Yup, my experience here pretty much reads like most of the other Unilocal reviews. I pass the place regularly and have been meaning to try it since it opened. Being a Friday, Bunsen was full so we decided to give Frite Haus a go. None of the burgers appealed to me, so I opted for the small portion of wings. They were better than expected and good value at 4EUR. Not the best wings in Dublin, but grand all the same. They seemed to have improved too, judging another review that mention the wings here. My hubby enjoyed his burger, but he didn’t really enjoy his chilli frites at all. I agreed. The sauce was the sweet chilli kind which added nothing to the chips. Actually, I assumed they were beef chilli fries when I saw them on the menu. They were not. I opted for the regular frites, which there wasn’t an amazing amount of. At 3.50EUR, they are nothing to write home about. I also ordered the curry ketchup, which was not great at all and abandoned it pretty much immediately. That said, they didn’t charge me for it. Overall ok, but I won’t be rushing back. There is a lot of competition in the area for food, they’d need to up their game in fairness.

We used to stop here all the time after going out! For some reason we never looked at their hours, so sometimes they’d be open at 3 and then on other nights(even though it would be the same days of the week) they’d be closed. We were always happy to see their lights on. All we would order were their absolutely heavenly chips with garlic dip and ketchup. They have a very wide array of sauces but we never felt like being adventurous when what we usually had was so good! Their chips are perfectly made– crispy but appropriately soft inside. The staff was always friendly and would offer free water. Cute decorations. Chatty patrons. I just miss those chips!

Craving some hangover treats, I thought I’d give Frite Haus a try, as I’d heard so much about their chips.(can’t beat a feed of good chips for soakage) So, first thing’s first, the sauces! If I’m being honest, chips are really just receptacles for sauce. They have about 20 sauces on their menu! Unreal. We tried a good few — my faves being curry ketchup which reminded me of trips to Berlin, and the truffle & parmesan dip. So good. Now, the chips, they were good. We ordered the bacon & cheese ones — the chips are like most chipper chips. Grand. I guess I was probably expecting a more gourmet type chip — with skins on, nicely seasoned etc. But there’s nothing wrong with a good chipper chip either so I wouldn’t complain. The bacon was plentiful, but the cheese wasn’t great — it’s that liquid plastic cheese type stuff they use in Eddie Rockets. If it’s not real cheese, I’m not interested! I got chicken wings with my chips and I left most of them — they weren’t good at all. It seemed like really old chicken as it was so though. Definitely steer clear. Still though. All those sauces. And the chips. I’d go back for those again for sure. Oh and the staff were sound. Can’t fault that!

Ok, this was a surprise. So, my friend and I were hoping to eat at Bunsen on a Sunday night, but they had a 20 minute wait for two. So, we went down the street to Frite Haus, and gave it a shot. Very happy we did! The cheese burger was very good, and the onion rings were HEAVEN. Plus, I got it all for about € 10. It was so good, I actually would recommend going here before Bunsen if you are a hamburger aficionado. It is also more spacious and the staff was very kind. High fives all around!

I’ve walked by Frite Haus so many times, I thought I should give it a try, so when I saw a Groupon deal pop up, I decided to go for it. We ordered a couple hot dogs and the half & half basket(half fries/half onion rings). The food was ok, but nothing noteworthy. The highlight was the crispy onion bits that came on top of my hot dog. They should add those as a separate item on the menu — yum! The worst part was the service. Aside from taking the initial order, they just ignored us the rest of the time, even though the place was completely dead. Our beers and glasses of water sat empty for the last 30 minutes and nobody came back to our table to ask if we wanted a refill. It’s a shame, because I probably would have ordered another beer had they bothered to ask… that’s revenue straight down the drain. Instead, the server busied himself going around to all the empty tables, straightening out the cutlery, refilling the ketchup, etc. It just made no sense, and we were happy to just be done and get out. There are a lot of great places to eat around this area, so they really need to step up their game if they want to compete.

Brought the urchins in for a treat. Camden street early evening is excting for kids with scores of people milling around, but the madness hasn’t yet begun. Merguez sausage for me, bratwurst for #1 and plain cheeseburger for #2. Better half opted for wings. Happiness all around. Delighted we went.

