Airplay Blow Dry Bar

I visited Airplay after buying a $ 300 voucher on Twangoo. I had pretty high hopes for it because I checked the website beforehand and it was very well — designed and looked very promising, and some websites such as Sassy Hong Kong wrote quite a positive post about it. Unfortunately, I had a pretty disappointing experience and I regret purchasing the $ 300 voucher to go there.
Making an appointment with the place was really hard — the receptionist on the phone was very nice, but for most of the times that I asked if I could come in, the stylist was apparently unavailable or the slot had already been booked. They only have one stylist (perhaps they have more now?), or they only have one stylist on shift at any one time, which doesn’t make sense to me because doesn’t that mean there can only be one customer at once? Eventually, after calling the third or fourth time I was able to book an appointment.
When I got there, I was offered coffee or tea and I opted for rose tea, which was served in a very fancy translucent cup. The tea was quite fragrant and so far, the service was quite good. I sat down and I started speaking to the stylist, showing her my makeup bag that I had brought and the products I use. She started to use the products to apply a sort of ‘every day’ look on me, which was fine, but I didn’t like that she wasn’t telling me her techniques. I told her at the beginning that I don’t wear makeup often and am not very good at applying it, and therefore want to a kind of tutorial so I can leave here being better at applying make– up than I am now. I prompted her once or twice and asked questions but her responses were quite short, so I didn’t want to press on anymore. She also told me that I should trim my brows to be thinner (I do have rather full brows), and I thought that she would do that on the spot for me but she didn’t.
When the session was ending with about five minutes left, I asked her a question about applying winged eyeliner and if she would demonstrate. She told me that she had another client next and cannot help me with that. I doubt that they actually did have another client next because the place had been empty the entire time that I was there. Overall, I felt that I had paid $ 300 for someone to do my makeup, not teach me the skills and give me appropriate advice — I wouldn’t recommend coming here.
