Best things in life are the simplest ones. Small menu, just what you need: burguer, double burguer, cheeseburguer and double cheeseburguer. Their menu is literally a card. That’s it. Amazing fries, amazing meat and great service. If you come to Dublin and want to have a burguer, just go to this place. If you want something fancier with blue cheese and mushrooms, then pick another one

Yup, the burger here pretty much sated my craving today. I was in town for about midday, but being Sunday Bunsen didn’t open until 13:00… aargh. So I got a coffee to keep my hunger at bay and I did other errands. I made it to Bunsen for about 13:45 and managed to side step a counter seat for a table. It was pretty busy. Not surprising given they’re practically opposite The Temple Bar bar. Tourist central in Dublin. Staff were very prompt and on the ball, considering it was pretty busy they played a blinder. The burger was spot on as well. Cheeseburger, well done with the works. Crikey, I’m gonna need rehab for this addiction of mine. While Wexford Street will always be my Bunsen spiritual home, it’s good to know their other venues hit my burger spot.

So I finally popped my Bunsen cherry yesterday with bae and I was a little underwhelmed. The super good part about this experience? We got the shoestring fries. These were fu*king amazing. The cheese burger was good but it wasn’t great. I think my biggest issue, which bae was in agreement with, the bun was not good. It tasted cheap and stale. The meat itself was cooked really nicely. We both got medium. They were both medium and lovely and moist but I found it lacking in flavour. Barely any cheese. It as almost like there was no cheese. We could barely taste it. No where near enough pickles or onions. When I pay € 7.50 for a burger I want to at least have a food semi whilst eating it. It wasn’t quite there. I wonder if this place is different to the others. Is there inconsistency between their restaurants? I have heard such amazing things but was excited by the fries and not the burger. Fries should be secondary in any burger joint. We both got milkshakes also which were not bad but to be honestI think I would have preferred to go to McD’s afterwards for one of their milkshakes and at half the price it would have been nicer. Staff were for the most part very friendly and had asked if everything was good etc. I like that. It’s rare to get that especially in this city. The wait staff who took our order initially however seemed a tad stressed and rushed when taking our order. If management are reading this I would suggest going to WOW and Generator and trying to get to that standard with flavour and especially with the bun. Good job on the fries though. They were sexy as hell.

Hands down the best burger in town! I like that my choices are burgers or cheeseburgers– no faffing about with chicken wings or anything else. I take a star away for lacklustre service however.

In Ireland, yes, and we ordered BBQ! This is a cool place with a great bar staff. They welcome you upon entering, tell you about the menu and tell you to order at the bar when ready. Simple enough. We ordered and our food was delivered about 15 minutes later, which was enough time to watch patrons walk through the«window» to the outdoor area. The brisket and pulled pork were delicious as were the sauces. I didn’t love the beans but glad I tried them because they were different than what I’m used to. My mom got the sampler platter and the chicken was her favorite. I think the sampler is the way to go– more meat and smaller sides!

Bunsen on a Tuesday lunch time… naughty, naughty, very naughty hahahaha! Let’s cut to the chase — Bunsen is fricking delicious. I went for the regular hamburger, cooked perfectly medium and opted for the paleo option, no bun basically, burger comes wrapped in iceberg lettuce. Sweet potato fries are delicious too — crispy on the outside, an outcome that has evaded my attempts at sweet potato fries. Paleo and sweet potato fries are a great way of convincing yourself you’re being ‘good’!! . Service is friendly and attentive. There’s loads of room(it’s bigger than the original Bunsen) and the décor is pretty cool.

First things first, the food itself was amazing — I had a cheeseburger with sweet potato fries — delicious! The wait was kinda long, the food took ages and the service wasn’t great. I’d definitely try Bunsen again but perhaps a different location — maybe see if the service in a different location is better?

