Blaisdell Steakhouse & Mexican

The first time we came here it was great… tonight it was awful! Food was cold, took forever, all of it was over cooked (well really fried to a burnt crisp)! We had talked this place up to my father in law and finally brought him tonight and it stunk. I’m bummed! Don’t think I will bring anyone here again!

The food was ok but not great. The décor and service were great so that made up for the lack in good food flavored. I doubt there was any alcohol in the Margaritas so don’t waist your money. Probably won’t go back but it’s worth a visit once.

One of the best meals I have had in a restaurant in a long time! You can taste how fresh and «real» the food is. Cooked perfect pork chop that was at least 2 inches thick! The frys and coleslaw were awesome as well! my wife gave me a bite of her chorizo burger, also cooked perfectly and full of flavor! My daughter got the steak sandwich which also had perfectly cooked flank steak in it. Granny Moores pies! Best coconut cream pie ever! Try the coconut pie supreme! Unbelievable! Our server Roberta was awesome as well! Jason and Lynda Penny you guys have a great place and menu! People of Yuma this place is worth the drive from town, and then some!

This place confuses me but we had a decent meal. The décor is country/​cowboy-​ish, which I love. The menu was a little overwhelming — are we at a Mexican place or a steakhouse, ahhh?!?
We had the zucchini sticks and they were AMAZING. Seriously. Perfect size, perfectly fried and they came out piping hot.
The waitress got a little confused with our orders (7 people) but we got it worked out on our own. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food — burritos, carne asada, fajitas — and we all took home left overs. Maybe not so many chips next time.
The pie in the case looked pretty good but nobody had room to try it, sad.

I went here for Thanksgiving dinner, I had the prime rib… was OK… wife had the salmon… she didn’t like it… I’m not too sure what the side veggie was… it was awful… I’m not going back, there was a lady at the door behind a podium the whole time we were there, she didn’t do anything but watch everyone eat… it was kind of strange

hmmmmm… well, I am real big on the character and atmosphere of a place…
I really feel they need to have some music, it is wayyyyyy too quiet. The only music they have sounds like it is coming from the kitchen. being so quiet, it gives the place a «cafeteria» feel… I can hear other peoples conversations from across the room.
The décor is geared toward cowboy/​western/​ranch… why not have some good country on a nice sound system? Doesn’t have to be LOUD… just enough… That would really add a lot to this place. It would be so much more fun and cozy.
If they had some nice music/​atmosphere, it would feel more like a «date» night, instead of an old folks library … sorry…
The food is okay… no complaints…

I used go to this restaurant frequently. I usually order a chili burger and my wife usually orders Mexican food. Tonight we decided to order steaks since it is a «Steak House and Mexican Food» restaurant. I ordered a $ 26 T-​bone steak cooked medium with beans and a baked potato. My wife ordered a Ribeye cooked medium with veggies and a baked potato. Both items came with a «house salad». We will start with the salads. The lettuce had MANY brown wilted pieces in them. They also contained many pieces of what we call the «butt» lettuce, which is the stem portion of the head. They were subpar at best. Let’s move on to the steaks. We both ordered them to be cooked «medium». The wife and I frequent many high dollar steak houses (Ruth Chris, Donovan’s and others), so we know a good steak. We don’t mind spending upwards of $ 100 a plate for good steak. Now, I am not comparing a $ 26 steak to a $ 100 steak, but I know a bad steak when I taste it. Anyways, both steaks were cooked VERY RARE. I sent my steak back immediately, as I cut down the middle of my steak when it was served to me. They took my steak back (first time), cooked it some more then brought it back out. It was slightly cooked more, but still to rare, so I sent it back again (second time). By this time, my wife had cut into her steak and it too, was cooked very rare. So she sent hers back also. They brought both steaks back (same steaks) and they were now so burnt on the outside, that it overpowered all other tastes of the steaks. We Each only took one bite of the steaks. Both potatoes were were only slightly warm. Overall it was horrible food. The waiter was well aware of the poor quality and that it took an extra 30 minutes (the others in our party were done before our steaks were brought back to us). My steak went back a total of 3 times. So when it came time for the bill, I figured it would be discounted. Not free, but at least discounted as me nor my wife ate more than one bite of the steaks. THE BILL WAS FULL PRICE!!! We asked to speak to the manager or owner. The waiter went to the back for 10 – 15 minutes and then came back out and said that the owner had left for the evening!!! Complete BS, we saw the owner in the back when we were leaving. WE WILL NEVER GO BACK! Which really bums me out because like I said, we come here often.

