I’ve been a regular customers of Da Mimmo’s for a good while now. I’ve loved the place and have recommended it to friends and family. This time around the service wasn’t acceptable. Myself and a friend went for dinner and made a reservation a number of days beforehand. When we arrived we were late getting out table. This was not an annoyance or a problem, the family had a small child and we given a complimentary glass of wine while waiting. We sat down for a 3 course meal and a bottle wine but throughout the dinner we felt very rushed. Plates were snapped up with little time left for us to enjoy our meal or our wine. When we were ordering dessert, I asked the waitress was there a problem or when do they need the table back. She replied(rather sharply) we needed it back 20 minutes ago. I was a bit taken aback since we were never given a time when we made the booking or when we were being seated. On top of that, by her timing, that would have given us an hour for dinner. If we were told that while booking we would have arranged a different time. I would like to emphasis that the food was great as always, but service was below par. Felt like we were being thrown out of the restaurant, despite paying for a € 28 bottle of wine and three courses each. We happened to be walking past the restaurant less around 20 minutes after we left and through the window we noticed that no one was occupying our table! Disappointing, considering all the great meals we’ve had there.

The best pizza I have had! Absolutely delicious! If you’re planning on going out for food, it’s a must to book the place. It’s very small, with only a few tables, and can get cramped fast. Most people opt for a takeaway, judging from the traffic that goes in and out. It’s pure Italian, owners and staff, and serve only Italian beer and drinks. They had a huge variety of pizza, they are great portion size, you do leave feeling stuffed and satisfied. I’ve recommended this place so many times and so many people know about it already. For that extra bit of a drive, it’s totally worth it over any dominos/apache pizza!

If you fancy Italian food and happen to be in the area then do check out ‘Da Mimmo’. This place is an absolute gem. Small yet intimate, friendly staff and wonderful food made from scratch — A taste of heaven in your mouth. The tiramasu is worth getting! Oh yum. my mouth is salivating just thinking about this restaurant.

Went here last night with mother and uncle following recommendations. Very good Italian food and very enjoyable atmosphere. The waiting staff had the service level just right, leaving us with our conversations. The food was so good — the pizza base was perfect(Mafiosa) and the toppings of spinach, Italian sausage and ricotta were a great balance; Pasta perfectly cooked and gorgeous roasted potatoes with the chicken my uncle had. Desserts were gorgeous with healthy portions given — but that was okay because my uncle got to takeaway his left over tiramisu to enjoy again later. It was busy and we were lucky we had booked because they were turning people away — a healthy sign on a Tuesday evening. Looking forward to going again to get my taste of Italy

My girlfriend had been trying to get me to go here all Summer. I’m not the biggest fan of Italian food(the pasta side of things, not the pizza. What kind of weirdo doesn’t like pizza?). I finally relented and we made the trek all the way out to North Strand and I only wish I had done it sooner. This place is absolutely amazing. The restaurant is tiny; it could probably only seat about 12 or 15 people in total. It is nice and cozy but still well laid out enough so you don’t feel like you are on top of your fellow diners. We were seated promptly, given menus and water by a friendly waitress. We ordered a small antipasto plate each, with a mushroom bruschetta and some garlic bread on the side. We were brought boards that had so much food crammed onto them it was probably unfair to describe them as «small». Cured Italian meats, olives, roasted vegetables, arancini and many more things. My girlfriend, who is a vegetarian, got the veggie platter where all the meaty things were replaced by even more delicious vegetables and other goodies. The garlic bread was a fairly hefty sized focaccia sliced in half, lathered with garlic butter and sprinkled with mozzarella. This was the most tasty garlic bread I have ever eaten. I will dream about how delicious and garlicky this bread was. Even now, I’m having gastronomic flash backs. The mushroom bruschetta was my girlfriend’s(I hate mushrooms with a fiery passion). It looked nice though(if you like that sort of thing); it was piled high with various wild mushrooms. If you like authentic Italian cuisine this place is for you. As we ate, we noticed the waitresses decanting wine from a wooden barrel into a carafe. Everything about this place just seems to be the proper Italian way. There is not a thing wrong with this place and I will be returning for definite to try the pizza. If it is even nearly as good as these antipasto plates then I will be very happy.

I ordered pizza for collection with my friends on a Sunday night. They said it would be ready in 12 minutes. My friend hung up and we dashed to the car. Already an exciting start! I ordered the capri-something with artichokes, anchovies, ham and mushrooms. I’d recommend that. Nice and tangy/salty. The friends got simple mozzarella and tomato and one with extra anchovies. It took all my willpower not to start eating in the car. The base is so thin and delicious. One pizza per person was just the right amount. I’d like to eat in the restaurant. The deli counter has a good display of the antipasti. the restaurnat itself is small-maybe just 5 tables so you should make a reservation before hand. It was full which is surprising for a local place on a Sunday evening. I can’t wait for my next pizza. Puts other takeaway pizza to shame.

I was there with 2 friends. It was a Wesnesday evening around 8 and thank God I have called earlier to make a reservation because it was full! Very small and appreciated place, it is very noisy but it makes you feel like you are family! We had Penne arabiata and another plate of pasta and the third dish was the vegetarian pizza, Mmmmm! EVERYTHING was excellent. It was the best Penne arabiata of my life(very hot and spicy) and the pizza crust was very light and crunchy! Perfect! The staff is nice and helpfull and the owner of the place came to see if we were happy. I highly recommend this place.

