Super chill, open air bar with a decent draft beer selection, friendly staff and great flat bread pizza. My new favorite bar in HK!

Making our way through a typhoon to a small temple we stumbled across this little goldmine. A small little bar with covered out door seating I knew I had to have a drink in here. It was early Saturday afternoon and we nabbed the last table in the pace in the corner which was excellent for watching all the goings on! Watching the bar man make cocktails and they seemed to be going through some amount of bottles of fizz! We had just had a late breakfast so we definitely were not hungry but the brunch menu looked quite short and sweet. An extensive drinks menu and a brilliant choice it was. Craft beer divided up by origin — this was the draught beer list only. At the entrance to the bar there was a massive refrigerator with tonnes of bottles. On thing that surprises me in Asia is that they are big into the self service ur go help yourself you can pay later. Slightly dangerous for us as we a likely to try everything in there. I really enjoyed the time here hiding from the downpour the staff were friendly and efficient and the Tunes were also good. Whenever I’m back in HK this will be on my list to return.

Every so often I don’t use Unilocal to find(rare of course) where I should go next and discovering this pub was one of those occasions. My eye was caught by the fact they had Jaipur(craft English super spicy and hoppy beer from brewery called thornbridge –tastes amazing — try it) on draft. We happened to be walking by and noticing the Jaipur I immediately wanted to take a pint break. Inside it’s pretty small to be honest, but we managed to get a great table. Unfortunately when we were in HK there was a typhoon going on so it was raining outside. Fortunately this meant I could stay in the pub for a good few hours. The beer selection was amazing. Loads of draft options, but an even more spectacular bottle range. Literally 20 bottles which if your from the UK you will probably never have seen before. We ended up having around 4 beers and everyone was great. My five star rating is on the cool venue, amazing beers, great music and friendly staff. I did not try the food, but saw tonnes coming out. From the look of it I would go pizza rather than pasta or sandwich… Or maybe just stick to beer.

Sorry Itchi. I should have come at another time. I was impulsive. I was looking for a cup of coffee around Sheung Wan. Yes, there were many other places I could have otherwise picked. Like Lot10, but they were quite full. Like the Pacific Coffee opposite to you, Itchi, but despise coffee from big franchise coffee shops. It was hot at 3:30pm and I didn’t think much when I entered your store. So part of it was my fault. I asked if you guys served coffee. You said yes, and asked what kind of coffee I’d like to order. A flat white would be good, I replied, followed by a blink look from you. You were nice enough to offer me the menu to pick from there, and I was 80% sure I was at the wrong place. Yeah. You guys don’t really«serve» coffee. Not really in Po Hing Fong’s standard, anyway. I, sadly, felt sorry about the situations. So instead of turning down the offer and leaving right away, I ordered a latte. By the coffee arrived, I was 100% sure you guys don’t «serve» coffee. Yeah, that, and the not-so-subtle hint on the wall with all the beer stickers. Staff were nice enough and it’s indeed a very cozy corner to sit down and work for an hour or two. But I can’t stand their coffee. I guess it’s not really their expertise, but I’ll come back for their beer so that they’ll have a chance to redeem the star(s).

Found this place just randomly walking and stopped because a) I was pretty hungry and b) I saw pizza on the menu. Not the most exacting selection process I know :) Sat on the outside so I could watch people. Got a lemon iced tea, came out quickly in a nice mug. The spicy chicken pizza took a bit longer but not bad since there seemed to be only one person working. It hit the spot, thin crust more like a flatbread, good balance of sauce to cheese, decent sized chunks of chicken with a spicy kick. Would definitely stop here again for a quick lunch or snack!