Nice, clean restaurant. The staff was very kind and welcoming. Food was delicious and served quickly. I had a steak, green beans, and and fries. The fries and fries were perfectly seasoned and the green beans were fresh!!! We will definitely return.

Beautiful restaurant! Wonderful service from the waiter, he was taking care of at least 5 tables. He knows the menu and specials for the day. Friendly and professional.
I had a burger and it was cooked as I requested.
Will definitely return again with more people!

Good and interesting food! I’m not a steak lover but my husband is. The steak was great and there were many other delicious creative options to choose from such as quiche and the blue cheese burger. The prickled pear margarita was the best. Great service, too. Oh and did I mention the amazing home made pies? The crust is to die for!

Went for Valentine’s Date as we heard such great reviews about this place. It was busy and we had a great waitress whom was attentive. Our salad was large and awesome. Our baked potato was large. however, my prime rib was ¼”-½″ thick and hardly Medium rare. Minus the fat, perhaps we got between 6−8oz. ??? Because seating was needed, we took our cheesecake dessert to go. Maybe we will return for a second try when things aren’t so hectic?

I have been sitting here for 20 min before someone took my order, their excuse is they are understaffed. The margaritas are so weak I’m not sure there is any tequila in it. I can’t say how the food is because I don’t have any yet. I think you should avoid this place. The food was OK but expensive and then they tried to overcharge me, my burrito was 7.98 and they tried to charge me 14.98. They said 14.98 was for the burrito MEAL which I didn’t have.

I gave this place one star because I had to to post this. I tried to take my dad here for his birthday 20 March 15. We had a party of 6. The hostess asked if we had a reservation. (My parents had been here before and at that time they didn’t need a reservation.) We told her no and at that point she got very rude and told us that they could seat us at 2 tables but since we DIDN’T have a reservation they could NOT seat us at the big tables because they were reserved. We asked if they could put 2 tables together and we were told in no uncertain terms that their policy was that they did not put tables together. Everyone but me is from Yuma so not only will I not be going back when I visit but my family will not be going back either. To me it doesn’t matter how good your food is if your staff is rude and obnoxious i would rather go to McDonald’s.

Great food and great atmosphere! We thought we would try this place. The sirloin steak had great flavor and the chicken fajitas were awesome and plentiful. The flatiron steak was great as well. We’ll definitely come here again

We had the potato taquitos (daily special) and a bowl of albondigas. The restaurant is very clean and has fun décor. Service was prompt, friendly, and efficient, the chips were fresh, and the salsa is delicious! The food was extremely well made and so tasty that I highly recommend you try it out! We can’t wait to return and work our way through the diverse menu.,

Great food & service! We have been regulars for the Friday fish dinner. The fish comes with soup (the best clam chowder) or salad, beans or coleslaw & fries (definitely get the sidewinder fries). Can’t wait to try the prime rib!

Really just surprisingly great. Portions are unexpectedly large for the price, selection and preparation excellent. Does the normal, local thing in an extraordinary way. (Which is to put it too simply.)

First timers menu had good selections to choose from. We had the clam chowder that is home made, AWESOME!
I had the Rib Eye it was cooked to perfection and had good flavor. Wifey had the fish fry and wasn’t to thrilled. My son Jacob had the bacon cheeseburger with the hug curly fries and liked it.
A little pricey but will return.

Prime rib is excellent! My wife and I had a really hard time deciding what to order because everything sounded delicious. We went with the Saturday prime rib special. It was tender, juicy, and everything prime rib should be. Our rookie had a sirloin and also really liked it. Jason’s beans are also very tasty. Can’t wait to go back and try their burgers, sandwiches, and Mexican dishes.

Had dinner here Friday night. Place has great service and nice friendly environment. I recommend the Blue Burger, comes with thick cut bacon, blue cheese crumbles & avocados. The bun was toasted and the beef itself was grilled to perfection. The steak menu was a bit pricey I felt with prices ranging from $ 18 to $ 25 but the appetizer menu was reasonable. Tasting how great the ground beef was I’m sure the steaks are probably worth it, I’ll try one next time, definitely going back.
