Way too expensive for what you get, and not very tasty. Chicken lo mein, mushu pork, wanton soup. It was all just so so. I think I would have been happier with Panda Express, and that’s not saying much.

Said they open at noon on Sundays but they happen to be opened around an hr prior. The place looks nice but wanted the food to go. I went with its titular name, the lady said something about regular or want the extra stuff, I said I wanted the regular. When she charged me it felt kindda more than what menu said, got my calculator and turns out she did by about $ 1.50 per plate. I didn’t want to say anything to her about it because, dunno why. The food on the other hand is, MEH! at most, my sis and I suspected the food was pre cooked since they gave me my order rather quick. I think I will stick with The Green House from here on, much better food.

First thing I must mention: 5 stars to that poor young lady/waitress that works there, she has an excellent attitude & provided excellent service, even though it was way beyond her control of the poor management there. For that I mention that the comments below do not reflect this employee’s performance at all. It was the owners & cooks that are at fault. After that, I hate to say it, but I have to be honest in stating that it goes down hill fast! Like a car going off the cliff:(Klank, Ker-boom, Plunk, Splat, Kaput, Swoosh, Ka-blam, Ka-pow, Bam, Pa-Pa-Pa-Pa-Pa & #*@!!) Yup, it was just like that. Again the service was incredibly slow — watching paint dry went faster than waiting for your food. They didn’t have what I wanted… again. It wasn’t crowded either. The quality wasn’t that great the first time we came(I was being nice), but this time it was accurate to say it wasn’t good at all. Some of it was cold, tasted bland or over compensated in sauce and salt. We were also waiting for the other dishes, like my won ton soup that I should have gotten at the beginning and not when I’m ready to pay the bill and flee. Hubby was waiting for his main dish just as long. Same exact thing that happened to us the last time. Also, Dim Sum should have more choices, what they offer is a lot less than the bare minimum. Yup El Monte is looking good(I’m being sarcastic). I also didn’t like the fact that the female owner was trying to decide my dishes for me, Hello? There is a reason I’m not ordering the Pork, my health prohibits me from eating the once beloved meats I use to eat. But she kept insisting I try the Pork after I told her in front of the young lady,(who argued w/me) «It’s not that I don’t want to try, for my health, I can not eat any & all meat», still didn’t register. It did seem a bit over priced than others we’ve been too. Also mom & pop owners — again were giving another free show of the shouting matches.(Lol, they were really fighting) I feel sorry for them. Sadly this could be a great thing, but it’s not. You’ll have to drive to either Redlands or Beaumont/Banning or Riverside for some Dim Sum. I predict there will be a sign up on their door that says«For Lease» soon :( Hopefully another Dim Sum that is truly good will come soon to Yucaipa. What A Disappointment…

So what happened was… I was at the best sandwich store in the area, Matano’s. Couple doors down you’ll find Taste of China. The headline on the store front window boasts in giant letters, «DIMSUM,» in all caps. When you drive by, you’ll see it. Right under that, it’s in smaller fonts, «Served 11 to 3(weekends only).» I got up early on a Saturday morning and started my bike. Nice ride to the quaint downtown Yucaipa. I arrived at 10:35 am, 25 minutes till some steamy dim sum. Finally, 11:02 am, I walk in, get the menu, don’t see dim sum. I asked for the dim sum menu and the lady mumbled something and hesitantly delivered the dim sum menu, I got up early in a weekend and waited 25 minutes for the place to open. I ask for the basics, shrimp dumpling, she says, «No more. She proceeded to point out half the menu was not available. All that time, effort, anticipation, gone to waste. Don’t tease me like that. The place I’m telling you not to try is called, Taste of China. I believe people of China gets denied many things we take for granted, so I think I just had my «Taste of China.» So that you don’t experience the same let down, if you want dim sum, go to Busy Café in Riverside. It’s legit. My order just arrived and it does not look good. I think I’ve seen these in the frozen section at the grocery store. This is the worst dim sum I’ve tasted in years.

I tried to give this place another chance… Husband wanted the lo mein = noodles with pork and veges. The picture on the menu shows meat and lots of fresh vegtables… Got it to go. Almost 9 bucks out the door… Such a disappointment. The pork if you can find it was tiny tiny slices the size of a toothpick… Hardly no veges. What was there was way over cooked and cut to small. It was pretty much all noodles… For $ 9.00. Are you kidding me… I’m done… 2 stars is for the sweet girl who took my order… Zero stars for the food!

I walked in and literally got these yummy chip things right away. I ordered fast and my food was out in under five minutes and tasted fresh. I like this little spot!

I give it a 5 and my teen daughter gives it a 4. If you’re hungry you are going to have to wait a while. It’s not an un-reasonably long period of time considering that they cook the food fresh. The place is small, but cozy. Is nicely decorated and has a nice-looking fish tank. The server was an Asian female who was quiet, but polite. She brought out free Asian chips with an Asian sauce. The food was very good. I had the beef lo mein and would recommend it. My daughter had the sesame chicken which was like fried chicken. The steam rice was cooked just right. I had hot tea which was very good and my daughter had a Coke. They serve it in a bottle and provide you with a glass of ice. It cost us approximately $ 22 for the two of us. The place was quiet and although we were the only ones, there were several people that came in for pick up to go.

Super expensive for what we got! I ordered take out because I saw that they delivered and thought it would be a «take out» place but I hope they serve more food if you stay and eat there. We are a family of five,(a small family, our largest is 6) and when I ordered the lady at the front told me each meal feeds two people. Well it must be the two skinniest people in the world. Half of our Lemon Chicken was iceberg lettuce underneath! It was half a chicken breast for the entire order of $ 9.95. Half a chicken breast for 10 bucks??? Are they nuts? Never returning.

I drive from Riverside just to eat here! Since they have been open for awhile now I think the food is amazing. The employees are really friendly, even though their English is broken, but I’ve never had a meal I didn’t enjoy. My favorite is the fried dumplings, best I’ve ever had. I also love the Lettuce Wraps. Try them! You won’t be disappointed. Everything they make is fresh. Their eggrolls are homemade along with everything else. If you want authentic Chinese cuisine make the trip to Taste of China.

Absolutely fabulous! The shrimp lo mein, eggplant with garlic sauce, eggrolls, and tempura zucchini are my favorites. It’s our favorite Chinese restaurant in Yucaipa! The place is clean and the staff is super friendly! Highly recommended!

We’ve order take out many times and have always been very satisfied. The food is fresh and made to order and very tasty! Although the owner(s) don’t speak much English, they are always very nice and accommodating. We love this place! They need to work on their take-out packaging, as my items are always«leaking» by the time I get home(that’s the only reason I didn’t give them 5 stars!).

Sadly we ate there about three weeks after they opened. Their menu outlined their ingredients. Promised chile, spices, etc. I would rename them the Taste of Nothing. The food was flat no flavor. There was a giant egg roll on the plate, greasy and half of it was burnt. I opened to look at it. The smell was horrible. Not edible. The food was terrible over all. The fried rice had a dried look of having sat out and dried up. I became sick approx 20 minutes after leaving and the rest of the family became sick after 1 hr. I emaiedl the owner and no response. I will never go back. My health is worth more.

I agree with Michael E. Getting way better. This little hole in the wall had a ruff start. They are right down town. And I think they may have been a little anxious to open. But now, they’ve perfected their recipies, and I always seem to get something FREE. I’m not sure I understand how their specials work. But I do love the food and the service. Been back 3 times since hey opened.
