice(I mean come on). If you put the portion of the main or the rice into a normal delivery carton, it would probably only come up to ¾ and you’re paying a lot more than other places. They don’t even do free prawn chips, but of course we order them anyway because they’re delicious. These in particular are more spicy than other places but very fresh and crispy! Particularly loved the Massaman curry which was delicious, as was the Sweet Chilli Chicken, which is something I’ve had at several other places and definitely prefer it from Red Torch Ginger. The Cashew Chicken was also great, but doesn’t top other places I’ve had it. Definitely didn’t like the spring rolls, they have a weird taste, maybe that’s just me. I’ve had much better, much cheaper. The Samosas with the honey yogurt dip were tasty, but never very good for delivery because they’re soggy by the time you get them. Pretty expensive, especially for delivery, would go in for a sit-down meal next time.

TL;DR Order the lamb massaman curry, just do it. The décor, waitstaff, and food was amazing. I had the lamb massaman which was just incredible, the lamb just melted in my mouth and the creamy taste of curry with the crunch of cashews was just perfect when paired with the Riesling(my wife’s choice, not mine: P).

Just finishing my early-bird fixed-price amazing-value incredible-delicious meal at Red Torch! Usually taking my own path, tonight was a night of suggestions. Thanks to local Unilocal reviewer Erika, I went with the five spice calamari — fantastic, as promised. I was actually talked into the mild lamb curry(HUGE portion) by the waitress — so happy she made that suggestion! Had one glass of very good(and reasonably priced) French chardonnay, and finishing off now with my coffee. After reading SO many excellent reviews, glad to have tried the local Thai fare while in Dublin.

So close to five stars for me! We chose here for my grandfathers birthday. We’re tryna introduce him to new foods besides meat and two and veg :) he was pleasantly surprised at the amazing Thai food that red torch ginger had to offer. The menu is huge we all had trouble even picking what to order. They do a deal up until 6 I think maybe or 7(I’m not sure) for starter, main course and tea or coffee all for € 22. It’s really good value because the quality and taste of the food is unreal. The calamari starter is a must! I tried my mams and regretted not ordering it was so good. I had the dim sum also amazing. Pork belly was a small portion but just enough as it’s very rich. I don’t like it too fatty for me but the rest of the table enjoyed :). The Thai green curry was really good lots of flavours and that spicy after kick that I adore! I love me some chilli! The prawns in the curry where huge and perfectly cooked. They had an almond brownie with pistachio ice cream which you would share as it was really luscious. I cannot fault any of the food everything we had was amazing. Just not five stars yet as out waitress was lovely but a bit clumsy. She forgot a few orders and mixed a lot up so we had to send a dish back and one person was left waiting without food. We also had no napkins throughout the night I sort of had to keep calling her over to ask for things that clearly should be on the tables already. The manager noticed the food mix ups and apologised straight away which was nice. I can’t wait to return!

Great Thai food. Had the spring rolls and Pad Thai. Couldn’t find any good Thai in London, thanks Dublin.

This was the first and seemingly only Asian restaurant in Dublin. My friend and I were visiting Dublin from the U.S., specifically Seattle and San Francisco, where Thai food is top-notch and beloved. While my friend loved his pad Thai, I did not love mine. In fact, I had to use the restroom within a couple hours. What I found strange is that they didn’t have pad kee mao or other wide noodle dishes on the lunch menu. I usually don’t order pad Thai because I prefer wide noodles. To be honest, the lunch menu was a bit sparse. The dinner menu is more of what I’m used to in the U.S. Prices were okay since we were in Europe. We’re used to cheap Thai food, like $ 6 – 8USD per dish, at most $ 10USD. Here, it was $ 10 – 12 Euro per dish, which is about $ 11 – 13USD, and that was for the lunch menu. Dinner menu is almost double in price. The environment was nice. There weren’t any other customers when we arrived, probably because we arrived right at 11:00 a.m. because we were still adjusting from Pacific time. The place filled up slowly throughout our time there. The restrooms are downstairs and can be a bit creepy at first if no one has been in the restroom in a while since the lights automatically turn on and off due to motion sensors. The motion sensors could be more sensitive because the lights did not turn on immediately when I entered. Overall I give this place three stars. It just didn’t meet my expectations.