The food in da mimmio is the nearest to Italian food you will experience in Dublin. Have visited here half dozen times. Canneloni is amazing as are the vast range of pizzas. Friendly staff and delicious desserts. Love this restaurant.

If you are looking for really great, fresh, authentic italian food then this little gem is worth checking out. Fairly innocuous from the outside, not a usual sort of place Id have tried alone but a friend recommended we did so in we went, with no booking and managed to get a table for 2 and we were told it was ours until 6 as they were fully booked. Fine As you walk in the first thing you see is the fridge full of amazing fresh anti pasti, at this stage I was so hungry having missed lunch that I was drooling over the visions of griddled courgettes, sundried tomatoes, fresh pesto etc. We ordered calamari and gamberi(my friend) and the small antipasti for me to start. Ive never liked calamari but we shared our starters and I think im converted! Not a hint of rubbery and served crisp and piping hot alongside a piquant tomato sauce to dip. My antipasti was divine — a pot of fresh pesto and a bowl of focaccia chunks for dipping, Sun dried tomatoes, pickled red onions, grilled aubergine and courgette, salami and Parma ham… amazing For mains we went for risotto with speck and porcini(my friend) and I had penne Al salmon(smoked) Both were delicious although I preferred my own, the fresh tomato sauce was spiked with cream and just so fresh and tasty every mouthful was perfect A lemon cheesecake tart followed and I would go back for that alone. With 2 glasses of wine the bill came to € 68. Not the cheapest meal but worth every cent.

This is a little gem. I love food… especially good food. The food here is authentic, tasty and moreish… possible even more so than the food in Italy itself. The menu is full of pasta and pizza dishes with some amazing specials. The colours, freshness and aroma of the ingredients are enough enough to make your mouth water. Would definitely recommend… if you like Italian, then you have to go here! Amazing The size of the place is small, so I would recommend you ring ahead.

I love this popular local Italian restaurant on the north strand in Dublin. Great spot close to town with an authentic Italian feel. The pizzas are amazing however I typically go for one of the ever changing specials on the menu. Dublin needs more restaurants thus size. Excellent value and the staff are super friendly. I highly recommend this place for a slice of Italian cuisine on the North side of Dublin.

Wow. That’s the only word that can describe this place. I’ve never been let down by a pizza or pasta dish from here. I love lunch time when I’m in work and can just get a dish from here. The prices are great, especially for students looking for a romantic meal.

Small Italian restaurant in North Dublin. It feels like being in Italy. You should definitely need to book in advance since it’s always packed. Tasty pizzas and amazing antipasti. Friendly staff. I would strongly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for an Italian food experience

Da Mimmo is «Da Bomb»!! A cozy place with few tables, genuine Italian atmosphere! Their stone owen pizzas are off the hook! Altough, as a student I wanna go for a pizza and a beer, this is more pizza and red wine kind of a place cause the pizza is quite pricy. Nevertheless is mos deff worth a visit!

Ate here a few weeks ago with the wife and kids(fussy teens). We rang in advance just to make sure we could get a table as the place is tinchy. Its really takeaway size that accommodates a few tables. The best thing about the place is the warm friendly welcome and the beautiful display of foods. They say you eat with your eyes and if thats the case you would devour this place. The menu is trully authentic. Fresh well made Italian fare. The waitress was very attentive and the chefs where within earshot. I had the calzonne(folded pizza) which was absolutely gigantic, but seeing as im a big fellow I felt it would be rude to leave it so I ate half and got a doggy bag. I saw others being served and was envious that I had not ordered what«they where having» It wasn’t cheap though for what we had but thats not a compalint simply an observation. If we wanted cheap unauthentic italian thaeres plenty of chippers about. I will definitely be back with the missus for an intimate date night! Its always busy so this is testament to the quality of food and the service. Booking advised ;-))

It used to be Don Mimmos I think, now it’s Da Mimmos. Very very small place tucked just over the bridge at North Strand. Two of us ate there at a small table — the place was busy all night — both with takeaways, and with people eating in. This is classic, simple-but-excellent Italian, done at knockdown prices, and with zero fuss and pretension. Pizzas and pasta were extremely good, and the bread that was served with the ante-pasta we had was brilliant — it reminded me of the bread they used to do in Pizzeria Italia in Temple Bar in the 80’s(yes, I’m *that* old that I can remember that other super-tiny Italian food institution!!). Anyway — go there, or order from there — it’s great.

«Da Mimmo» is the BEST Pizza place! the best Delivery I had in 12 years in Ireland. Careful… it can be addictive. You can also book a table and eat there. It’s not a big place(there are 4 tables: 2 for 2⁄3 people and 2 for 4⁄6 people) but the food is GREAT; a bit of Italian music in the background, and a friendly environment Delivery can take between 40min to 1hr(depending how busy they are) but the waiting is worth it(a suggestion: ask for home made tiramisu’, available for delivery… you will thx me for that) I like the fact that when you eat there, they give you(included) a little starter made of Foccaccia bread and Peperoni(please don’t confuse peperoni with salami! when Italians say peperoni they mean ONLY this: ) You can also buy focaccia there to bring home. in conclusion: as a delivery 5⁄5 as a place to eat: 3⁄5 jut because it’s small(but i remind: it’s not a restaurant) value for money: 5⁄5 P. s.forgot to mention: real italian style margerita 8 €; I also suggest to try«Calzone Farcito» and«Tiramisu’»…you have to :)
