This was a stop on our food tour of the Pijp neighborhood in Amsterdam. It’s a small restaurant. We sampled a few Indonesian dishes for a small taste of a Rijsttafel.

Great Indonesian food in modest environment and reasonable price. The food was already prepared in advance; thus you select what you would like to eat and you pay for what you select. This is basically the Indonesian version of «Panda Express». Having said that, the quality of food is very good and is pretty close to what’s served in south east Asia. I would definitely come here again on my next visit to Netherlands.

Pro: relatively cheap, lots of snacks, many items and table/chair to eat on site. Con: Food was only so so.

This is an Indonesian eatery(note that I am not using the term«restaurant») that I accidentally found while walking this neighborhood. I make a point of just using the term«eatery» because the term«restaurant» carries certain expectations that this place doesn’t do. For example, all the food is already cooked and displayed in front of you in a big glass container. And when you make your selection, they will simply pile it up your plate and reheat it in the microwave. Restaurants would probably do the same, but discreetly, in the kitchen. Here, it is done out in the open. That being said, the food is very very good. It leans to the spicy side, so if you’re weak on the spice factor, then this might not be the place for you. And not only is the food tasty, but it is also very cheap. While eating there, I found several local people ordering food to take away, so certainly, this place must be doing something right. I would definitely want to come back here if I had the chance.

Very tasty, no frills kind of food! They have a lot to choose from, some good flavors and decent prices! The Microwaving aspect is not my favorite, but overall, everything tasted quite good and they weren’t afraid to spice it up a bit! They close early though, I think around 8pm, so keep that in mind!

Lots of spicy foods! You order at the counter and tell them how much of each dish you want. They weigh and add things up in between. Seafood and meat is obviously more expensive than vegetarian dishes but not crazy more. Then they heat it up in the microwave to the point that’s it’s too too hot so you burn your mouth and serve it to you at the table. I got a pretty liberal plate and it cost me under 10 € so I was pleased. However the woman was kinda annoying because she monotonously repeated«what can I get you ma’am» like nonstop without pause. I had just gotten up to see what I had wanted so I didn’t know yet! Give me a second, woman!

Sehr schnelle Bedingung. Würde wieder hingehen!

3.5 Solid, homestyle Indonesian fare and reasonable prices. Nice to find a spot and eat for under 10 euros as the food is sold by weight. They do utilize a microwave to heat up the 15+ entrees you have to choose from(many vegetarian as well). Small spot so you may have to wait a few minutes for a table.

This is an absolute must. Very friendly staff and more importantly great food. I would say it can be a bit expensive compared to Chinese, Thai etc. For a change this is a very good take away, also you can eat in but gets full quite quickly as its quite small. My personal favourite is the daging Bali beef with green beans. Really a 5 star experience.
