My husband and I discovered this place while walking along near La Bourse. Café de La Bourse had a wonderfully traditional enviroment: dark wood, mounted lighting with long stems and open flowers carved out of metal, and staple French dishes(steak, confit de canard, etc). We arrived after 8pm and found the place very quiet(probably because most people don’t eat dinner till 9pm). I ordered the duck confit, which arrived with potatoes as well. The duck was flawless: wonderfully moist, perfectly cooked, and the meat slid right off the bone. I normally avoid poultry skin and fat, but the fat here too was flavorful and beyond delicious. The potatoes were thinly sliced, tender, and had also most likely been cooked in the duck fat. I would call it the best meal of my life, from first bite to last. I also appreciated that the waiter put up with my rusty French, and both my husband and I enjoyed having our water served in a in a repurposed alcohol bottle. I’d go back to this place in a second.