‘The best burger I’ve had in my life’, that’s what a Swiss lad I recommended Bunsen to said. I don’t think that’s the case for me but it’s a close second. The burger patties are nice and thick and cooked to order. And to their credit, they usually get it right. They’ve got a minimalist menu that is concise enough to double as a business card(check out my pics). I had heard that the staff were a bit on the rude side but the service has been fine any time I’ve been here.

You’ll read review after review stating Bunsen has hands down the best burger in Dublin, and every person saying that is 110% right. The one thing that needs to be said is they also have hands down the best fries in the city! So it’s been my second visit in the space of 3 days and that should speak volumes of the food quality in this place. Both times I went with the same burger, a good ol Hamburger cooked medium, which a treat since most other establishments hand you out burgers where someone asked it to be double well done! This placed delivers quality burgers the way you want to them! To accompany them in triumph is the fries which seem seasoned to perfection whether it be hand cut or shoestring. I highly suggest they change their tag from«Straight Up Burgers» to «Straight Up Burgers & Fries» because they can claim their reigning champion in Dublin on both counts. This joint is a must visit for any burger fans around the country let alone city!

When it comes to burgers the letter B is mentally paired with Burgers made by a king but not fit for a king… that is until Bunsen came on the scene. This burger joint is possibly the best and most consistent burger in dublin. The menu is smaller than a toddlers shoe. It comes on a card, the kind that lads(and ladies) who carry cards carry. You can have a hamburger, a cheeseburger, a double hamburger, a double cheeseburger. You can have it twice like I did this week and all. You can have beers, sodas or milkshakes. You can have it all but please save some for me, this place is one of my faves. The term mindfulness is bandied about a lot these days. In essence it means to live in the moment, enjoy the present. At Bunsen you can eat mindfully. Every bite is just sheer bovine heaven. I would be gutted if this place ever went downhill like a mountain bike — but for the moment standards are high and prices are lower than other similar premium faster food places in Dublin. i cant really add much else apart from my pictures, these really speak for themselves. The hand cut fries have loads of little crispy bits in them which is a bonus. If you like that sort of thing — which I do & the burgers are that fresh you would be forgiven for assuming the cows walked up the Quays straight into the kitchen. From pasture to plate and a burger food date!

Not much too add to this place that hasn’t been said already! Hands down best burger in Dublin without a doubt(bold statement) but seriously if i had to recommend food in dublin to a tourist this would be in the top 10 maybe even 5! Love how simple everything is also no frills and fancy menus just good burgers!

Not written a review for a while but Bunsen warranted my immediate attention. Having attended on opening six nations weekend I thought we may be in for some wait(having previously heard from Stevie M it’s been known to have a three hour wait for a table) but we were sat down quickly and had to wait very little time for out order to come out, Upon reflection I would’ve waited three hours for this burger… Now, hyperbole aside this was quite simply, undoubtedly and absolutely the best burger I’ve ever had. Ever. Anywhere. Ever. Seriously. You need to go TODAY… If I lived in Dublin I would be worried for my health having been here… Aside from that everything else was also good… Service, cleanliness, décor, ambience, music all 5 star!!! Some may go in and be appalled at the tiny menu(which consists of a burger or double or cheese burger or double) but if they try the burger and still fell the same, that person’s opinion need not be ever listened to… MEAT

This place is such a great place to grab a bite to eat that will literally fill you for the whole day! I loved it here so much! Staff were lovely and their menu is straight to the point! They only serve burgers but this is the best burger I’ve ever eaten in my life! Big portions and it’s worth a visit! Try the double cheese burger and sweet potato fries if your a huge meat eater, then this is the place for you! I’ll defiantly be coming back here! It was amazing!

This is getting ridiculous. I think this place might be ‘the love of my life’ foodwise and my mama just gave her approval. She is already planning to come back on Sunday… I can already hear the weighing bells…

Foncez, foncez, foncez !

