Dirty but what steak and shake is not dirty and very nice servers and fast food and great milk shake

Very busy on a Saturday afternoon. Service is very slow and hey they may forget you, but I waited to try it anyway. I tried a guaco burger and cookies and cream. Burger was different and enjoyable. Shakes was tasty and filling. Servers were nice and courteous however I did not find the manager to be unpleasant compared to the rest of the front staff.

I’ve had many late nights here. Never have had a bad experience here. One of the better Steak n Shake locations.

Good food price reasonable bright and airy décor. Lots of families and teenagers from sporting events.

Food is delicious — in a greasy kind of way. I enjoy the flavoring a that they have available for the fries. The restaurant and barrooms are clean and the back kitchen area seems clean from what I can tell. The service is good I. Store but the drive they is slow. Shakes are always a plus as well.

The food is pretty standard, however STAY AWAY ON A WEEKEND NIGHT. Especially if you are over the age of 25 and value your hearing. I have to give credit to the staff, they do an ok job of handling the hoodlums, but this is not the place to stop if you just need to get off the road, and chill your nerves.

We eat here weekly the food is good but they have cut the size of the 5 way chili so small you need 2 to equal the serving they did have, so you leave hungry unless you buy more.

Everytime we head to Ohio to visit my husband’s family we hit Steak N Shake at least 4 times, twice on the way up and twice on the way back, I wish they had them up in the DC metropolitan area.

I love this place, the food is always delicious and the wait staff is always so very friend. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because their drive thru is very very slow and it is a «hangout» sometimes and it can get very loud in there. A few times when I have eaten there I couldn’t even hear my husband speaking to me across the table

A very good deal for the price. Shakes are the best around, and their burgers and fries are good. We don’t stop real often, but when we want a shake and burger, we go to Steak & Shake.

Why can’t they have Steak ‘n’ Shake in New England? It is pretty good.
My son loved his chicken fingers, fries, the paper car, stickers, and hat and was occupied with the latter three throughout lunch. This was fantastic because his parents could finish their meals! And we loved our burgers!
Their shakes are out of this world and I love the fact that they have so many flavors (and more during the winter months). And I like that you can get a kiddie size if you are not in the mood for so much dairy.
The bathrooms were not the cleanest but I’ve come to expect much worse while traveling. At least they had a changing table.

Decent food, but the service is horrible. My wife and I like going there, but we expect to have horrible service.

It’s like Denny’s with a drive thru… If you can ever try In-​N-​Out you’ll know why I gave this place a 3, it’s just average, cheap, fast food. Good shakes though!

Driving though Ohio for my cousin’s wedding, I saw signs for Steak N Shake at nearly every exit. It was getting pretty late in our drive, and I figured we should stop for food. A quick glance at the reviews indicated that Steak N Shake would be one the best choice if we were to stop in Zanesville. Super, because I was jonesin’ for a tasty burger.
Unfortunately, Steak N Shake didn’t live up to the hype. Everything was okay, as in, «I’ll eat it» but I wouldn’t classify anything I had worthy of a return visit. Other than the insanely cheap prices, I can’t see much about this place that would bring me back. My guacamole burger didn’t have the flavor or intensity I would have expected. There was seriously a tablespoon full of guacamole on the burger, a dollop, enough to taste but not enough to enjoy. The burger itself was thin and held together by a slice of partially melted cheese. The thin cut fries were nice, but that’s about it. The shakes were okay, but I’ve had better ones elsewhere.
Service was generally slow, we waited 30 minutes after placing our order and the restaurant wasn’t even at capacity.
Sure, for the late night crew, coming back from the bars, yeah, I can see the allure this place has. But for all the times in between, I think I will pass. I felt like it was the Del Taco of burgers and shakes. Cheap, sure, but it’s worth paying extra to get something a bit more satisfying.

One of my fav burger places, though it seems it takes a double now to make a burger! Wonderful milkshakes and great vanilla cokes, with real vanilla flavoring, make your own milkshake flavors! Love the skinny fries!

There’s just something about heading to Steak N Shake after the bar’s closed on a Thursday night that leaves me with happy memories. The wait staff here is excellent, and really great at dealing with loud crowds or people who are not quite sober. They are professional and courteous and make the experience a lot more fun.
That being said, their milkshakes are out of this world. I often find myself craving one! The butter pecan is a fantastic addition to the menu. Caramel-​y and buttery with candied pecans scattered throughout? Sheer perfection.
Corey has to be the best server there, hands down.

I love this chain of resturants. The shakes are the best. The steak burgers are always good. Try the patty melt
