We stayed for a week over Christmas. We were comfortable, and have no complaints. The room we had was on the first floor and the ceilings were high making the room feel very spacious. The breakfast is basic, but decent. The location was ideal for us, right off the highway. The staff was very professional, friendly and helpful. I can’t say that I ever heard any other guests. Overall, a good place to stay.

Clean, clean, clean… Friendly staff and excellent customer service. We arrived early after a 4 hour drive from. CA and were able to check in right away. We asked for extra pillows and by the time we got to the room and shut the door they were already knocking with the pillows. The pool area wax clean, and stacked with towels. If we are in the area again this is the place we will stay. It was 115 outside and 70 inside with the AC on.

I have stayed here on business three times and will continue to. Great hotel on east end of town. 9 miles from the 16th street exit. Perfect for Yuma Proving Ground access. Always clean, very comfortable white down type comforter and lots of pillows, friendly staff and free breakfast. Close access to supermarket and restaurants and gas station. They have a charcoal grill out by the pool for guest use which isn’t in the description. Quiet even though it’s not far off of I-8. Can’t go wrong for the price!

I am really, really torn in rating this hotel. If I just rate the hotel, I have to give it at least 4 stars. And, because of Maria F(asst. Manager), I’m going to do just that. The hotel is well-placed for our river trips as it saves nearly 15 minutes of travel time back to Yuma at the end of a long, fun day. We typically travel into Yuma for dinner, but this affords us an earlier shower before we head into town. It also allows us an earlier start in the morning as everything we need is very close by. As for the hotel itself, it’s very clean, the staff has always been very cheerful and helpful; clearly it’s well-run. They do have odd advertisements for another hotel in Mexico draped around the pool area, which I thought was odd. Speaking of the pool area, it’s always looked clean(I’ve never used it). The A/C works very well(unlike some of the other hotels in the area that have struggled) and it’s quiet enough that it’s never awakened me in the middle of the night. The bathrooms are clean and the showers are hot. Like many of the other places, the«cold» setting on the shower really means«Not as blazing hot as HOT»(it is, after all, the middle of the summer in Yuma, so that’s not surprising). There is no COLD water in Yuma, unless you’re pulling it from a fridge… and why would you do that when you have BEER in the fridge? But, I digress. My major, major complaint with the hotel wasn’t with this particular location, but with Choice Hotels in general. I signed up because they were/are offering a promotion: «stay 2 separate trips and earn a free night». I joined specifically because of this hotel and my semi-frequent trips to Yuma. This was, in fact, my 3rd trip after I’d registered on their site, so I asked Maria to credit me for a free nights’ stay. She said she couldn’t but that I should call their 800 number and they could help. I did, and was told that, upon registering, I was supposed to have then signed up for the promotion, so I didn’t qualify. You’ve got to be kidding me. THAT was the reason I registered in the first place. He was very nice and accommodating and he signed me up retroactively for the promotion and awarded me 5000 points. I really appreciated the customer service and told him so. I asked him(yes, I did), if the front desk could see what he had done and if the front desk had access to everything they needed to award me the nights’ stay. He said ‘yes’. This is where everything went asunder. Upon returning to the front desk and the wonderful Maria F, she told me that she did NOT in fact, have access to that and it was up to website to award me the free stay upon making the reservation. Back to the 800 number; this time I spoke with«Tony», who proceeded to tell me that I didn’t «have enough points for a night’s stay at this hotel». I only had 8000 points and THIS hotel requires 10,000. I had now spent over 30 minutes trying to get this resolved and my friend was waiting on me so that we could get to the river. I sort of had had enough. I explained to Tony that I really didn’t give SHaT how many«points» this hotel requires, I’d signed up for a free night’s stay and I told him to work it out with the wonderful Maria F behind the counter, and I handed her the phone. Maria listened for a few seconds, said«ok» and hung up the phone. Puzzled, I asked what he’d said and she replied«He told me to just hang up the phone as he wasn’t going to do anything further». She had a very apologetic look on her face. «So, he just told me to F off, is that what I’m hearing?». «Pretty much, yes and I’m really surprised, frankly» she replied. Now, Maria had already charged the room to my debit card, so I asked her to refund that as I was going to put it on my Amex(I didn’t tell her this, but I was going to dispute the entire amount and never, ever visit a «Choice» Hotel, ever again). She said she wasn’t supposed to do that, but she would; before she did, however, she credited me a night’s stay and asked me if I still wanted to void everything out. I thanked her and left it on my debit card. Had it not been for her actions, I would have given this place 1 star and told everyone not to ever, ever visit a «Choice» hotel. As it is, I’m giving this place the 4 stars it deserves, and telling everyone not to use«Choice» hotels. Since my experience, I’ve visited their website and it turns out that you can only earn a free nights’ stay at «over 1500 hotels»; only most likely NOT the hotel you’ve stayed in as they are too nice to give out a free stay after only two separate trips. What a sham and a pity that they feel that they have to resort(pardon the pun) to dishonest advertising. I called and emailed their customer service department and have heard nothing back from them, so I guess this tells you what you need to know about how the run things on their corporate side.

Clean rooms, super friendly staff, great breakfast, plenty of parking, AC is very strong and cold, free wifi and a little fridge in our room. Love this place. We will probably stay here from now on!
