Star of the table | my personal favs: Pastries — all of them are the must-try & they have hand-crafted specials every weekend. My favorite is the mille-feuille, the very traditional timeless classic. I love the texture of the razor thin pâte feuilletée and the mixed flavor of the raspberries and pastry cream /crème diplomate. I have heard once a Parisian customer saying that this one she had at Nosh is better than those she had in Paris, and I also believed very much in my taste buds. Coffee — the best Mocha in town, I loved it even I don’t personally fond of any other type of coffees except espressos & americano. I like bitter stuff, but still I have to admit his Mocha is very good. Scramble eggs — every dish that contains scrambled eggs there can never go wrong. They make the best scramble eggs in HK, no jokes. - NoshTPS is always my favorite eatery around the Sheung Wan Poho area. There are numerous of cafes /resto nearby, but the simple, bright and clean interior brings the minimalist vibes that stood out from the neighborhood. I can say it is a real hidden gem of the city, as they don’t actually promote a lot, but it is unbelievably popular among the expats who live /work in HK island and most of the foodies who love exploring Hong Kong’s eateries. Brunching tips: Their weekend brunch is the must-haves, but I recommend visitors to go earlier or right when they opens(10am), because it will be a queue every soon till the end of the brunch time(around 3pm). If you just want a coffee, a piece of nice delicate pastry and chill, go during weekdays afternoon.

+faithfully reproduces western breakfast food +lemonade is pretty good +theoretically cultivates a starbucks-esque lounge atmosphere –very expensive for what it is –lemonade too small

It’s almost impossible to get in here, it’s always packed. I was a little disappointed when I eventually got a table and I’m not sure it’s worth queueing for.

Came here for quick brunch alone on a Sunday afternoon(around 12:15 maybe) seated right away at one of the benches outside. It was the last seat as people after me had to wait. Their menu is really simple. If memory serves me right there were less than 10 items for brunch. I went for the safe option, Euro brunch, since I just wanted anything that has scrambled eggs and bacon. Order arrived five minutes later and i tucked in. Left 15 mins later. Overall a great place to brunch but nothing special about it. if there is a queue, i’d go somewhere else.

Seeing all the reviews, I do believe if I was only coming here for a coffee, I’m be more satisfied. Having a brunch was only somewhat okay. It came down to two choices for me, really — the Nosh breakfast and the Euro breakfast. I ordered the Euro, which came with scrambled eggs, bacon, vine tomato and salad. It was my fault not looking at the menu carefully(I don’t look and overthink about the menu when I order), it carried a price tag of HKD$ 120. Stand alone, no drinks included. For a lot of places that’s the price of a full English breakfast plus a cup of coffee. I ordered a chocolate milkshake instead of coffee(it’s a darn hot day). It was good, albeit too sweet. The scrambled eggs were good. Not Australian-Dairy-Company-good, anyway. The bacon was meh as best. But that’s from someone that just came back from the States which is also the nation of bacon, so I could let it slide(and let it left on the plate). All in all I did enjoy the environment here. Poho(allow me.) still has a trace of unique and hipster vibe even with more and more people/tourists stuffing all the cafes. But when I looked around, I couldn’t keep thinking about all these customers here. Were they enjoying the food? Or were they only enjoying the time spent at Poho?

Quaint little corner café for breakfast, lunch and afternoon snacking. We were there for an afternoon meeting and darned hot this time of year. Cold beers and they open the windows facing Tai Ping Shan Street for a gentle breeze. A great selection of cakes, treats and I’m sure the menu would have been really good as well. Good for informal business meetings: have their coffee and there are two imported home brews you might like to try.

This is a great little gem that we stumbled on. It’s pretty tiny, but the breakfast was fantastic. The banana, peanut butter toast dish was perfect. The cappuccino was fantastic as well.

Went there with a friend yesterday for afternoon tea. they didn’t have much food choices for afternoon, just a few options for cake/pastry, so we only ordered a slice of lemon pound cake and a lemon tart. I also had an iced americano. The lemon pound cake was average, nothing to special at all. The lemon was a little too weak, and the cake was a bit too greasy for my liking. The portion was quite small. The lemon tart was not bad, but not worth the price($ 52) either, in my opinion. It was not really over-the-top kind of tasty, not to mention the portion size was small(as you could have probably guessed). It had a fluffy and light meringue which sat on top of a layer of yellowish cream with a lemon flavoured mousse filling. The base was made with short crust pastry(the ‘cookie crust’) which was not too buttery or thick. The coffee was okay. No big surprise there. After all i did just order an americano, so I can’t really say or expect much. Couldn’t say I was impressed by their food or service(the staff wasn’t very friendly or welcoming, especially when we first stepped in the café. Glad it got better…), so I’m not exactly keen on coming back again.

Nosh is a cute little corner shop /restaurant located in a pretty much hidden area of Sheung Wan. I came for Saturday brunch and there were already other people waiting around for a seat. The wait ended up being about 10 — 15 minutes, thankfully not too long! I feel like I’m on a search for finding the best apple cider in Hong Kong. Since they have apple cider, I decided to order one to try it out. The apple cider tasted more like a beer than cider… I’m okay with beer, but when I order an apple cider, I expect, or maybe I should change this to ‘hope,’ to get something that tastes more like an apple /apple cider. Is that too much to ask? O. o Ah wells. Anywhos, Nosh should not to be bashed just because of an apple cider, so I’ll move on to assess their food! I ended up getting fried eggs on toast with mushrooms. I thoroughly enjoyed this entrée. The tomatoes were ripe and juicy, not one bit sour, which is what I am usually worried about when eating cooked or raw tomatoes. The portobello mushrooms are tastier than the average portobello mushroom you would get at restaurants. They seasoned it well and balanced with salt. I love that it comes with mixed greens on top so that you get some healthy greens into your system with the eggs and carbohydrate. The eggs and toast were tasty as well Thus overall, I’d say this is a deliciously well balanced meal. Definitely worth the $ 90.

My coworker and I come here to have breakfast meetings because we love the fact that its nice and quiet with pretty good coffee. The food selection could be a bit larger– especially for breakfast, however the service is great for HK standards. I was craving hash browns the other day and they were kind enough to make some for me even though the menu stated that it wasn’t available until the afternoon«nosh time». They have an awesome mural painted by what I think is a local artist and it’s really a cool little neighbourhood café. Good service goes a long way! Bravo staff at Nosh.
