i’m giving the 5 stars purely because of ‘Mary’!! She’s an amazing shop assistant, I don’t know what title she holds, but she should be at the top! I bought 3 pairs of shoes for my kids in clarks in Blanchardstown, without them being with me(stupid I know, but there was a sale going on!!). Anyhow the fit wasn’t great, so I went back to Blanchardstown to change the sizes. To be told, quickly & abrutly, ‘it’s only the sizes we have out love’. So thankfully I was in town, and went to Clarks here, — there was a saviour not called Jesus, but his mother Mary!!! She was amazing, she didn’t walk around the shop, she RAN! I had my 3 kids with me(& my husband) and she managed to control them all(including the husband)!! She fitted and changed the sizes I had bought in Blanchardstown, and managed to sell me two more pairs! She is the kind of person that everyone employer should have! She was so brillant, so helpful and so genuine. She wasn’t a pushy sales person, she was a genuinely helpful salesperson. She’s about 55 to 60 years of age(sorry Mary if I’m a bit out here!) she has probably aged due to her effort in her job! Which made me think a lot about the old debate ‘is youth wasted on the young???’ I actually phoned up to pass on my words of praise to the manager, but of course guess who answered the the phone, promptly, and a little out of breath… MARY!

Considered by some Irish people as the shoe speciaists, Clarks on Henry Street is a popular shop for shoeware. My boyfriend used to be brought here as a little boy every year to pick a new pair of school shoes. Mothers tend to love this place. Looking at the shoes, I can see why. The styles strike me as being outdated and the shoes are more functionable than fashionable. A lof of pairs have thick soles and look like perfect walking shoes. Prices are expensive but I suppose this reflects the superior quality.
