I’m not sure how this place has escaped my radar until now, considering I am a Portobello local, but glad to have rectified this situation. As a live music lover, was happy to have hung out here Saturday last as they had a few live bands playing. Now, I must admit not all the bands were to my taste(the heavy metal band may have killed my ears), but it can be said of all the bands that they were of a high standard and played original music so that’s all you can hope for really from a live music venue. The bar itself was great. I loved how there was a front area where the bands were playing and where people could«mosh out» to the bands, while if you prefer to chill and relax, beer in hand, while listening to the bands, there was a practically separate back area where you can sit and hear the band from a bit of a distance without killing your feet jumping up and down like the hardcore moshers ;) The beer selection was not as extensive as I would hope, mainly because some beers on their menu weren’t actually available, but overall the drinks are good and they do 2 for 1 cocktails for 10 Euro which I didn’t try, but how can you go wrong there really? I did think the 12 Euro in was a tiny bit steep, but that said, there were like 3 different bands playing and a DJ after so I guess it has to be done to ensure all the bands actually get a cut of the earnings so I suppose it’s fair enough.

This place is a revelation to me. I remember going to this venue once before for a small time gig; a friend of a friends band was playing. But the space had since closed down, which was a shame. Now reopened since 2013 as a Jazz music venue, we paid 8EUR after making the descent and entered a placer cooler than a hipsters bicycle. The bar and initial lounge was laid out well, which some funky décor and candles on tables. Next was the stage area, which was down a few steps, where there are more tables adorned with candles. Keep going to the left you are met with The Sitting Room, an area which is just that, a comfy sitting room. Back at the bar we spy craft beers — hurrah! I first go for a brewdog Punk IPA, but then switch to their 5am Saint. Both lovely beers. Due to the fabulous recent weather, the audience was slow to fill and as a result the music started a lot later than envisaged by the promoters. But when it did get started, my gosh was it a cracking set. The band was called Mages Takotak, French I believe. They were excellent. I’m no jazz expert, but we all really enjoyed the show. Alas by the time the second band had started, I had to go… it was a school night after all and as much as I would have loved to have stayed, I just couldn’t Highly recommended and I definitely will be back.

This place is awesome! I go to the Bello Bar almost every sunday. The bands that play there are very interesting. The description of the bands and dates you can find them on . What I don’t like is that you cannot use debit or credit card ! It’s great music, different concepts! I’ve seen people enjoying and dancing, it is good fun. I fully recommend it!

I echo what’s been said about the Bello Bar so far, it’s a gorgeous venue and I’m so lucky that I live near by to take advantage of it. Couldn’t recommend it highly enough.

I couldn’t fault this place in anyway. Great sound, very stylish interior, great staff and they have had some quality gigs so far. I can see this being a regular visit and I would encourage other people to visit.

Located below the Lower Deck, Bello Bar is definitely one of the best Music Venues I have been in Dublin. This warm and cosy place is ideal for either vibrant gigs or low key intimate performances. The Bar in partnership with Donkey Jaw Productions, is bringing the best Bands from Dublin and all around Ireland on Sundays, starting at 8pm. A friend of mine recommended this venue to me, and after checking it out on Facebook I learned that is the newest Music Venue in Town. So if you love live music from Soul, Funk to Blues or Latin, you just have to keep an eye on their facebook page to find out what is going on every Sunday Night…
