TAJ Mahal India’s

Indian food is supposed to be sweet, sour, hot, smooth, sharp. The food here was very bland. It’s like food coming out of a container and warmed up. Service was not attentive at all. Had to ask for drinks two times, they never brought the sauce we asked for. Really disappointed and I feel sorry for the people who do like it. Poor standards.

I’m very picky about Indian food at restaurants. I’m happy to report that Taj Mahal doesn’t disappoint.
Some dishes worth ordering:
Lamb Elachi (cardamom)
Chicken Tikka Masala
Beef Bhoti Kebab
All were top notch.
I tried a few other dishes that were also tasty, and only one that I didn’t like. The samosa was a bit underwhelming.
Otherwise, the service is great and friendly. Prices seemed reasonable.

Ambience is great, gives you a nice royal feeling. But was not exceptionally pleased with the taste of the food. I found it really mild and for some dishes it felt like they filed the bowl with large chunks of tomatoes. Garlic naan didn’t taste authentic. So overall OK (not great) place to change your taste especially if you are familiar with Indian food.

Excellent staff, wonderful food, extraordinary scenery. Order several items off the menu, push back if they give you a hard time, it’s totally worth it. When you’ve enjoyed your epic meal, the staff how good it was; the appreciate it and will be more willing to break with tradition in the future.

My academic doppelgänger took me here for dinner tonight. After walking all over town after the conference while catching up on each other’s work, we ended up here. We got right in time before the dinner rush; there were still plenty of spaces when we entered, but 15 minutes later, it was packed.
I ordered the paneer makhani, and a lassi. The lassi was too good, I ordered another one. The paneer makhani was amazing. I missed Indian cheese curry, so I ordered this one even though I am not vegetarian. It comes with rice, but I asked if it could be switched with naan instead, which was possible. So I was scraping the dish with my bread, as the sauce was just really good.
The service was good too. The staff were all attentive. They had these warming plates that they use so that the dish don’t get cool at the table. I thought that was nifty.
So yes, this was a good dinner. A great way to end another fruitful conference day.

Gerade hatte ich das schärfste Chicken Vindaloo der letzten Jahre. Ich ringe nach Luft, es ist wunderbar.
