What a hidden little gem above a local pub! From the minute you begin walking up the stairs to morelles bistro you feel you have stepped into a beautiful restaurant in town. The staff were beyond helpful and very attentive. We opted for the early bird menu which goes until 7 on a Friday! It was delicious and such good value! I will definitely be going back! Can’t say enough good things!

OK so I think there’s a change in mgt? Noël was the ex manager. Great guy. Best wishes to him(unless he’s just on holidays lol) This is a great restaurant. It’s over the yellow house pub in Rathfarmham. Very good menu and well cooked meals. It’s dark but in a nice way. Great views of Rathfarnham church if you’re at the window Good wine list. Have helped out with large groups I have had in. You seem to always get a table and are looked after. Open Tue — Sun. I recommend you try it out. Desserts are sweet too. They are in no rush with you either, so relax on your visit. I’ll be back Aidan

One of the best places I have been in Dublin. Every course was served to perfection. I am in love with this place and will most certainly be returning soon! Champagne sorbet is a must!

The first impression on entering the 1st floor Morilles dining area above the iconic Yellow House pub is one of tired and faded glory. Old, yet elegant, fixtures and fittings wouldn’t be out of place in an Edwardian drawing room. That said, the service was friendly and attentive and the place was buzzing on a Wednesday night so they’re doing something right. In keeping with the old fashioned vibe I ordered a very 1970s paté starter which, whilst clearly commercially produced, was tasty enough. My main was monkfish with a spicy chickpea side and a couple(literally) of clams. It was ok. Not memorable in any way. As I write this the day after, I’m struggling to recall if it was indeed chickpeas on the side. Unusually, they had a choice of French or home-cut fries. I went for the former which were excellent. My companion chose a cheesy starter which looked vile but she was happy with it. I could only think of those nasty fondant dipping things we all had along with our ‘hostess’ trollies back in 1976. She also had fish — sea bass — for main which, again, was declared to be excellent. I’ll take her word for it. The wine was a very good house Chardonnay so the bank remained definitely unbroken on this occasion. Nice enough experience although badly in need of a refresh.

The Yellow House Pub is not only a great drinking pub but also an outstanding eatery as well. I have been coming here for years and only the name has changed, the food quality, service and standard has remained the same. It is all excellent. First off the décor is so inviting and cosy and reminiscent of an old gentleman’s club or smoking room with large leather seats and dark wood tables. There is an impressive bar and the space is laid out well so that it is ideal for groups and parties as well as intimate dinners for two. But enough about that, lets talk about the food and menu. For me it is one of my favourite menus in Dublin. Good hearty meals and traditional flavours and styles with modern interesting twists like Chicken Lemon and Thyme, Braised Pork Belly and Grilled Goats Cheese, three of my favourites on the menu! As side dished the sweet potato purée and roasted veg are excellent! It is not the cheapest place to eat in the area but it is one of the nicest! Enjoy!
