Wendy’s

Sweetie and I went to Zanesville to see a concert, and a combination of traffic, construction, and other restaurants being packed led us here. It’s attached to a gas station right off the highway, so yeah, a serious date night attraction…
But hey, it was quick, and we made it to the show on time. We each had chicken sandwiches; hers was the asiago bacon I think, and mine was homestyle. For fast food, it was okay: big piece of chicken, fairly moist. Decent bun, reasonably fresh toppings. Tasted fine. She had fries, and of course I had to try the ghost pepper fries. «Can you stand the heat?» the sign says. Yes, I can. Because it’s really not that hot. There was a slight heat to the sauce, but meh. Basically it was cheese fries, and there was so much cheese the fries were buried and soggy. I kept waiting for the heat to show up and overwhelm me, but nope. Still, not bad tasting.
Service was good. The place was fairly clean. The layout is nice and open, with plenty of light and a variety of seating options. A fine choice if you’re getting gas or in a hurry.

Love their apple pecan salads, but this store is looking tired so I hope that they get the new facelift soon! The order person is well trained asking if I wanted to have their new special but I really like what I like! Just wish you could get out of the parking lot. They really need a light!

This Wendy’s doesn’t open until 10AM. Unsure if that’s standard for Wendy’s actually, as I don’t generally frequent fast-​food, but I was traveling and wanted a breakfast/​early lunch. When they did open at 10, it took them a while to get things going.
The mis-​charged me (or didn’t understand what I was asking for) with their salad + other thing for $ 4.99 special that was on a HUGE poster beside the register. With frostie my bill was closer to $ 10, which didn’t make sense but I wasn’t going to make a big deal over.
And they forgot to give me my salad dressing, which I had to ask for. Otherwise, it was what you expect from Wendy’s.
