One of the best in town. The chef is trying very hard to please and this is a top restaurant at a reasonable price. The cheese board is amazing. Everything was done with the utmost care and attention perfect place for a quiet white glove dinner.

We ordered the four course dinner menu, and it was more than just filling. The plates are small, but with all the additional bread, samplings and dessert, it definitely fills you up. Next time, I would have just ordered the three course menu. We did not order the wine, so this review is just for the food. Overall, food was great. They first start off with a sampling. For us it was a gazpacho with cream cheese and cheese cream puff. Then comes the home baked bread with butter and salt. The butter is amazing, although I do wish that they have served it at room temperature, it’s tough to cut through hard cold butter and spread it on bread. I assume the courses change on a daily /season basis, but ours was fois grais, carpaccio, balsamic glazed salmon, roasted duck. We also opted to pay $ 8 to switch the designated dessert to the tart tatin and it was a life changing moment of my life! I even have to ask the waitress where to get all the ingredients for my dessert because it was that amazing. I really want to make it a home! Of course, we are in France, so it’s not a complete meal without cheese, or should I say, a wagon full of cheese from all over the continent. Now for the negative reviews, I thought the service needed improvement. I’m not sure if this is because where in France, or Europe, or because I have American expectations as a tourist, but I thought it was rude for waiters who are capable of speaking English to decide to speak in French to you(my boyfriend speaks French, and the waiter made no effort to speak to me in English). It happened over the course of the meal, and they clearly knew I couldn’t speak French. Maybe it’s one of those«you should learn our language, sucka» type attitude service. In addition, they would always ask questions for feedback and comment to my boyfriend(the man), but would ignore me, the woman. I have never gone to a nice restaurant and felt that ignored, and felt that the service was catered to the man. Again, not sure if it’s a European restaurant etiquette thing… but I was the one who paid the bill. I also found service to be slow, and you also need to ask for the water to be refilled. I will finish this review with a good note. Whatever you do, don’t leave the restaurant without tasting the apple tart(tart tatin). It will be the best thing you’ve ever tasted in your life. Finished that dessert not being able to compare anything I’ve ever tasted. Check out the picture I posted to see what it looks like, but it’s a caramel fleur de sel ice cream(salted caramel) on a bed of goodness gingerbread cookie from Britany(northwest of France), cooked apples and thick caramel sauce. This dessert was by far the highlight of the meal, and I encourage you to be only half full when you eat it(which is why I only encourage the 3 course dinner, not 4). I was so stuffed by the time dessert came, and almost didn’t finish it!

Lunch was included at Le Bistrot in our bus package to Mont Blanc. Initially we had some reservation about what to expect but we were blown away with the quality of food and service. We had steak that was very tasty and cooked to perfection. Desserts were equally delicious. We are currently travelling Europe and this was the best meal that we have had on our journey so far by a big margin, can highly recommend this restaurant as you will not be disappointed!

I went here recently while on a skiing trip to Chamonix, France. The food is quite good, the portions are small, and they have an extensive wine selection. The service is about what you would expect from an upscale French restaurant, so honestly, there are no complaints. The main reason I am giving 3 stars and not more is because there are many other restaurants in Chamonix where you can get equally good or better French food for cheaper. I found that the hotel I was staying at,(Les Aiglons) for example, had better food for cheaper, as did some other restaurants.
