I was in kind of a rush, in that I only had 20 minutes to grab some lunch. Instead of going to the bakery next door I thought I’d be healthy and get a salad. Plus, ‘how long can it take to make a salad?’ I thought! What a fool I was. There were 3 people working and no line but it still took them almost 10 minutes to take my order. Then the assembling of the salad took another 10 minutes(?!), and then when I went to pay the girl didn’t know how to use the pin machine and had to go find someone to do it for her. 30 minutes later I’m late for work, and I was left without any time to actually eat said salad. The food was fine, but really slooooooow and slightly incompetent service. Don’t think you can just pop in for a salad, plan it like you’re going for a long and formal meal.

I like this place. Salads, sandwiches and natural mixed juices. Not so many options to choose from, and when I’m hungry this is a good thing for me. All the items from the menu have different geographical names as South American salad for instance, big portions, if you like one mix and you don’t enjoy one of the ingredients you can ask to have the salad without it. Nice and clean, right? Decent prices, fast prepared food and a enough room to have a sit down and try them. They have a fidelity card, take it if you plan to be a regular as I am :)

That was painful. I got sick. Had a South American Salad, tasted just fine. With chicken, feta, tomatoes, lettuce. Had a chocolate cake too. Had a mint tea.(It wasn’t mint!!! It was lemon balm… aka citronella) tasked fine, nice even. 20 minutes later I was sick, in time to run to make it to my own bathroom. We are 2 hrs later now… and well, I feel okay now. Apparently had to get it out of my system :-/ Just got of the phone with them. R: «Can’t be our salad, everything is fresh every day. Citronella? No, it’s mint. Sorry to hear you didn’t like it. Me: «Okay, is that all?» R: «Yes, well… we can’t change it, everything is fresh. Mint was mint.» Me: «Perhaps the cutting board? Or the bowls?» R: «No, can’t be. Sorry you aren’t satisfied.» Me: «…okay?» R: «Thanks for calling.»

Go west! The people from Juice&Salad have heard the calling and followed the good examples of other yummy-food chains who’ve recently opened new winkels in my hood. Brilliant, I tell you folks! Just in time for the start of summer, when you make another halfhearted attempt to get in shape and renew your resolution to do more sports and eat healthier, you have one extra place where you can get your daily greens. The concept is quite simple: you can choose between veggie juice, fruit juice, salad and sandwich. Each of them have 6 options, assigned to continents based on the main ingredient. So for example the European fruit juice contains apple, pear, strawberry and raspberry. And yes, it’s as yummy as it sounds! I also liked the North American caesar salad, but you have to know that the chicken fillet comes cold because they probably prepare all ingredients in the morning. And a note about the sandwiches. They prepare them with traditional toast /boterham bread which is very soft. However, I’m convinced and will be back for more greens.
