Very prompt response; the tech was on-site within 45 minutes of the call. I was referred to this company by the Nest site and the tech knew nothing about this technology. Also, his quote for refrigerant(R22 @ 90/lb) was more than twice what a competitor quoted me.

Control Tech has been one of the most consistent service providers that I have used. They are timely, courteous, respectful and knowledgeable. When I have needed additional work done, they have shown me multiple options, disclosed the pros and cons of each option and given me time to make an informed decision. I have full confidence in their work and pricing structure. I also know that when I need them, they will be there.

Be extremely careful with them, they do overcharge insanely and there is no quality in the work. The air blower motor stopped working, so I called this company to have a look at it and repair it. They charge $ 90 for the service visit. When you call a HVAC company for a service visit, there is an intention and a plan to have the HVAC system repaired in a reasonable matter. You don’t want someone to come in and get the $ 90 service visit fee without the reasonable intention of repairing the system. You want to avoid calling someone else that will again charge you the service visit + repairs. Here is what happened with these guys: 1– Technician opened the system and in 2 minutes he realized that the air blower capacitor is malfunctioning. There was oil leaking from the condenser. 2– The condenser is a small part like a battery, or a regulator. It is a plug and play part, two clips attached to it. Easiest part to replace. 3– The technician started telling me how this is the cheapest part in the whole system and that I shouldn’t worry at all. He said that multiple times that got me worried. 4– I googled that part’s price and the results from that quick search using my phone gave me the price of $ 10 to $ 25. 5– The technician came back with a huge smile on his face carrying a paper quote for the capacitor price. He quoted me $ 170 for the capacitor + $ 90 for the service visit totaling $ 260. 6– $ 170 for an item that doesn’t exceed $ 25! Please don’t assume that the charge includes labor, this is already paid for in the service charge of $ 90. The time to install this part doesn’t exceed 5 minutes. 7– I didn’t tell the technician of the google result yet, but I asked him kindly to consider adjusting the price of the capacitor to be $ 170 and to waive the service fee. I asked him that because I know that the part is marked up beyond any humanely standards. 8– The technician offered to lower the price to $ 133 «how nice of him» but I have to sign up to a rip-off service plan that cost me $ 250 every year. The service plan includes 2 maintenance visits every year. All HVAC service companies do these visits for less than $ 70. Anyway, I refused. 9– I told him that the part is way cheaper than what he quoted me and that I googled it. The technician knew that he is caught by a customer that checks. He closed the system without doing a complete check to make sure everything is OK with the system, he closed without removing and cleaning the oil of the capacitor, he closed it without even checking the outside unit and making sure it is functioning. 10– I checked for the real price of the capacitor that is specific to my unit, it is $ 5 from Home Depot or $ 10 shipped from Amazon«delivered same day with an additional $ 5.99. 11– I called another HVAC service business and they quoted me less than half«$ 80 + service visit» compared to what quoted by Control Tech Heating & Air Conditioning Inc. How is a $ 10 part installed for $ 170 + $ 90 service fee= $ 260 !! I do realize that I should expect a huge markup in this kind of business, but for this business«Control Tech Heating & Air Conditioning Inc» the greed is doubled compared to other HVAC companies. The company is a big rip-off and there is no quality in their work. Look somewhere else.

Wonderful company to work with. Technicians are extremely professional and prompt. Prices are reasonable and their service plan can’t be beat. My family only uses CT for our HVAC needs. Give them a call, you won’t be disappointed!

There are a lot of flakes in the HVAC business but Control Tech in Zionsville is not one of those kind of companies. Right from the top, owner Alan Winters is as good a business owner you could wish for. Their work is done quickly, on time, and very fairly priced. I have a highly recommended maintenance plan with Control Tech and my yearly cost to keep my aging heat pump running perfectly is under $ 150 which I think is pretty amazing.
