Situated in the old Kowloon Shangri La the Tapas Bar actually is a popular spot in the TST East area among locals, business people and tourists alike. In the past years restaurants and bar along the sidewalk facing Victoria have added outside seating for the guests. This was done due to the ban of indoor smoking. Same goes for the Tapas Bar. The setting is modern, lights are dimmed normally making a relaxing atmosphere. Service is efficient, attentive but not overly friendly depending on who’s serving you. 5 — 6 years ago they had a great crew that was motivated, attentive and super friendly. This has changed recently and service doesn’t reflect a 5 star hotel experience. As the name states this should be a tapas bar. Apart from good colt cuts including excellent iberico ham they also serve some hot tapas. But they are not really good and if I have to come here I prefer to stay away from them. Drinks selection is excellent. Everything is on the menu, cocktails, mocktails, liquor, beer and wine. The selection of wines by the glass is great, same goes for the selection of bottles. It covers all parts of the world and suits every budget. If you like beer, they have a few on tab and a good selection of different bottles. Whisky selection is good as well and include some rarities which are overly expensive! There are much better choices in Hong Kong but in this area one of the better ones.

The quesadilla was very very average. No flavour and cardboard shell. Bill was incorrect and service inattentive. I had to follow up orders several times. Hong Kong ‘spanish’ mediocrity. The plus, a nice venue overlooking the harbour. That’s all folks
