I was going to Keshk Café a couple of door away which operate a bring your own bottle service. I popped in to Louis Albrouze to get a bottle of Rioja for the meal. I asked for a bottle between € 10& € 12 and was given one for € 13.95. To say it was one of the worst Riojas I have drunk is an under statement, not corked just desperate. And the price made it all the more bitter. Ruined a nice meal, thanks Louis. Avoid if you don’t want to be ripped off ;-(

Red. White. Rosé. Dry. Fruity. Fresh. Soft. Sweet. Sharp. Refreshing. Light bodied. Medium bodied. Full bodied. Whatever your taste in wine, Louis will have a bottle to please your palatte. Named after an admired wine groceer from France, the shop offers wines imported from small independent vineyards in France, Spain, Portugal, US and Italy. You can even read about the winemakers and their grapes before picking out your bottle. It’s almost impossible to pass this shop without popping in and leaving with a nice bottle to share with housemates over dinner. And studies have shown that moderate wine consumption can be healthy for the heart, so no harm there!