First visit here recently, it was grand but I’d find it hard to shout out to friends and family as a must try place… Yep, enjoyed the classic hot dog, the crisp onions were a nice touch but it was all just average… Also at € 3.50 the chips are pricey for what you get, they could vamp them up with some seasoning and up the portion but as they are, not value for money! Waiters were friendly but almost awkward at times, whether new on the job or just not natural at the hospitality thing… I dunno, just seemed when they placed food at table they were uncomfortable interrupting me talking to my friend… Hmmm, hello… Bring on the food, interrupt away! Found the same when asking for bill or making payment it was a little uneasy

Great stop on our vacation! We ate here and the hot dogs were quite delicious! They have a great selection of beer and also homemade sauces. The other items on the menu seemed very appetizing but we had to order hot dogs since we had a groupon. Friendly staff and very clean restaurant.

Service here was regular, they forget about the order and tried to convince us to eat what we didn’t ask for. The food is not bad and the chips are really nice.

Stopped in for a quick lunch and had the cheeseburger and fries. I actually wasn’t that hungry so was surprised to find a massive burger placed in front of me. They have a nice selection of bottled beer and sauces for your fries and burger. Overall it was good, but if given the choice I would go to Bóbós down the street. This would probably be my second choice for a burger in the area.

The burger here was so tasty. They took a while to get it ready but in the end it was delicious. I had the Frite Haus burger. The staff are very friendly and work fast. The menu is short. But they have venison hot dog and I will try it next time. Lunch deal: hot dog+frites+soft drink+ dessert 14.95

There once was a lady discovering Dublin, Who really needed some delicious frite lovin. So she went to her friend, a pal named Unilocal, who told her that Frite Haus would help. Her stomach yelled with all the grumbling, So she went on for some Frite Haus loving; She scanned the menu and she said to the man, Burgers and onion rings – that’s the plan! The man came back with food without fumbling, «It was love at first sight,» said her stomach grumbling. The onion rings were made a crispy golden, As soon as she bit into the ring, her heart was stolen. She looked at her friend with burger in hand, She smiled and proclaimed, «Why, these are grand!» The burger so juicy and fresh – not frozen, Cooked to the right degree with love beholden. Since that night, she’s been wanting to return, because those rings were great – everyone else should learn! She hadn’t had burgers like that in a while. They were criminal, they should stand trial! So come to Frite Haus if you’re craving something good, because you cannot get anything else like this in the hood. JESSOUT. *drops mic.

If it was for food alone I might have gave four. The three stars is because of the staff. As much as they are friendly theyre slow and forgetful. My mam and I had the same hotdog. well it wasn a hotdog it was one of Jane Russels irish sausages that ive always loved(sold in marlay park on saturdays & other farmers markets). it was covered in onion strings, pickles and onion rings. It was yummy but very dry I had to pack it with mustard and ketchup. We had the triple cooked frites(chips).with truffle and parmesan mayo. and cashel blue cheese sauce. both chips and sauces were to die for. but the wings. they were star of the show !! Get the wings!.. the waffles were tasty but over cooked abit to dry. Id return and try some more they had a nice special menu and the big beer selection looked fun! :) il be back hopefully the staff are better next time it was all a tad slow.

I popped in here. Sat down and was looking at their menu. I was really hungry. There was. It enough on their menu to put my taste buds in over drive, so I left to another place. I thought they were over priced for. Retain things. On their menu, it’s not offering chips with the burgers, so you have to buy separate. I would eat in here. But I was looking for something filling, as I was starving. It looks very modern and clean inside. Guy who asked if he could help me, was very polite. Give it a try, see what you think.

Love this place!!! Great food at an excellent price, the fries are served really hot and crispy in bountiful portions and the hot curry ketchup — which sounds all kinds of wrong — is all kinds of delicious! Had the burger on the two occasions that I’ve been here and it was great, served in a yummy brioche bun with bacon, cheese and garlic mayo… nomness!!! Can see Frite Haus becoming my go-to place when in need of a good pig-out, it’s pretty epic in fairness!

