I’ve been to this Nandos twice in the last month and I’m starting to see what the«cheeky nandos» hype is all about. I had gone to the dundrum nandos a couple of times when it first opened and honestly I wasn’t blown away. I always felt the food was a bit overpriced for what it was… The tallaght nandos for some reason just seems to have a nicer set up. The food is hotter, the seating area is nicer and the two times I’ve been I’ve come away feeling like I really enjoyed what I had. Today I got a wrap with two sides, corn on the cob and fries. The corn on the cob was bigger than I remember it in dundrum and the portion of fries are far more generous. The wrap was really tasty and the ingredients were extremely fresh. My partner got the new sweet potato wedges. They were DELICIOUS and I would recommend them as they were crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and seasoned to perfection. Try them and thank me later!

One thing I love about Nandos is that you know what you’re getting. Be it Tallaght, Dundrum or the City Centre– they’re all the same. The food is always nice and you know what to expect, which is a nice marker for what your experience should be. We came this evening before the cinema because we just can’t stand a particular American style fast food joint any more. I got the ¼ chicken with piri piri chips and coleslaw– lovely! The Mister(who I’ve finally persuaded to become ‘one of us’) had the beanie pita and chips, and he liked it. The only thing that bothers us is the cost. It is a little over priced for the vegetarian meals, but free refills for the win. In closing, nom nom Nandos

The kids pestered me to go here and as I hadn’t tried Nando’s before I was happy to oblige. The franchise has been around for ages but it’s a new restaurant to the square so everything was all nice and shiny. The staff were very friendly but had to wait a long time before the food arrived after ordering. I’d put that down to the lunchtime rush and the fact that they were packed. They do free refills on drinks and the frozen yogurt was nice. The problem I have is that the food was just OK. We had the butterfly chicken, chicken fillet burger, kids meal and some chips and garlic bread for the sides. I had the chicken burger — think subpar Eddie Rocket’s chicken fillet burger with peri peri sauce and so this made it very overpriced for what you got. I have heard people rave about this place as if chicken was a newly discovered species but for someone who enjoys a lot of chicken dishes the novelty factor wasn’t there for me. You can pretty much add peri peri sauce to anything and you can recreate this dining experience. I like peri peri chicken but shouldn’t it just be one item on the menu and not the menu! Just wasn’t for me but the kids liked it so what do I know.
