I very rarely give Unilocal reviews, but felt it was definitely necessary this time. We arrived just as they were closing and still the service was spectacular! Our wonderful server even translated the entire menu to English so we could pick out some items. The food was amazing and just what I had hoped for. Loved everything about it and definitely recommend if you’re ever in the area. Such a lovely place!

Perhaps it was bad timing, but on a Saturday morning this place is LITERALLY crawling with babies. Which is awkward when you’re having a girls brunch and none of us have children(though we are at the age where we are being asked constantly about it…) Atmosphere aside, this is a cozy neighborhood café with decent food and a convenient place to have lunch with your friends in the area. Do not come all the way here for food, totally not worth it. NOTE: THEYONLYTAKEPIN — NOCASH. Food: 2⁄5 I had the french toast and scones — they were ok… I felt I could have made better french toast at home, and the scones were tasty though Bakkerswinkel’s scones are so much better than these.(I should have gone to Bakkerswinkel… *regret*) Atmosphere: 1⁄5 Babies… so many babies… perhaps without them, it would be a pleasant and cute café where you can hang out. There is WiFi and no rush for you to leave. Service: 2⁄5 Service was friendly, but it took them a very long time to serve our food. I think we waited 45 minutes for toast. Value: 2⁄5 Lunch was around € 5 – 7 for food and then an additional € 2 – 3 for drinks. I found prices to be slightly more expensive by a few cents than other places.

Gezellig little café, perfect for lunches and any ZZPers in the West who want a great place to work for a few hours. They always bake fresh cakes /tarts and make a good coffee! Fully recommend.

Oh là là, c’est quoi ça? That’s what I thought as I spotted Rue de Sèvre when cycling by recently. OK, these weren’t the exact words but anyway, my curiousity was awakened. The café run by the very friendly half-french owner and her crew is bright and welcoming. They have an extensive seasonal menu, inspired by the french cuisine, with attractive breakfast and lunch options. If you’re into sweets you can select from the home-made daily changing desserts. I personally miss the chansons spreading some more typical charme, but the background music is nice, too. On sunny days you can sit outside and enjoy your food next to the rue. Naturellement it takes some imagination to turn Jan van Galenstraat into Rue de Sèvres, mais bon. This lovely place is absolutely worth visiting for a relaxed breakfast, lunch or borrel.
