This is a cool place. long narrow seating along a wall of wine refrigerators. We went twice in two weeks and both times found the server to have nice wine knowledge. They have a snack menu which included a salmon dish that was very tasty. I think it is part of their nature to let the guests savor their wine which might come across to an american as bad service. I wouldn’t hesitate to take my empty glass to the register and let them know I was ready for something else. In fact, that is how we got the check. We had a good time.

Great wine bar with plenty of wines to choose from ! Also had the chocolate mousse which was incredible, perfect with my Pinot noir ! Perfect venue to finish off a date night with the boyf

Was für eine Weinbar?! Abends ist der kleine Laden knall-​voll und das macht ihn so authentisch. Die schlauchförmige Location hat an der Seite eine lange Steh-​Sitzbank mit kleinen Tischen, an denen die Gäste eng zusammenrücken. Zu der riesigen Weinauswahl gibt es Kleinigkeiten zu essen. Lecker. Hier kann man den lieben langen Abend verbringen!

Went here with a client on a Tuesday night and basically walked into a tomb. The one staff member who I am assuming was a cleaning guy based on his attitude literally could care less we were there. He never even mentioned they served food which was amazing. After one drink we went about 100 metres and had a much better time at another restaurant.
Pro tip: If you are going to sell overpriced wines, at least hire someone that can interact with humans.

The first time I came across Vyne was about 6 years ago on my first trip to Amsterdam as it caught our eye and went in for a quick drink. After so many years, its still one of the coolest wine bars I’ve been to. Huge selection of wine by the glass and bottle and love all the wine racks on the side of the wall.
Love the cool and chic design of the place. Will definitely stop by again if I’m in the area.

Located on the Prinsengracht steps away from its sister establishment, Envy (a rather cool restaurant), Vyne is a decent wine bar with a good selection of wines, great ambiance (at first glance anyway) and décor, decent service however with pretty bad food and really awkward seats and tables.
Let’s start with the good: The wine selection is fairly extensive although it is not as good or interesting as some other wine bars in the city like Bubbles and Wines Champagne bar (on Nes, off Damtrak). The décor is impressive: One wall is entirely made up of coolers chilling and lighting wine bottles. The leather couches line up the other wall with narrow, high bar tables decorating the middle of the room. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful, if a bit cold. Like a good staff though, they will cater wine flights to your liking and preferences if you choose so.
Now the bad: The ambiance is cool but it is very uncomfortable. The seats at the narrow, high bar tables are at an awkward height, making you feel like you are a kid sitting at an adults table. The cushions for the leather laced sofas along the wall are so short that you look like you are perching up on them rather than sitting… Very uncomfortable and awkward. It sounds like a minor thing but it is not: Wine is not «wham bam thank you m’am» affair. It is something you enjoy over time with conversation. If you are constantly finding a comfortable position, you are not having a conversation or really spending enough time concentrating on anything else –like drinking wine. All this makes this great décor and at first glance inviting ambiance a place to dread. It makes the environment come across as cold and uninviting.
Then comes the food: I sampled a decent selection and one after another (including the cheese and antipasti selections) were just dull and boring. Good wine deserves at least moderately edible snacks. You won’t find them here.
But for the great selection, good location and the decent service, the Vyne deserves 3 stars.

The tables were weirdly high — you kind of feel like a little kid at the adult’s table. And I’m quite tall so someone who’s short would really notice it.
The selection of wine is great — although I think it helps if you know what you want. But the prices seemed really expensive. like, I think we spent more on two small glasses of wine than we did on dinner later.

My friends and I fell in love with this wine bar and its sister restaurant, Envy, located two doors down from Vyne.
The staff at Vyne is very knowledge and overly friendly. We quickly consumed two bottles of wine and a cheese plate and then stumbled over to Envy for a delicious dinner.
Get to Vyne early as it fills up quickly!

Like Kevin G stated, this is a modern wine-​bar with a gorgeous glass display of hundreds of wine bottles. Me likey! :)
Nearly all the wines are international, which I liked. Lately I’m partial to the Langhe & Piedmont Italian wines, so it was nice to see that they had a selection from there. And the list is extensive!
I’m pretty sure it is just wine here, I don’t recall seeing any other cocktail lists or snack menus either.
As Lisa B mentioned, I sat at one of those «high tables» — — and it was alright with me. The seating was actually pretty comfy.
Overall, a nice, upscale wine bar on Prinsengracht.

Vyne is not far from Café Van Puffelen and like the cute Café, has seating outside (preferable). The strange thing about the tables inside is that they’re WAY too high and too small. When your wine glass is above your eyeballs, it kind of takes away from the experience. Not to mention it makes your date look funny.
The interior is very modern with cool wine holders along the walls and a massive glass wine cellar. The meat and cheese plate we tasty and the portions were healthy. The server wasn’t quite as knowledgeable about wine as you would have expected, but the wine he recommended was acceptable.
I’d go back to sit in the sun and enjoy some wine and cheese.

Wonderfully designed modern wine bar an impressive selection. But unless you want to play the guessing game, bring someone along who knows their wines. The staff (like most Dutch service) is disinterested in going out of the way to help you.
The scene is intimate and never too crowded. Good place to bring a date.

A long and narrow wine bar on the prinsengracht near westkerk. Modern, sleek interior with hundreds of wine bottles displayed behind glass, climate controlled cabinets. Lots of seating and perfect for dates or small groups.
Extensive wine listing, although very few Californian wines. Expect to pay 7 – 9 euros per glass.
Ok service, but they should be a little more knowledgeable and engaging.

Situated at Prinsengracht nearby Westerkerk Vyne serves you in their stylish bar a broad selection of wines and champagne with accompanying snacks. The narrow location comes feels like a long bar with a wall of wine bottles on the whole left side, while you can either sit on a bench on the right or on barstool at the tables in between. The service is friendly and comes with broad knowledge when it comes to recommendations.

Ein sehr sehr geschmackvoller Weinladen in einer der schönsten Grachten Amsterdams. Rundum empfehlenswert. Tolle Weine, große Auswahl, leckere Kleinigkeiten, entspannte Amtmosphäre und ansprechendes Publikum. Immer wieder!