Having scanned what seemed like every restaurant in Dublin, my family and I settled on Red Torch for my college graduation dinner, and I’m SO pleased we did. It fell on a Tuesday so there was half price bottles of wine all night! Must thank UCD for their excellent scheduling. That deal goes Sunday-Tuesday which is fantastic! That definitely took the edge off a dinner for 8 people and we were able to relax and eat and drink as much as we liked. Our booking was very flexible as we had no idea how long ceremonies and photographs etc. were going to take so fair play to the manager for accommodating us there! We eventually rolled up around half 8 and the place was pretty full. Everyone was delighted with their meals, the calamari in particular and the salad that they came with was one of the best starters I’ve ever had! So so delicious and very spicy. I also had the Chiang Mai noodles which were DELISH and a huge portion. We had some of everything, including trying a few cocktails, and everything was perfect. Service was excellent and they allowed us to sit long after the bar had closed without rushing us. Will definitely come back another time.

I was sure I’d already reviewed Red Torch Ginger. I’m surprised I haven’t, as it’s one of my fave places to dine in the city. The food is always top dollar, the service is brilliant, and the drinks — well — more specifically the cocktails — are up there with the best in town. So, on those points: — The Food. Above all, I’d recommend the braised pork belly, or the steamed sea bass Red Torch Ginger special. It’s soooooo good. And you don’t feel too full or bloated afterwards. Yum. — The Service. Welcoming as soon as you come in the door, and always smiling, obliging and efficient. Perfect combo — The Cocktails. The star of the show. They are all unfailingly excellent. And excellent value as well, nearly all under the ten euro mark which is unusual for the centre of town! If you fancy desert but also want another drink, have a whirl of their Black Forest Gateaux cocktail. It’s like drinking cake. Amazing. *Pro tip is to check out their lunch special. It’s unbelievably good value. For just under 15 yoyos, you can get one starter, any one main course plus an iced tea or homemade lemonade.

A fantastic first impression of Red Torch Ginger. I had missed out on a Unilocal event here, but all the feedback from that was five stars, so the place stuck resolutely in my head. On this occasion we were invited to a birthday celebration and to be honest the only reason RTG was booked was because they could cater for one vegan in our party of ten. I’m so glad they could, because the dining experience here was excellent. First mention is the wine deal they have on Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays. With the exception of the sparkling wine, all wine is half price. HALFPRICE! We had a lovely Alisia Pinot Grigio for 14EUR instead of the usual 28EUR. For a starter I opted for the Five Spice Pork belly, which was really REALLY good. Yes this review does require some all caps, that’s how impressed I am with RTG. The main let me down a little because I’m sure the menu said it was crispy chilli chicken, but it wasn’t crispy. That said it still tasted excellent and the veg crunchy. It’s only been one visit, so I am hoping it was a one off. The staff here are excellent. Pleasant and on the ball, without being too in your face. The host was really nice as he welcomed us and showed us to our table. Finally, the décor is impressive and the layout done well. There are plenty of tables, but they are not on top of each other. The facilities clean too. We are definitely going to be back to Red Torch Ginger. Five stars.

Great fresh food with good variety and friendly staff Started with dim sum trio, thai samosas, and tom yum soup. All were good, with the samosas just beating out the soup. We then had pad thai, singapore noodles and red curry. The singapore noodles were best with red curry just behind. Definitely would come back again. We will add this place to our top Thai restaurants.

