My friend and I were out scouting for some good cocktail specials when we found Dandelion. They have a great drinks list with cocktails ranging from € 5-€ 10. My friend was so excited, she volunteered to grab us drinks while I held down a table. 10 minutes later, she comes back with a sour face, empty handed. I asked her what had happened and she told me she stood there for 10 minutes and nobody took her order. So I went ahead and ordered drinks at the bar, doing my best to get the bartenders’s attentions. Standing there, waiting my turn, I noticed a few things: 1. They don’t acknowledge your presence. 2. They don’t wear smiles – like it’s illegal to have a curve on your face. 3. Their attitudes are incredibly sour. 4. They hate their jobs and can’t be bothered. After waiting, the bartender made a few glances and saw I was next. Then another person shows up and he helps her first. To which she insisted that I was there first. Because I was. I ordered the Skittle Martini and a Bahama Mama. I’d recommend the Bahama Mama, but my drink was 90% ice, 5% Bahama, and 5% Mama. Drinking the Skittle Martini brought me back to when I was sick and had to survive on cough medicine. I don’t see myself coming here anytime soon, and neither should you. Seriously, not worth it.

I love and despise this place in equal measure. The bar upstairs is quite nice, the cocktails are cheap and cheerful(nice but not the highest quality cocktails– think Mickey Finn’s Raspberry used instead of Grenadine) and the bartenders are wonderful. The décor is quite cool if very dramatic. The nightclub however is probably one of my least favourite places in the entire city. It’s a cattlemart, the dancefloor is literally a pit in the ground and the stairs to get down there are death traps. They fill waaaay overcapacity and it’s actually quite scary when you’re in the dancefloor– very claustrophobic! Music is typically chart etc. I’ve been here way more times than I’m proud of, and I’m never going back.

Well spank my ass and call me Sally; I think I’ve found the worlds best cocktail(after the Long Island Iced Tea, obviously). Skittles martini. Mwah. Fiver aswell, but the measures are shite. Can someone back me up on this: a cosmopolitan glass can only hold, at most, 200 ml IMO. If only there was some sort of central knowledge hub we could use, as the human race, to find out whether or not I’m correct. I’m talking about a distributed collection of all the worlds data, available to anyone at the touch of a button… With some sort of predefined data transfer protocols, proven cryptographic authentication methods, and finely tuned redundancy checking measures. oh well, a man can dream.

Location wise, you can’t get much better if you’re in town. Right across from Stephens Green and a 1 minute walk if even from the end of Grafton Street. If you go here on a Monday to Thursday, you can get a cocktail for € 5. Would highly recommend their strawberry daiquiris — beware of brain freeze! I’ve met up with quite a few different friends in here, its a nice spot to pop into after work to catch up with friends, never too loud and who doesn’t love a deal on cocktails?! I’ve been to the nightclub twice and wouldn’t be a fan. Prefer it just as a spot to get a couple of drinks in after work when it’s not too packed.

I went to Dandelion with my friends for clubbing on St Patricks Day 2014. We as tourists were told to stay out of Temple Bar District since there would be too many people and worst case scenario, fighting. So we had this place recommended and decided to go to TGIF(which was just in the building beside Dandelion) to get a couple of cocktails before the club opened at 11. My friends and I had a blast and I honestly couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate St Patricks Day. I’m still not exact sure how many floors the club has, and the place seemed huge. The drinks were affordable compared to many other places in Dublin. I went to many clubs around Dublin and this one stays my favorite!

Restaurant, Bar and Nightclub. Really big and quite full on the weekends. Grand interior and décor as well as lovely cocktails. Music depends. It’s okay for a fun night out when you don’t insist on coming off all hip and trendy. Location is great. City Center, near the Luas. The nightclub downstairs is quite big and the bar is decent but it can get quite expensive. Okay for a night where you just don’t know where else to go.

This spot is huge! And, they have cocktails for five euro at any hour of the day! I love the high-top tables and the plush red seating. Also, the space is divided up nicely with different seating areas, including a few inviting booths. And, there is a lovely long bar and a dance area if you stick around to shake your booty! As for convenience, it’s across the street from St. Stephen’s Green and steps from Grafton Street. So, get your shopping done and reward yourself with a martini or order a Bloody Mary and head to the park to walk it off afterward. I like it! And as for a martini, they make a good one! Cheers!
