This shop is where we can find real local food that I love. The taste is good and the price is reasonable. As to cleaniness, I would say, it’s OK. Clean enough to have my mid-​night snack after a 16 hours flight from US.
Waiters and waitress mainly speak Cantonese and some can speak Putonghua as they were immigrants from China. Be prepared, they would not smile but talk loud that don’t mean they are rude. Just their style anc culture.
Food recommended to foreign visitors is «Won Ton noodle» for less than US$ 5. It is in soup. Beef Brisket with noodle is also in soup. They do have other dishes including famous Hong Kong style congee. The menu is in both Chinese and English. So point to them what you like.
Besides, going in a small group, if you are alone, great for eating by yourself with a dish of meat, vegetable and rice or noodle like an entrée for about $ 6 – 7 US.

Convenient ghetto Chinese fast food place in the heart of the Wanchai bar district. But it seems mainly catered to (mainland) tourists — everyone inside spoke Mandarin.
Possibly because of this reason, they seem to have put more effort into maintaining into superficial than the food itself. I walked in mainly because of the entrance, the golden words really made me think this was some established fishball noodle establishment. Place was also relatively clean inside. I ordered a fishball and beef brisket noodle and a side vegetable. But very very, average. Only two sad pieces of fishballs floated in a flavorless broth, fortunately the brisket was decent and quite plentiful. Quite cheap though, only Hkd 38.
Drop by for convenience, not for the food. That’s probably what they are aiming for anyway.
