I’m rating on overall on wines, views from the winery, and atmosphere the created during spring barrel 2014. Live music by this very talented young girl! If you like white wines, try the dancing cowgirl, delicious!

While the wine that I tasted was pretty good, they definitely need a lesson in customer service. Our group consisted of three people with ‘rattlesnake hills passports’ which waives the tasting fee of $ 5 and one designated driver without a ‘passport.’ They made our designated driver leave and said that he was not able be in the tasting room with us since he didn’t have the passport. Really?! So… dear Agate Fields — please take a lesson in customer service. Until then, I will not buy you wines.

A warm and welcome exchange from Sheridan Vineyard, we walk in and are greeted with a pleasant hello. Plus the fact we were the only two in there at the time did help. Information was provided, I wasn’t ignored, and this made me happy. I learned that Agate Field is a small family owned and operated vineyard and that Ben Rashford, the founder has been growing grapes for more than 65 years and has in the last several years put his knowledge of viticulture into growing the finest wine grapes that they use to make Agate wines. I enjoyed taste of the Dancing Cowboy Red. It had bursts of dark cherry and blueberry with a bit of oak, it was dark and juicy just the way I like my red wine. I also tasted their Red Wine, though I don’t remember the year and their Syrah everything I tasted was yummy which is why a bottle or two ended up coming home with us. And I also saw and bought a sign that says«Squeeze Me, Stomp Me, Make Me Wine» it was too cute not to. Agate Field is well worth a stop on you trip through the Yakima Valley.
