Nomadic

Another unique little shop located in Disco Bay, overlooking the plaza by the ferry pier. Nomadic sells a range of southeast Asian-​style gifts, decorations, furniture and trinkets — perfect for an out-​of-​the-​box present for a female somebody (preferably somebody you know otherwise it might be a little bit weird).
Nomadic represents the lifestyle of many a DBer; traveling, out of town, here for a year and then gone. It caters accurately to the demograph which explains its growth and consequent opening of a small section that sells plants. To be perfectly honest many of the items in the shop are of little interest to me. I walked in one day simply because I had forgotten it was Mother’s day and I only had a couple hours to find something. I bought something within five minutes, a pair of silver earrings with a turquoise stone in the middle, and then continued to spend the next twenty minutes browsing. Why? I had seen a bow and arrow set in the corner thinking, that would be sooo cool in my room. Then I saw an iron-​tipped spear and tried to imagine where in my apartment would that look best. After a back and forth struggle of reaching for a weapon then pulling my hand away I decided it was safest not to make the purchase. Safer for me and my neighbors.
It’s those sort of things that Nomadic offer, you might go in expecting to find an authentic Indonesian bracelet only to be waylaid by an ancient raincoat from the Philippines — which are also amazingly cool. It’s definitely worth a look, especially if there are only a few hours left before a birthday lunch!