If you’re from the States, it’s easy to say that Bunsen is comparable to In-N-Out. In fact, their menu mirrors In-N-Out – simple, specialized, and to the point. I’ve been here on three occasions and I have always walked away with a smile on both my face and belly. What I like about this place is that you can have your patty cooked to your liking, so my medium rare cheeseburger was an absolute dream for me – especially if you’ve got a rumbling tummy. The staff here are nice, though lack attentiveness. However, if you are persistent, you will eventually get that glass of water you’ve been asking for. Sometimes it gets busy in here and the wait may seem daunting, but I’ve never waited more than 5 minutes for a table; so stick around and you’ll be grand.

Yussss! I love a good burger and Bunsen is top notch! After the success of their Wexford Street spot it was a no-brainer for the guys to open another one, and where better than smack-bang in the middle of Temple Bar? This place is bigger but with the exact same ‘small-but-perfect’ menu as Wexford Street(four different burger choices and three different choices of fries on a business card-sized menu for those of you not familiar with the place). I always get the Cheeseburger with everything on it, served medium. I couldn’t decide between the hand-cut chips and the sweet potato fries this time so I managed to convince my friend to split both… result! They have a small but adequate bar menu that hits all the right spots and their milkshakes are delicious. I got the strawberry one last time but after hearing people raving about the chocolate one I think I’ll have to go back soon and get myself one, for research purposes of course! I took one star off because the service wasn’t great. I was quite hard to get the our server’s attention and they came over and put the bill on the table before we had finished up… a pet hate of mine! Despite this though I love Bunsen and will definitely be back again and again! Anyone in need of a good burger get yourself to Bunsen, asap!

Simply put, they have the best cheeseburger in Dublin. The restaurant is all about simplicity: a menu that is literally the size of a business card with burgers, cheeseburgers, chips(sweet potato and normal), milkshakes and beer. The burgers come out hot, delicious and quick with all your favourite toppings. Sometimes the biggest challenge is resisting the temptation to order another one! The burgers are just as delicious on Camden Street but the Temple Bar location has more seating so you have a better chance of not having to wait an hour to taste the burger bliss.

Burgers! Burgers! Burgers! Burgers! Don’t go anywhere else for a burger, Bunsen are by far the most yummy burger joint on the scene right now, sure simple menu but with simple menu comes delicious perfection time and time again. 4 types of burgers available and all cooked to your preference plus selection of fries, handcut, shoestring or sweet potato. Wash it down with either a soft drink, shakes or something from the beer menu on the wall :-) Firm fave, love how big and spacious this one is over the Wexford street one… Am delighted to see another branch open. Long live Bunsen!

After a fail after Saturday night shenanigans, as they close actually at 11, all that was on my mind, all week was to try Bunsen in temple bar! On my way home around 10-ish today I realised that Bunsen could be an actual option, as for the night I survived on really, really bad finger food… A burger would make up for my food misery! Yay! They do take away! Yay! They asked me how I want my burger cooked!(whenever I ask in other places for medium, they just give me a blank stare) I went for the cheeseburger medium done. Within 10 minutes it was ready, and I was walking home excited and happy like a 5 year old. This burger had a lot to live up to after all the stories I have heard! My first thought, opening the bag, was OMG this looks huge, I will only be able to finish half max(especially as my tummy was filled with ughhhh finger food) … Three quarters in… I wished I had ordered the double cheeseburger… I enjoyed every bite, it was melt in the mouth! Not chewy at all, like some burgers are… This was, for me, one of the finest burgers I ever had. And I wasn’t even half drunk, so ’nuff said!!!

I mean really what is there to say that hasn’t been said? I had a GF beer and GF burger with fries and it was great! I rarely eat gluten free bread because it is pretty boring but the bun on this burger was anything but and I am coming back for more burgers for sure! Good atmosphere, comfy seating. It is all good, so good actually and I was really surprised when we had to ask for the bill 4 times and the service was not that great but they were super busy. So in summary if you have a gluten allergy and miss real burgers then this is the spot for you!