Red Torch Ginger is really good Thai food in the heart of Dublin! The chicken satay is honestly one of the best I’ve had in Dublin and the portion is really generous! I’ve tried a few of the main courses, mainly the stir-fries and curries, and everything I’ve tried has been delicious! The ingredients are really fresh, they don’t use any MSG in their food and they have loads of coeliac-friendly options! The added bonus for me here though is the amazing cocktails and extensive drinks menu! I had the Louisiana Jam and my friend had the Pornstar and they were both to die for! We had two courses with two drinks each and it came to € 90 but the The Early Bird is really good value, it’s on until 7 during the week and 6.30 on Friday and it’s great value at € 19.95 for two courses with tea/coffee so I would recommend trying to make that!

Really good Thai food! We were unsure about eating Thai food in Dublin, but all the reviews convinced us. The food was delicious and super flavorful. Recommend the tamarind duck(super crispy and not fatty), calamari(slightly salty but still good) and the Phad Thai. Little on expensive side(we paid 50 euros for the 3 dishes) but yummy

AWESOME! First time in Dublin and we found this little place. Make reservations. We did but online and a couple hours before. So it seems they didn’t get it. They made room for us nonetheless and it was worth every cent! Had the Pad Thai and some Chilean Cab Sav. The satay also was perfect! If you like Thai you will not be disappointed!

Beautiful intimate setting… spacious… comfortable seating… our waitress was very attentive and friendly… The braised pork belly for starters… unbelievable. … Very moist and crispy and flavoursome.. Small portion which was nice so still plenty of room for the main. its quality over quantity in this case.. then for main the Singapore noodles were incredible. Fluffy soft noodles … nice crisp fresh vegetables.. moist chicken and all very flavoursome as well . even the wine was top notch. Pricy enough here though.. And not very authentic thai… More of a trendy version

It hits the spot right after the Guinness tour! We had had a long day traveling and headed to the Guinness tour to get that in on our first day in Dublin. Afterwards, we wanted something casual and not too fussy. We were a bit tired of British and Irish food, so we checked Unilocal(of course) for a convenient well rated spot. Red Torch came up and we all decided Thai/Asian would hit the spot. We were not disappointed. I had the sampler appetizer to share with the group. I loved the variety they presented. I had the rib and a spring roll. Both were very good. We all ordered our own entrees. I had the basil curry. It was quite spicy, just the way I like it. The other couple opted for dessert. I wasn’t interested in any of their selections. I did sneak a bite of the passion fruit sorbet they ordered. It was full of flavor and very refreshing. I think it was a bit pricey which is why the 4, not 5, stars… but being on vacation, it didn’t matter. :-)

I came here a few times for dinner and found it too be great every time. They have an extensive menu from entrees, soups and stir fries to noodles, salads and steamed dishes. The quality of the food is high, and the spice level is indicated on a few menu items. I like their steamed dish menu, and you can order extra sides of rice, egg fried rice, brown rice and noodles. Overall, it would be one of my top thai restaurants in Dublin. The staff were also friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is nice and serene. They have some good lunch time deals as well, but I’ve only come here for dinner.

Wow, we had a Unilocal Elite event here last night. The owners, Gary and Damien, knocked my socks off. The staff were all very efficient and cheerful. I am really looking forward to coming back here. The Food was delicious. The Dim Sum we were given as part of our starters was the nicest I’ve had in Dublin so far. The dumplings were very fresh and flavorful. The accompanying soy sauce dip was especially tasty. For main courses, we were given generous sample plates of the following: Thai green curry, crispy duck with tamarind sauce, sliced fillet beef in oyster sauce, prawns in thickened coconut sauce, and fried battered cod on mango salad. ALL of these dishes were yummy but I was particularly taken by the green chicken curry. The amount of heat was perfect for me. The prawns were incredibly tender and the sauce was exceptionally fragrant. The cod was perfectly flaky and the mango salad was refreshing, not overly sweet. The staff assisting was A++ Highly recommend you try this place. The owners described the menu as Not strictly Thai, but more of an Asian Fusion. I agree! Thanks again for the lovely evening. Tip: try the Red Torch Cooler.
