Good spot for evening drinks with friends. The seating is ample and the service is on the better side. Around the Christmas time the decoration was on the festive side. They even have a house cat, so cuddly and friendly!
We got a raised area around the corner with a sofa and a couple chairs. Although a bit loud, it was a pretty decent spot for conversation as well as propping up a laptop to talk business. Yes, they also have decent free wifi.
We did not order a meal, but the nachos were alright. You get to choose between hot and cold with either cheese or guacamole on top, or both. There is also your quintessential Dutch bar snack food.
This spot is too far away for me to venture out regularly but it is wonderful nevertheless.

Spar90 — Der name ist Programm! Hier spart man kein Geld, sondern nerven!
Ich war während meinest Amsterdam Aufenthaltes im NH Tropen Hotel untergebracht und da ich generell das Hotel-​Frühstück meide um die lokalen Geschäfte aufzusuchen (Mal ganz ehrlich, was bringt mir eine Reise ins Ausland wenn ich das continental Büffet nehme???), stand ich plötzlich vor dieser «kleinen» Perle!
Das Spar90 ist eine interessante kombi aus Café, Bar und Restaurant. Es gibt hier sowohl snacks, wie auch richtiges Mittagessen und Frühstück. Ich entschied mich für das Omelett mit Schicken und wurde nicht enttäuscht, der Teller war gut gefüllt mit einem Berg aus Ei auf drei Scheiben Toast und der Kaffee dazu war stark und geschmacklich super. Der Hausgemachte Apfelkuchen (damit ihr nichts falsches bestellt: Huisgemaakte Appeltaart heisst das!) schmeckt übrigens fantastisch und schreit danach probiert zu werden!
Die Deko und Musik erinnern an ein 50−60er Jahre Diner und runden das gesamte Paket ab. Ich kann diesen Laden echt empfehlen, wer in der Gegend ist muss hier einfach einen Stop einrichten.
Fazit:

I thoroughly enjoyed my first lunch in Amsterdam here and they have a fantastic burger and fries. All the lunch dishes were served creatively and not really what you would expect as bar food. It may have been a little late for lunch, but the place had a very relaxed vibe about it that I really liked it. Just a cool place to have drinks with friends.

Spargo has everything in store to be a great bar/​restaurant and could easily keep up with hit De Biertuin 3 doors down, but somehow keep disappointing me. Despite the great, heated terrace with lots of cosy spots and large «to share» tables, this place can’t seem to get a logical way in serving their customers. Two different occasions, both in a sun drenched weekend, both gave me the same experience ending in «how the hell am I going to find anyone who will bring me the check». It takes very long before getting what you ordered, we were told to «wait… or choose a dish without the menu» because the waiters «gave out all the menu’s», bringing our drinks took a fair 15 minutes and to top it off; we were commanded to change our seating so others were able to join at our table. Ask? Sure! Command? Ehhrrr. Nope. Sad to leave a medium review for such a high potential. Spargo, step up your game and I am down!

Das Café Spargo, was bei uns mehr als Bar fungierte, ist ein netten Lokal, wo man in gemütlicher Atmosphäre eine Kleinigkeit Essen und Trinken kann.
Das personal war super freundlich und auch sehr präsent, ohne aufdringlich zu sein.
Das Lokal an sich hat einen typischen Bar Flair, abgedunkelt (ich war bisher nur abends da), es gibt Sitzbänke und Sessel, aber auch viel so Barsitze mit Bartischen, es wirkt schon fast etwas alternativ.
Getränke und Snack Preise sind vollkommen in Ordnung, einen Abend aßen wir da Tortilla Chips mit Guacamole, die super lecker schmeckte, überhaupt nicht künstlich, sondern richtig «Avocadich».
Ein Minuspunkt gibt es allerdings dafür das wir an einem Abend ein Käsefondue bestellten, dass wir zusammen essen wollten, es kam wie eine Portion daher, mit wenig Sachen zum Dippen, sodass wir annahmen das es halt die eine Portion ist, doch auf der Rechnung entnahmen wir das es doppelt angerechnet wurde also für 2 Personen sein sollte und dafür war es echt zu wenig oder zu Teuer, da stimmt das Preis-​Leistungsverhältnis leider gar nicht.

Ok, total confession… I work near here so have eaten lunch here many times, but never dinner! I have to say, the lunches are amazing! Many more options than the standard dutch café lunch selection: a few club sandwiches, tostis taken to the next level, some really nice stuff! My favorites are the mega vega and also the salmon sandwich. Both are so large its almost a trick to eat it. Quite a good value for the money. The location is nice, too.
