Terrible service. Took me 45 min to get a sandwich. There was 1 person waiting for a sandwich in front of me. About 20 people came in during my wait and had called in there sandwich. 45 min for a sandwich, no joke. Will never say a goof thing about this place ever. The sandwich was ok

this place is legit! expertly made sandwiches by Maria, who hails from Italy. we had a Romano sandwich, fresh Brewed ice tea, pasta salad and tiramisu. all handmade. all top notch. the sandwich fixins were high quality and thinly sliced, as it should be. friendly service — the owner knows everyone who walks in the door. if I lived here i would be back on a frequent basis. highly recommend.

We were there today and were really impressed with the quality of the service and food. Maria was a real standout. We felt like we were back in Italy.

I love the SERVICE and sandwiches here! Havent found a better sandwich place yet! Everything they make is made with love and tastes soo delicious! Tiramisu is to die for! Just love the atmosphere! I never mind the wait for AWWWMAZING food! You get what you pay for!!!

I gave a star because it was a good tasting sandwich… not that it could be hard… turkey and chest and mine was the same no lettuce but got both with lettuce because they closed right 15 minutes before closing… the last time we went and stood there for 20 min before they told us it is going to be a 45 wait but couldn’t tell us that when we came in… so 2^nd time there because of we needed to wait… the were so rude… told me I couldn’t bring my service animal in the store because of other people… they were so mean to me… I shouldn’t have to go through this to keep myself alive

My boyfriend finally took me here for lunch today, so good. Love the mac salad, loved my sandwich! I think this is my new go to place to feed my pregnancy cravings! The ladies were so inviting and friendly. Will be back soon.

This is so amazing! You can’t go wrong with anything on this menu. At top business hours you will be waiting for your food, but she makes each sandwich just for you. It is worth the wait for sure.
I was also wondering if anyone knows what the black wrinkle olives are called?

I could eat here EVERY DAY! The quality of the food is amazing! I always leave with a smile because of the contagious energy and super friendly customer service shown to each guest. These sandwiches are like no other. I highly recommend you try this corner spot. You won’t be disappointed!

This is truly the best «Real Italian» Deli Grinder in the Inland Empire! When you walk in you will be greeted by Owner Maria, and she always has that Italian greeting with a big smile! Don’t forget to say «Chow» when you leave! Highly recommend the «Timatayo» Spelling? Always delicious! Check out their Italian Salads too!

I got the Eggplant sandwich and it was really good. The only downside to this place is that the service is really slow. I heard the owner doesn’t allow any other person to make the food so the pace of the food coming out is slower than other places. I actually didn’t mind waiting but I know some other people that were in a rush got a little frustrated. I am definitely going back to this place to have some warm potato salad and eggplant sandwich with a cold pepsi… yum…

This place is awesome!
I heard about this place years ago, but only recently started going. Why the hell did I deprive myself of this place? The sandwiches are incredible. My only real complaint is they’re not open nearly long enough (11−4ish), but that is canceled out by the food here.
If you can manage to get there when they’re open, do it. It WILL be worth it.

It’s located on a quiet street in a quiet town. When you arrive and see the store front, you’ll see the red bricks, small town store sign without the flashy neon nor lights for that matter. It’s the polar opposite from a corporate conglomerate sandwich chain. You’ll see from the outside, it says mom and pop type business, crafted foods.
Once you step in, you’re greeted by Maria and her daughter with warm smiles and hearty bonjournos, even when the orders are stacked with a 40 minute wait on some occasions (40 minutes, it’s that good). While you’re in this tiny sandwich shoppe, you’ll hear music, Maria will singing as she’s making food and it can maybe transport you to a little shop in Italy. The menu board lists the names of sandwiches and a very brief list of ingredients. The menu board doesn’t do these sandwiches justice to explain how good they are.
The hard rolls everyone raves about are artisan rolls baked fresh by Maria. Some of the ingredients are imported from Italy and the meats are top notch Boar’s Head brand product, sliced when your order is being prepared. One ingredient no other store has is the love she puts into every one of these crafted sandwiches. Definitely order the large. They are so good, you’ll want to take a section home to eat later or to treat someone with a sample of a great sandwich.
When you get your order on a real plate (not paper, styrofoam or logoed wax paper), the sandwich sitting proudly daring you to take a bite. When you do, you’ll realize that this is the type of place Food Network should be covering, but Flavor Town is missing it. A blessing in disguise, because there’s already a wait for these yummy nom noms. Highly recommend this place. I rarely give 5 stars but it’s as good as it gets.
The hours are that of a small town, locally owned business not looking for every nickel in the area. They open at 11 am [when the bread is done baking] and close at «2 — 3ish» Tuesdays through Saturdays. Sometimes, she’ll no open so she can spend time with her grand kids. I suggest calling before you make the trip, just to make sure.

Having traveled all around the world I have had many good sandwiches. Finding a traditional Italian deli in small town Yucaipa was a very welcome surprise. You would have to fly to New York to even come close to sandwiches like this. This shop is worth the detour on any trip.

Top notch! Yesterday my husband and I were wanting a sandwich, and not a Subway sandwich, but a real good sandwich. We were in Beaumont shopping and it was 3:00. I took a chance and called Matano’s, hoping the closing time was later than I thought. They were closed, but answered the phone. Maria said, «of course, come on by!» They didn’t even mind we were 20 minutes away. All we had to do was knock on the door and are sandwiches would be ready. We were greeted by Maria’s (and the young woman who also was there) with a smile and Maria’s exuberant greeting. As always, when we got our sandwiched home they were perfect. Fabulous bread, top of the line meats and cheeses as well as all the other goodies.
Thank you again Maria for going out of your way to make another person’s day get all the better.

I wont enjoy a sandwich anywhere else. Maria has ruined that for me with her Excellent sandwiches made with love. Everyone must visit.

Absolutely the best sandwhich and Italian desert shop around. One of my crew had been here before and insisted we try it out. He was right this place is so delicious and of the highest quality. You can not go wrong if your in the area and want a great tasty meal!

This hole-​in-​the-​wall sandwich shoppe is to die for. These sandwiches are top notch from beginning to end. The service here so pleasing, they are always happy to see a costumer and makes everyone feel like a part of their family. Makes me happy to my soul.
