This might be an Italian restaurant with zero personality by then owner. The service was mediocre at best. So the Spaghetti Bolognese was good; the pizza in turn was doughy, not fully cooked and meats very oily. Oh well if you are hungry skip this place and go somewhere where the owners and staff welcome you.

Best Italian restaurant in Heemstede, though it may also be the only one, certainly on the Binnenweg. This is where a lot of girls in my high school class worked on weekend days. The pizza is your average Dutch Italian pizza, better quality, especially the crust, than Azzurro on the Zandvoortselaan by Aerdenhout. You’ll find better Italian food, especially meat/​fish choices, at Napoli in Haarlem. La Via has outdoor seating though, which is a big plus in summer!