My husband and I are visiting Ireland from the U.S. This place was close to our hotel and had good reviews so we decided to give it a shot and I’m so glad we did! Everything we tried was delicious and was reasonably priced for the great quality food you get. We started off with the chicken wings which were perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy inside. They weren’t spicy to us but were very flavorful. My husband and I each ordered different hot dogs and cut them in half so we both got to try each other’s. We tried the currywurst and chorizo hot dogs. Those chorizo was hands down my favorite! I definitely recommend getting the chorizo. The currywurst was really good, too. Seems like you can’t really go wrong with whatever you choose. Also, their house made sauces were so good to dip your chips in! We tried the Truffle Parmesan and the Curry Gravy. Both were great! This spot is definitely worth trying!

OK, so I can’t say much for dining in here because I always get take away, but, as a local this is my «go to» choice for take away food in the area. Firstly, they offer a non-pork hot dog option, which is a winner if like me you don’t eat pig meat. Not only that though, their venison hot dog is just absolutely delicious! Served on a yummy bretzel bakery bun with delicious fried onions and a bit of salad — I’m usually not a big eater, but I just devour it every time, it’s that good. Their Belgian style frites are also heavenly. Chunky and served fresh, you think that not much can be done with fries, but whatever they do, it’s amazing and they are just the best, no other way to put it. As I said, I personally don’t dine in there, but it always seem to have a good vibe when I’m there waiting for my food to be prepared, and I have noticed they have a very good selection of beers, which is what you need in a place like that really! In sum, whether taking away or dining in, this is absolutely one of my favourite places to eat in the area, you really can’t go wrong.

Trendy, chilled, decent selection of craft beers… Service was very very poor … Staff Were very un attentive and came across like they are more concerned about their image… Very affordable and they have a nice enough menu.. casual burger chips hotdogs etc. Food was very enjoyable … but it should be. it was only a burger and chips.. you can’t do much wrong. Yeah id recommend giving it a go to try … but me myself wouldn’t go again … there was nothing to striking about it

It’s a very hip place to have a casual beer with your hot dogs, wings, burger and or fries. We ordered the half and half(half fries and half onion rings. 50 cents less than if you order than separately), wings, the venison hot dog and the classic frankfurter hot dog. I wasn’t that impressed with classic but I loved my venison with the crunchy tang from the pickled red cabbage, the fresh lambs lettuce and flavourful venison wiener! A winner: D the wings were good but I didn’t think they were mind glowingly awesome. It’s like they couldn’t decide between sweet or spicy. I loved the onion rings! Love love love! Super crispy! Get them! The fries were just ok. But great beer selection. I will def revisit. Note: the bathroom is kind of gross. I hate dining places with gross bathrooms. It ruins the whole dining experience.

Frite Haus — pretty cool little spot where one can pick up a pretty darn-tootin’ tasty frankfurter(German for hot dog). I’ve been missing my All-American hot dogs(along with baseball and apple pie) so this one really hits the spot. My frankfurter was delivered with fried onion strings(very yummy) on a roll straight from the Bretzel Bakery! It was pretty delicious at 6.95 euros. My partner ordered the cheese and bacon burger, at 7.95, which he enjoyed; but after taking a bite of my ‘dawg’ he was all over it and wishing he had ordered the same. We also shared a cone of frites(fries) for 3.50 and they were pretty tasty as well. There’s a chicken sandwich option on the menu for the healthier eaters. And, there’s a nice selection of craft beers as well as a few house wines by the glass or caraffe. They also offer a lunch special which seems like a pretty good deal(fries, dog, and bevvie for 10 euro). And, most of their suppliers are local! The ambiance is cool, casual, and comfortable. There’s house music playing in the background and the floor-to-ceiling windows give you a pretty interesting view of passersby on Camden Street(as well as the mortuary across the way … ;) The staff is pretty attentive with a laid back way about them — makes it an even more comfortable experience. But, I’d return, regardless, just for that frankfurter … (Hmmm… how many times did I use the term ‘pretty’ in this review?!) HOTDOG! The Frite is in da Haus and it’s PRETTY darn tasty!!!
