Not good. We stopped in here as the place was opening up. Frustration ensued. The waitress was incredibly rude. To start it off, the food menu is minimal, written on a portable chalk board and held by that same surely waitress while you awkwardly wish you were elsewhere. The options are sparse making it hard to decipher between here and the pizza shop you passed on the way here. To be clear, not a redeeming quality at the place. Elsewhere is at least 3 stars and by elsewhere I mean, keep walking.

A friend and I popped in here for a late supper while I was visiting Amsterdam. We pretty much had the whole restaurant to ourselves. I had the gnocchi matricana which was very tasty, and my friend had the Italian meat platter to start and the angel hair pasta with salmon ragu. Funky place with some… interesting artwork!

I love this place for so many reasons & this just became my spot in city center. My friends and I were at a very touristy bar in center that had overpriced generic beer. As beer lovers, we all wanted to go to a place with good beer but also some food to nosh on. I was with a group of 8 people so going anywhere is a hassle not knowing if there would be space for all of us or not so I called ahead to Hoppy Days to see if they could fit us all. They said they could! Reasons to love Hoppy Days: 1. We got there and they seated us immediately in the backroom. I felt like we had rented out the whole room. 2. Customer service is so on point. It’s the best customer service I’ve had in all of Amsterdam so far. 3. They asked us if we want tap water. What? That’s so rare. Usually people get mad or snobby about us asking for tap water, and this place went out of their way to make sure we were all hydrated. 4. Why didn’t I write this as #1? The beers are true craft beers and are only 4 euros! What an amazing price for good beer. And I was surprised there were craft Italian beers because when I went to Italy it was so hard to find craft beer. 5. Customer service again– the bartender let us try every beer and then gave us more beers to sample. 6. The food was so good! Everything was cooked so perfectly. To find a random spot and then get served really good food is also a rarity in Amsterdam. I’m coming back here for sure!

A «few» Belgium beers deep into Amsterdam, I found myself pretty ready for a meal. The problem is, Unilocal in English isn’t all that reliable in Amsterdam. After a failed attempt at a few places that were less than desirable, a local finally recommended hoppy days as they have good beer and good food. We arrived to what is clearly a mostly local spot. No one really spoke English, and no English menus. Dutch and English aren’t really close, so it was a struggle. I thought I was ordering a pulled pork sandwich, and it turned out to be sliced pork. But hey, it was delicious. The beers? Also delicious. And even through the language barrier the manager could tell we wanted to try a few so he brought out samples. So, why 4 stars? The«meat and cheese board», which as you can see from my photo, was 90% meat and one kind of cheese. Delicious, sure. But I don’t care for cured meats and it was only two of us. Whether you’re just window shopping in the Red Light District or looking for a full blown night of debauchery, this is a great stop along the way.

This place was amazing. After going to the Heineken experience my buddy and I were desperately in need of some good craft beer. Hoppy Days is a very unique setting, a wedge shaped building with a very comfortable outdoor seating area as well as ample indoor seating. The beer here is AMAZING and the owners and staff are extremely knowledgeable, they truly have a passion for beer. Lorenzo, one of the owners, was a gracious host. He took time to discuss the beers with us and make personal recommendations. Now… the food. The food here is incredible. Best panna cotta I have ever had… and that is saying a lot. My friend had an entrée(I do not remember exactly what it was) but he was also extremely pleased with the food. Truly a pleasant experience. I have already made reservations in order to take my wife. Do not miss out on this place the next time you’re in Amsterdam!

This was my third time here and I like the potential of this place a lot. Good beers, good food, cool atmosphere and friendly staff… but… Unfortunately the prices are pretty ridiculous. The T-bone is priced by the gram and with some quick math that means a € 50 steak is very likely. Luckily we asked for the price since a couple of us thought about ordering it and they don’t post the price anywhere. The beer selection is ok, but not great. Paying € 7 for a 33cl beer you settled on because they were out of everything else… again and the fact you can get it anywhere else for € 4 doesn’t really warrant many return visits. The food is really good. The Motorham is an awesome pulled pork sandwich that I could eat every day if I had to, and might… if it was € 8 or even € 10 but at € 14 it’s just not worth it. I think the place has potential, but they need to reevaluate their pricing, and work on stocking the beer they advertise. As a bonus, it is probably worth going just go check out the ridiculously awful childish pencil drawings of the silver surfer hanging on the wall as «art». It’s mind boggling bad in the most hilarious way and might make you forget that 3 beers and a sandwich just cost you € 50… Like I said I like it, and I feel like after three times here I’ve gotten a good feel for the place, but I probably won’t be back… I don’t mind paying a bit more for quality, but the level of quality doesn’t come close to the level the price suggests.

An up and coming restaurant just off the Singel. The owner is passionate about Italian craft beers. It’s a comfortable space including a bar. The menu is also promising. I had a pork sandwich while I was there. It was very tasty and came with hand cut fries that were also quite tasty. Coming up this month a plate of ribs called«the flintstone». Now that bears checking out.

Was a cool place! They have a bunch of Italian craft brews on tap. Don’t turn your nose at this. these beers are no Peroni, they are delicious and there are a lot to choose from. If you only like sweat beer you are a bit out of luck but other than that, go give a few a try. The guy behind the bar can tell you everything you want to know about the beers and then some. He is very passionate about the Italian craft beer movement. The food that we had while tasting out beers was also amazing. I had hands down the best mozzarella that I ever ate here, seriously it was that good. I for sure will be back here for more beers as well as to try a dinner or lunch.
